Could be a fine addition to the game.Of course I'd not be disapointed if it weren't in the game.
Although it does get annoyng to play the same maps all over again! So it should be in.

I've used the RMG only once, as far as I can remember. With a decent collection of user-made maps, the usefulness of such a tool is limited. I would like the introduction of advanced map editing functions much more.

A map generator will be an welcoming addition to the game, but due to the more complicated features in each heroes game, I don't think it will be done as a map gen will be too basic to create a good map. Thats why there wan't a map gen in homm4.

there are a whole lot of H3 players who r only playing it still because of the RMG. If H5 comes with generator they would migrate over, if H5 is a half decent game.

What i would request is information and access to H5 rmg templates so we can customise them like we r doing for H3, and use the generator to its full extent.

Amen to that!

rmg is an absolute necessity to give the game maximum replayability, if there was no generator in heroes 3, I would have stopped playing it precisely 4 years ago.

RMG - yesno?

Yes, because many people enjoy playing randoms, and the people who don't, don't have to use the rmg, duh!

The people who don't use the RMG would prefer New World to focus on more important things such as the artifical intelligence and gameplay balance. And deliver the RMG in an expansion only.

ack, nooo, plz, NOOOOOOO

man o man, the rmg is vital if H5 is to b a hit. NOT MORE MONEY GRABING EXPANSIONS. If they can put an rmg in an expansion, whats the reson they dont include it in the 1st edition. hmm. yes, exactly, milking us gamers for more money.

On-line gaming and multi-player action is the future of computer games. This is more important then the AI. Some games developers have already realized that the money and resources that they could save from the development of a high level AI can be used on other parts of the game. At the end of the day, a decent player is ALWAYS gonna spank the AI big time. The AI will never get close to the human opponet.

Angelspit, b4 u start saying i'm some sort of random only player, i'm not. I play both fixed and random maps both in tourney play and for fun. But there is a huge player base who want a rmg, players that have stuck by the heroes series for years and would b playing H4 now (maybe lol) if it had a generator.

YES, a must!

IMHO, presence of a random generator is absolutely necessary in HOMM5. Maybe if NWC works hard at it and fix some things which I don't like in homm3 generator (I mean, more "clever" object placing), that would attract hordes of new players from homm3, like Midnight said. I like the homm3 generator and mostly play randoms. However, the random maps sometimes need re-generation due to some flaws (you know, ore pit blocked by high level monsters, 10 hydras guarding an empty pandora box, etc.) If all that would be fixed, RMG would do a lot to ensure homm5's success. IMHO.
P.S. I remember what homm2 RMG was... can't stop laughing when I recall how it placed artifacts...

I dont care what they do with homm5 because im happy with Homm3 and i have a sneaky feeling that everyone who didnt like 4 is not going to like 5 for exactly the same reasons that they didnt like 4
3do have decided its time for a change and once a company does that things are never you want unless you like change.
Whats more i am convinced that there will not be a rmg for 5 because 3do managed to get 4 off the ground without one they wont have any reason to introduce it to the next game.

i think 3do wont just repeat the mistakes in heroes 4 onto heroes 5, and considering that homm fans gererally liked 3 better than 4, with execptions, they will have no reason to not add additional features

It all depends on whether or not HOMM5 is a good game to begin with. If it's not that great a game, I don't imagine that the rmg would help make the game much better.

yes, a must!

I don't know how the h3 rmg works, but if the h5 rmg generated maps from novice difficulty to champion difficulty and if saving a hero after a campaign was possible we could use the saved hero on the champion map. In the book is says that a hero's max level is 70. Ok! I wanna have a lev 40 or 50 hero and be proud of him.

hehehe, maybe try opening the box with a hero that has a spellbook and expert wisdom... might help a bit.

But back on the subject: of course H5 needs a RMG.
Other wise in 3 years I'll be stuck playing Ozzies on rdms.
