Since its meant to be a blood dragon, it should have blood dripping, blood droul and when attacked blood flying everywhere. Thats what ya' call a blood dragon, not just a red bone dragon, no offence, the pic does look good but personally needs some work done

Actually, we have divided it already. At least one major feature (a new Commander spell system) that was going to be in 3.58 has been put off for 3.59.

We still have only one "Slava" and the biggest new 3.58 feature (creature experience) will take him some time to do.

Also, most of the current new scripts are still being worked on and debugged and abilities for two of the four new monsters already made haven't been programmed yet.

Then there's the testing phase and that will take a long time too. Even if no new features were added starting now, we'd need awhile to get the existing new features finished, debugged, documented and tested. I'm sure people have found bugs in all versions of WoG, but imagine how many there would be if we didn't spend so much time testing before release?

(Well, the same is true for most commercial games it seems.)

And then there's the work of packing the update and updating the site. I'm not sure how long that takes Slava (maybe only a few hours to set it up plus some more for the site update) but it's all work.

I think one of the key points here is that it's significantly more work for the team to release lots of smaller patches than to release larger ones less frequently. Also, with varying schedules of team members (sometimes they go away for a few weeks or longer), it would make it harder to coordinate things.




The team needs to assemble Alpha and Beta testers.  Save you guys a lot of testing time.  Set up a repository for feedback on your website.

Well on my website I have a list of testers for the new versions.  And all testers of the current version that are active testers have the advantage of coming back for the next version and getting all new stuff months ahead of everyone else  When a tester becomes inactive I remove them and bring in a tester from my alternative list I keep for people that have asked to be 1 but the slots were full.  The WoG team is not the only testers for the games.  But if a serious problem pops up we all become testers real quick ;P

Active means they actively test and report errors inactive means they get the files and I never hear from them.  After a month of hearing nothing they become inactive and are removed.

Trust me there will be LOL.  And with 20+ new scripts and still glitches in a few old ones there is bound to be errors.  From something not working like it should to game crashes.  I have already had 2 crashes from 1 script.  Once I get some error reports in I will post saves and info on our bug report section for others to try to duplicate to see if it is a real error or a pc problem.

Well Gan, I'm thinking that the latest t1.exe we have been using is fine, so I don't think it's that. Not to be pointy fingered but really, we'll have about 30 new scripts along with the usual 3.57f scripts. From what I've tested so far, there are about 4 or 5 scripts that are producing errors right now. At least in the new batch expected for 3.58. Here are the scripts I am not using for testing 3.58:

    1. War Machines-by Bonizag. Reason is, is because once the battle starts I get a black screen.
    2. Death Chamber-by Space8999. Reason is, is because I get the battlefield popping up even if I don't enter the chamber.
    3. Pouch-by Overlord. Reason is, is because it is'nt complete yet. It works fine, but needs more detailed attention. Overlord is aware of the problem and is working on it.
    4.Protection from the Elements-by Peytro. Reason is, is because I get syntax errors when I cast mass spells on magical plains.Peytro is aware of the problem and is working on it.
    5.Wishing Vault-by Anders. Reason is because the game crashes once I select resources to give to the genies. I'm not sure what the status is on repairing the script.
    6.Tobyns Scripts-by Tobyn. Reason is because the Secondary Skills Icons have weird messages in them, and when you click the Icon, the gsme crashes. Tobyn, I beleive is working on the problem.
    7.Extra Secondary Skills-by Donald. Reason is because I get conflicts with other boosted secondary skill scripts and the game crashes. I beleive the team is making arrangements to fix the whole Secondary Skills package into one script.

So, what I'm saying is that if you or anyone on your testing team are using these scripts, they may have the problems I've encountered. Check these scripts on the list and put them aside and see if problems are minimal. I know this seems like a lot of scripts, but really for the amount of scripts that could possibly be added for 3.58, it is'nt. And the problems these scripts have can easily be corrected I'm sure. But until they are I don't use them.

I have done had 1 script removed before sending to my testers because it sent you straight out of WoG LOL.  I usually do a quick test before I send to testers to try to keep them from getting a destroyed version of WoG.  It takes more time and effort on my part to do this but I try to save them the problems we have LOL.  You know how frustraiting it is to install a new test file and lose all LOL.

I know this has nothing to do with new creatures, and I apologize for that. For some of you who may have experienced a bitof a slowdown in WoG, you may have to disable Dimension Door and Fly in the WoG options. We have been seeing some problems with this, and are making attempts to minimize the AI from too many choices it has to make when it is their turn. With WoG, the AI has more choices than ever before and we have found that with DD and fly it has astronomical choices with what to do and slows the game down especially after the 3rd or 4th month. SO, if anyone is experiencing this problem, for now, just disable the DD and Fly in your WoG options until this can be corrected. We have'nt found any problems in 3.57f with this, at least I have'nt. But for you testers of 3.58, this is what you will have to do. We are currently testing some scripts that will lesson the DD and Fly for the AI while still allowing humans to have DD and fly. Keep your fingers crossed, and if it works, possibly Gangrail or KittenAngel will get those scripts to you all who are testing 3.58.
