Viability of Future Homm4 Tournaments

Ever since the 3d0 announcement of its bankrupcy, online activity in homm4 has literally been halved.  And of course, halving a very low activity level is rather disastrous.

Like Celestial Heavens, I'm optimistic there will be a homm5, therefore the histories and records can continue.

Whether there are 2 clans or 35, clans of axeoth will continue for those active, and in a sense, those remaining active clans can slowly eat up the lands that the stronger inactive clans wont.

The ToH homm4 season will just be a very long one, as older high ranking vets retire (if only temporary) I notice some newer players move up in the ranks, and perhaps become the new lords/emperors in months to come.

Which brings me to the main reason for this thread, the Heroes of War tournament base concept is done, and would require at minimum 32 to maximum 128 fully active players.  And frankly at this point I dont see 32 dedicated hardcore players to fill in and start this tourn, even though the matches are maximum 20 minutes long as compared to 6 hours in a real full game.

When Casualties of War in homm3 was fired up, over 100 players played through, and there was a waitlist for forefiters.

Probably not enough active playeres to support Heroes of War, but activity in h4 multi has not dropped the last months atleast

I believe it has risen. Was alot fewer people in gamespy months ago than now. Some of the emperors might seem inactive, but this is natural since they only play certain 100% win maps, and noone wants to play them

Hey Ves?  I'm new to TOH and Heroes multi.  Only played H4 this season.  Do you think H4 multi will survive long term, or do you see interest waning?  What has been your experience in the past as far as number of dedicated players and clan activity compared to now?  Have you ever seen NWC in so much risk of going under or "disbanding"?  Are Heroes sales strong enough to warrant another company taking the risk of picking up the NWC team?  Sometimes I feel like I'm on a sinking ship and maybe should spend time on a platform that has more players, stability and support.  I hate to say that because of course I love Heroes and enjoy TOH activities.  Have you ever considered expanding to other games?
