One persons strategy may not work for anyone else, but it may work for him. I know I'm not some great player and it doesn't bother me. I play for fun, many people do, then you have your highly competitive ppl like RD who play to be godly and have the right to call ppl foobums for stating their strategy and sayin it "sucks". I don't care if my strategy were to suck or not, if it works for me, hell, I'm ecstatic! If you state that you have a better strategy, I try it, and it fails horribly for me, I'll probably say, "Hey, it didn't work for me, it doesn't seem that great" and you'd probably comment, "Well how did you F*ck it up? Stupid n00b!" Or you could be, "Well, I did it this way, what did you do different?" Compare strategies, there's different ways of conversing about a game than saying that this strategy stinks while mines better. And I apologize RD if I haven't been polite about this whole ordeal. Like Consis stated that the ToH'ers are....well...ya know... However, when one of them says they're resigning, there's lots of kindness shown that person despite possible months of being tossed around like a StivenDoll
On a side note, all this talk about Warcraft has given me an urge to play it. *grumbles* Thanks alot guys

I am a pretty decent Night Elf player.
I am not a big fan of their heroes though, i usually get a neutral hero whenever i have a chance.
Usually tech to bears, a few MG's to tank, and fairy dragons to damage the mana users.
GGNORE
my old account is bad, i was a noob RT player. 28-45 win/loss record.
My new one is completly solo
6/7 win/loss. Level 7 On ladder, working towards my huntress icon.

I think orc's are the best. Taurens, shamans and grunts I enjoyed this race in first play in warcraft. My favorite hero is far seer, becouse he can attack from distance, summon shadow wolves and do earthquake. Light and his thunders are good, but better than light are thunders =] In orcs my second favorite hero is tauren chieftain. Very strong creature, but veery slow =/

Playing WC for 3 years and currently the race that is owning the ladder is Night elf , for the easy fast/mass expanding (uproot trees) and for the stroooong bears dryads combo
second probably orc coz of the far seer grunt raider combo
third undead for the strong heroes but no real good units to survive midgame except fiends
and last is of course human that just have nothing..
I hope ppl understand what i mean

All races are good, although i prefer undead due to their swarming abilities with skeletons...

If you know how to use it, every race can be the best. You can say that vs NE, orcs are chanceless, bur believe me if that NE player is a n00b, than his in for a slaughter.Overall, I guess that the NE can become the best but you have to be quite skilled in order to use them all.A race for the average player are the HM, as they are the most simple race to use IMO.Personally I play with UD but I really have to work on my skill(aka apm, cause this makes the difference between a good player and a godlike) in order to use them at maximum caapcity.
@ ametov:Wtf are you talking about???It just isn't posible to have 500 units, firstly is the food limit and secondly you have a number of skeletons limit. So cut out thi crap.
LE: sry for resurrecting a dead thread but I desperatly searched for the war3 thread , as I consider it to be a game worth talking about, although it's quite old

Quite old? The game isn't even 4 years old. People are still playing games that are much older - like Diablo, Starcraft, And Counter-Strike.
The usual pattern seems to be
NE > Orc
Orc > Human
Human > UD
UD > NE
However, NE are very vulnerable to tower rushes early game..as their wisps cannot attack. an orc can simply tower their base in the beginning of the game if the map is small (such as terenas stand) and gg.

Quote: NE > Orc
Orc > Human
Human > UD
UD > NE
What? I think that's a mistake. Mass Huntresses can slaughter anything the UD can put up against them in the earlygame. If the UD take to Gargoyles, then masss Archers. In the midgame, though, UD have a very good chance with Destroyers. However, in the endgame, they're tied with Chimaeras vs. Frost Wyrms. So, overall, it's balanced. Just it's very easy to slaughter the Undead early on with NE.
Were I to group the races, I would say:
Earlygame:
Orc>Human
Human>Undead
NE>Orc
NE>Undead
NE>Human
Orc>Undead
Midgame:
Human>Orc
Undead>Human
NE>Orc
Undead>NE
Human>NE
Undead>Orc
Lategame:
Human>Orc
Undead>Human
NE>Orc
Undead=NE
NE>Human
Undead>Orc
Quote: The grunt is a good unit in all parts of the game.
Not really. Grunt becomes obsolete in mid- and lategame.
Quote: The headhunter as a berserker is a great unit
Granted.
Quote: the Demolisher is the best siege unit in the game(along with mortar)
The Demolisher doesn't even come close to Mortar. And Meat Wagon > Demolisher.
Quote: Kodobeast: Can swalloa units whole(even tauren, knights, aboms, bears.. etc) Gives a aura that makes you damage more, now this is nifty.
Actually, Kodos aren't that useful. Humans kill them with air, Undead block them with Abominations or kill them with Destroyers, NE kill them with Druids (both kinds).
Quote: Raiders: Ever heard of ensnare? 5-6 raiders and when your enemy is fleeing, youll get a few units or a hero.
Raiders die too quickly to be useful. The Knight is basically the same as a Raider, but without Siege damage, but lasts a lot longer.
Quote: Wywerns: Do i even have to explain? These units rock, even against fiends!(If you have a FS that is )
Granted.
Quote: Batriders: LMAO .. These sick beasts are pure delight, if you see an enemy go all air.. start spawning these
They die far too easily against anti-air to be much use.
Quote: Shaman: LightningShield + Bloodlust is GREAT
Sorceresses are better. Spell Breakers kill them massively. Druids of the Claw are better at the same thing. Dryads beat them. Necromancers raise skeletons. Banshees possess.
Quote: Witchdocters: These are best VS noobs, or if you have some strat that needs a few of these(but always have 1-2, just for the spirit ward)
See Shaman.
Quote: Tauren .. Great unit.. is seriously lovely.. great tank unit.
Dies horribly against air.
Quote: Spiritwalker: I only use this spellcaster if i have a lot of tauren.
Spirit Walkers are very good even if you only have a few Tauren.
Quote: So EVERY unit is good. Undead can't brag about that.
Not EVERY unit. Maybe 3 or 4.
Heroes:
Quote: Blademaster: Hero Killer Deluxe. Causer of Confusion.
Granted. Although they die easily.
Quote: Farseer: Wolves/Lightning = .
Spell Breakers. Mountain Giants. Dryads. Otherwise good, though.
Quote: Shadow Hunter: Healing + Hex + Wards. Only good skills? What to choose?
Nothing too good, though, except for Voodoo.
Quote: Tauren Chieftain: Great Aura, AoE, stun-AoE, reincarnation.. Nice
Slow. Die against air.
Having said that, Orc aren't that bad. They're just not that good, either.

Humans and Undead are imba. Orcs can easily be crushed in the late stages of the game, while the Night elves are all around usless.
I usualy play with the undead rushing out neburian towers and then Ambs and Necros. I like Dread lords, Liches and Dark Rangers/Death Knights.

-- IMO Undeads were the top race... They could make the best 3-hero setup:
- Knight: - faster move and regen aura+ heal units
- Lich: slowing Nova+ extra 7 armor for your heroes and units
- Crypt Lord: -invincible (+Armor+Hp+HpDraining Ulti), stunning hit, little bugs that were either wonderful as a hidden spy when burrowed near a mine or a forest or they were useful cause the lich and the knight could "eat" them so the knight had unlimited Hp and the Lich had unlimited mana...
-- And their units were strong as well... For Example the "Mass necro+SKELETONS tactic) or the "defend first Frost Wyrms later tactic"...
-- Not to mention that their building style was also the best (like the Protoss in Star Craft - just place the base of the structure and it will build itself...)
-- A very cool race indeed.

My favorite, of course, is humans. Why?
Okay types of units/heroes. Gryphons and Archmage, some footys at start to defend, get some rifles going but tech fast. Level your Archmage to level 5 and one you get aviary get it pumpin, okay this IS NOT RECCOMMENDED FOR SOLO BUT STILL, send your gryphs to back of his base and shoot out his castle, if you can. Otherwise just blast out his peasants/peons/wisps/acolytes. If there's a building right near edge then kill that. As I said it's NOT REC FOR SOLO!!

All of them are balanced.
I like all except orc, but, if i must choose one faction, it's night elf. It seems that in the end, my favourite faction in most rts games always the most exotic one (like protos of SC, or eldar of DoW).
