Mark knelt down on the ground. He took out his empty cantina, and pressed it down on the soil.

He flipped to the plane of water, and the ground around it seemed to dry out as water was drawn out from the earth to fill the bottle. Mark noticed the elf leaning against a tree nearby.

Mark stood up and walked over. He held out the bottle.

"Thirsty, friend?"
He couldn't help but notice the drow's hesitation. Mark smiled.
"It's clean, from deep within the earth."

As i look around, everyone seems weary from the long battle, not many people got to sleep before the attack.

I walk back to the ambush i setup, and pull out my bow. I shoot arrow after arrow into the net until most of the goblin scum seem dead.

Isildur: So where do we go from here?

I watched the mage fill up his canteen and wondered how such magic was possible. Than again, I never was much for magics of that sort, prefering simpler spells that enhanced ability, such as one's speed or strength through simple chants or song.

Smiling back at him I replied curtly, "No thank you. I keep mine on me and it's full yet. I rarely drink from it so hardly worry about going thirsty. And as you can see," I lifted it up, "no goblin sword or arrows pierced it so I'm quite all right. But thank you kindly anyway."

Mvass walked up quietly to Ike, and quietly said, "I need to talk to you. It's important."

Edit by RSF: Use the name Ike. It's not difficult to read. You have failed to edit your own post or even bother to correct your mistake on using the name Ike instead of Gorman.

Mark frowned.

"Suit yourself." And drank from the flask.

He saw Isildur shooting the orks.
"NorthEast from here, the Keep. We should get going, lest we need more supplies before we even reach the place."

"I need to talk to you in private," Mvass whispered. They walked a few paces away. "I'm... how best to say this... worried about Mark," Mvass said quietly. "He seems fine to me," Ike replied. "I'm more worried about what he may do to us," Mvass replied. "What do you mean?" Ike asked. "He has been acting rather strangely. He was possessed. He said so to me. But what if he wasn't? I don't know what the thoughts are inside his head, but I'm cautious around him. He is a spellweaver, after all. I told him some drivel about the guardian of the Keep being dangerous. Of course, I'm sure we'll have no trouble with it. Mark, however..." Mvass explained.

OOC: Sorry, I forgot.

I eyed him suspiciously.

"Why do you come to me of this? Do you not trust Mark? I'm sure if he was still being controlled we'd be able to notice something at least." I said.

It didn't make any sense to me as to why this one, of the group, would single himself out to talk to me alone. I was sure Richard was already suspicious of me, but now being dragged off to one side by...this man... I had to think of a way to get back to the company and to do so quickly...

Richard dashed through the woods. He couldn't see all that much in the dark and it was difficult to be sure he was following the right trail. He stopped and quickly cast a spell that to his eyes illuminated the night. Every footstep he could see perfectly. Almost mmediately he spotted the only set of orc tracks running away from the campsite.

Sprinting off after the trail, he noticed that the orc was injured or carrying an awkward heavy load. Being that he saw the orc take off with only the navidial, he assumed that the orc must have been injured in its left leg, since the spacing of footsteps was staggered rather than uniform throughout.

After about a minute, Richard caught the orc in his sights and gave everything he had. His legs and lungs burned from the long dead sprint. He pulled out a dagger as he closed in on his prey. Once Richard had closed into twenty or thirty yards away the orc finally noticed Richard and looked behind him. The goblinoid shrieked in fright and tripped over a root. As the orc was scrambling to his feet, Richard ended his sprint with a crowhop and threw the dagger, hitting the orc right in the back of the neck. It immediately collasped. Richard quickly ran over and grabbed the handle of the knife, giving it a sharp twist before he pulled it out. The orcs body remained motionless.

Rolling the orcs body over, he searched through its pockets and pulled out the navidial. Letting out a sigh, Richard carefully slipped it into one of the small packs he carried on his waist.

The dwarf sat down on a bench and touched his forehead. Almost instantly, the sleeve was soaked with sweat. His beard and his hair were sticky. The fight did not drain a lot of his energy and he was not so tired, yet his age and years of explorations made him get tired more quickly.

Hathar stood up and went to the water bucket nearby. He saw the drow near the tree and heard the magicians whispering, though he could not distinguish words from blabbertalk.

" Magicians, they are, huh? Why do the members o' the circles have to hold everything to theeselves? I am eager to know what troubles them so greatly... "

He put his head into the fresh cool water, splashing it in sides.

Suddenly, he crept when something touched his shoulder. At first, he thought it was someone of the party, yet he soon understood that it is not one of them. The black crow was gazing at his back, stabbing his beak into the hard skin of the dwarf, so as to force him to look back.

" Where were you, thee bloody pigeon! " Hathar laughed to himself and slapped the bird on its right wing (he squeaked from pain, though the dwarf did not understand what happened). " Were you feastin' on the dead orcs ? " he grinned, brushing the black feathers of the crow.

The bird jumped from his shoulder and landed on Hathar's left hand, releasing a small scrap of paper.

" How are you, my friend... It is long since I received news of you. Either the bird did not reach you or you got in trouble. I have heard something happening near where you were heading to... " the dwarf stood astonished by the words of runemaster in the paper. How come he knew where he was heading to? "Yes, I have ears and eyes everywhere and I know you and your mates are going to that bloody fortress... " Hathar fell on the grass, not knowing what to say. He knew. He knew about the keep. And the stupid dwarf did not dare to ask the runemaster about   it. All he cared about was those runes that were not of use yet. " Do not, I say, do not judge yourself for the actions you made. I should have told you about that earlier, yes, but I knew it was not the time for it yet. " the man seemingly guessed what Hathar was thinking at that moment. " There is more to you than meets the eye, young dwarf. And to your friends as well. I will keep in touch with you and I hope you will do so too. And please, keep an eye on my crow. Sometimes, I do not seem to understand him, but heed my words - he is not a normal crow and you will soon realize that yourself. Regards to you. "

Hathar lied back on the grassy floor. He saw a black ant marching on his naked chest. That runemaster... Who is he? What, how, when he does what he does... Is he one of the magicians too... Bah, they do not spend their time playing with the dwarven runes. There was a magician once... The "Windrunner", as the dwarves called him. Bah... He can't be the one.

Visions flashed in his mind for a moment, as he lied on the green, and the dwarf stood up, confused by what was happening lately...

" Who knows what will happen next... ? "

Mvass said to Ike, "No. I'm not saying that he's still possessed. I'm saying, what if he was never possessed? What if he wants to kill us all? Well, you seem unworried. I hope you're right. I'll talk to some more people about it." Mvass walked away.

He walked to Hathar. "Hathar. I'm worried about Mark," Mvass said. "How so?" Hathar asked. "I think that Mark may have some malicious intent towards us," Mvass said, "He said he was possessed. But what if he wasn't? What if he just wants for us to take care of all of the traps and monsters in the keep, then kill us from behind? Or he might have worse motives. He might be allied with the guardian of the keep, whoever he is. I'm wary of Mark, and I think you should be too."

Hathar looked straight into mvass's eyes, seemingly piercing him.

" Yes, I am distrustful and you all know that. Thee say that Mark might be evil, but I cannot be sure that you are not and nobody can prove that as most proofs are simply fictionate or a cause to lie. I look into Mark as see a wise man inside, yet a demon or another kind of evil spirit is lingering inside, trying to take over our mate. Me thinks it is the Keep itself trying to prevent us from reaching it. By each step we take, we are drawing nearer troubles... and the troubles follow us wherever we go. Heed my words, young magician. Beware of most of us here, but be sure to trust me or Anunhalion - those elves do not seem to be evil. I, on the other hand, somehow distrust that drow Ike, but I am sure I will investigate this matter of his later on - a mysterious fellow he is and I am eager to know more... Fare thee well and let me take a nap!"

Richard returned to camp and found that everyone had returned to camp and had begun going about their business as usual yet again. A few were talking amongst each other off to the side. It appeared as though the group somehow did not trust each other. He had had his suspicions of Ike, a man who still seemed contrived in his mannerisms. But even still, the drow had proved himself to be a valuable asset nonetheless. The orcs would have made off with the valuable artifacts required at the keep.

First he wanted to know who in the hell called everyone to retreat from the campsite. He walked up and called to everyone with a stern voice.

"Who's bright idea was it to call everyone away from the campsite? Do you know how lucky we are to have lost as little of our supplies as we were not to mention, some of these things to be irreplacable? They weren't here to kill us. They were here to loot our camp. Well? Who's bright idea was it?"

Isildur: I did. Im sorry Richard, i was not aware of such valuables. Seems as though you are keeping more from us than it seems. Besides, would you rather die at the blade of a goblin, or take a risk and live to fight again?

Isildur walks off and mutters to himself as he pulls out arrows from the goblins bodies. He was a fair way from the other members but even from here he could sense tension between them.

Isildur: No use wasting arrows eh? hehe

As Isildur stomps on a goblins head to help dislodge an arrow from his neck something catches his eye...

Isildur: Not again, why does this keep happening?

That symbol... that blasted symbol that tormented Isildur continually was burning on the goblins forehead.

Isildur: Richard come quick!

Surprisingly, the symbol continued burning once Richard arrived.

Isildur: Richard what is this symbol??? Please tell me it is not that of the Cauldron... or the Guardian. But please, do not tell the others...

The elf was right. His plan did get rid of dozens of goblins. He knew nothing about the Navidial. Isildur called him over.

"Richard what is this symbol??? Please tell me it is not that of the Cauldron... or the Guardian. But please, do not tell the others..." Richard looked at the half-elf .

"What are you talking about?"

Isildur points to the goblin.

Isildur: Burning on the goblins forehead. This symbol has been appearing to me in random places all my life, but now more than ever. It started happening when my father died. He used to go exploring for days and come back with rare weapons, artifacts and gold. Thats where my bow came from... i have a feeling he used to go exploring the cauldron...  Please dont alert the others to this.

Richard knew that whatever Isildur had seen it was putting him in distress despite the halfelf's attempt to appear apathetic.

"Show me what you saw," he said as he looked behind him back at the rest of the group. They all seemed to be paying little attention. "Draw this symbol you saw in the dirt."

Isildur hesitated for a moment and looked at the others. He grabbed a twig off the ground and drew the symbol in the dirt.

"Can you see that clearly? It's quite dark out." asked Isildur. Richard nodded.

"This is the symbol you saw on the goblins forehead?"

Isildur nodded. Richard reached into his pocket and pulled out the navidial.

"This is one of the things I was so eager to protect from the goblins."

"A pocket watch?"

"No this is something very different. It's a magical compass and it comes from the Keep. Look here. This is the symbol you drew to me yes?"
