Homm3..vs..Everquest??

I just watched an intersting documentary on the addictiveness of online games..which was focused on Everquest..

I guess it's an ongoing rpg that increases your character's  skill, etc ..but only based on the more u play..

Where as in Homm..it's not how much u play..but how good u play..(that's why im still a squire)

BUT>>>>>
It also reported that Sony Corp...has vigoursly promoted the "online multi-player" aspect of the game...

It's net earnings for online gameplay of Everquest is $8 million/month in advertising revenues...

If 3doh had their sh!t together and realized that online play is the ticket...and how much ppl like us communicate to each other...If we like it we tell every one we know to buy and play..and vice versa...

IMO..they never realized the power of online players...
Just worried bout initial sales..not the long term...

sad but true..

Would be nice if Sony would pick up the Homm franchise..
Coz, if done right H5 could be a Blockbuster ..no pun intended Midnight

Ideally, I was thinking how awesome it would have been if 3doh would have allowed homm1 or homm2 to be bundled with new computers (eg dell, compaq -- they usually have a few older games bundled with the computers).

Anyone and everyone who has played homm1 or 2 knows how addictive it can become... very quickly.  This is a way to 'infect' the general masses.  It would have worked... and leading to these addicts to buy homm3, expansions etc.

I am a believer than any person with a PC and some free time on his/her hands can get addicted to homm2 or homm1.

Notice I dont say homm3 or 4, because they were a little to complex for starters.  Homm1 and 2 are quick to learn and kill your free time.

Yes, if 3doh/nwc had good mgmt. they would have taken an initial loss on the production side and gained an unbreakable foothold in the "this game is included in your new comp programs". blah. blah..thx for shopping at Future Shop

i said this b4

i have a post at celestial heavens, about h5 wish list etc etc. but if ya read it, the replys from ppl like anglspit and hmm, is it phycobabble or some1 lol, they jsut cant see it and belive multi-player is an added bonus and 3do and nwc should put more effort into the AI for gods sake lol.

some companys, like splexx has said, sony etc, have already twigged the next big thing is gonna be online multi player games, and these companys, instead of spending millons on developing and AI that can give a good game, instead have simply saved that money by making them multi-player based instead.

duno about buddleing stuff, maybe if Mircosoft buys NWC they will put H3 or H4 into WindowsXP OS lmao, then evry1 gets it haha

first when i started playing everqust i hated the monthly fee. but after a whil you realise that its not that bad to pay for a game on a montly basis. it really keps the biggest foos out of the game lol . a lot more fun and relaxing if you dont have to worry about cheaters, lamers or fakers AT ALL.

one of The biggest positive aspect of Everqust is the support. when i have a problem or find a bug i contact one of the gamemasters and they help as soon as possible and if the bug is  reproduceable you can be sure its removed in the next patch.
