Does Heros Work Thru NAT?

I can't get the game to start when using my router.  I have tried all sorts things such as opening ports and specifying dmz for my computer yet it makes no difference.  I have read all the links here and all referenced web pages yet nothing helps.  The only way I can play is to remove the router so that my computer gets the real internet IP address. I have WinXP Pro and a cable modem.

I suspected the game is not capable of running without reading its own internet address but then I was able to connect to my brother who has a dsl connection which runs thru a proxy.  This means his game would not know his real IP so that must not be the reason mine does not work.

The router (A GNet IP104P) when set to dmz is still providing NAT to my computer.

Does anybody have anymore ideas?

Has anybody ever gotten the game to work thru a router?

Thanks for any help.

"Bump"

I still have not found a solution.  I was wondering if anyone else plays this game thru a NAT connection.  If not, then I wont waste any more of my time looking for a solution.  Otherwise, I will keep checking for a setup that works.  Nothing I have tried so far, with the router in place, allows me to get a game started.
