well, i sorta agree with splexx.
i would like to volunteer as a 3rd party host and watch some of the old bastages play 
seeing as most wont play against other players with less than 1500 points, this gonna be the only way i can see what ya do
wanna see if ya'll can play the game as good as ya talk it

Sounds like it may need to be redesigned a lil bit for it to really be successful.. as of now it sounds like a tourney thatll start and then just fizzle out pretty fast
then again, what do I know?

the main concept wont get redesigned - only one thing decides if this tourney will be a success or not : if we have enuff brave players in toh or only chickens who only play 1 map all day long.
@ madmaritgan good question about this shield thing havent thought about it yt and hope to find a good solution till it starts

Do u have to hold a shield to challenge for the ultimate warlord or not?
When i read this, i figured normally i wouldnt have much of a chance beating any of the great players (because i only play randoms...imo the unknown is much more enjoyable). But i was going to play and practise an obscure toh map that probably hasnt been memorized by the ultimate warlord holder. Thus giving me a shot at winning.
But im getting the impression that u have to be a shield holder to challenge the ultimate warlord.

I dun think Id ever qualify for the tourney..but Id love to play any map besides the popular ones. I played a few games since comin back, but I cannot compete on the maps played 100 times

That part still bothers me. The aim of the ultimate warlord shield is to force the shield holder play on other maps that he does not know/like.
But the paradox lies in there. You have to own a shield first; and, to do that you have to defeat a shield holder on the map he will pick, and, most probably, the one he mastered already.
hmmm....

i agree its a little paradox - but the problem is we need a good working system to pick worthy challengers for the warlord. if we just go ahead and pick em randomly or by first ltter of their nicknames if would prolly be too easy for the warlord to get defend the title.
the othr option would be that the coordinators simply take a look at all challngs and pick who shall gte a title shot or not but im quite sure then we have conspiracy theories again
the tourny is not launched yet so any suggstions to fix this paradoxum are welcome

IMO 10 days challenge period is very short considering the number of challengers. I remember challenging peeps myself letting them to pick the map when I had a shield.
Maybe set a standard for challenges (ie. top players of all ranks) and the ultimate warlord to defend his title plays all of them each month starting from the lowest rank. Or play all of the other warlords each month. Or something like that, I dunno.

challenge rules have been extended a bit.
also the first ultimate warlord defender is chosen : Attila - his mail was the fastest. if you think you can kick his butt just challenge him by mailing me

Quite right Titan! This problem has already been addressed. The past few months, since activity has really dropped, I have been less adamant about the deadlines. For the most part I have been letting the shields stay as long as no one emails me requesting the expired shield. Moral of the story, if you see that the page has been updated and a date has been passed, drop me an email and chances are it will be yours. Current warlords are now: Heroliubei, Killa_Bee, Amazon_King, Veldarian, Aculias and thecastrated! So now you know who to put on your hit list!

Attila vs. Jarcik will be the first match. jarcik picked the template blockbuster.
btw anyone a guess which player would be skilled enuff to defend the title for more than 5 games in a row ?
if there would be a betting game i would put my money on VEX becasue he is not just focused on one map/mapstyle
