Here is what I promissed:

4. Some new features:

I would like to have the Caravan and Prison back from homm4. But it wouldnt have to be in all towns if someone doesnt like it...
Also universities, where heroes can learn some skills amd abilities (that are need for their ultimate ability). Also doesnt have to be in all towns.
And armories that produce basic artifacts, potions and vials like in H4. Also runes could be included. Here are some examples:

-sword – increases heros atack skill by +1, cost 750 gold, if hero is a melee attacker, increases is damage
-shield – increases heros defense skill by +1, cost 500 gold
-plate mail – increases heros defense by +2, increases mana cost of all spells by +1, cost 1000 gold
-staff – lowers mana cost of all heros spells by -1, cost 1000 gold and 1 gem, if hero is a magical attacker, increases his damage
-telescope – increases heros sight range by +1, cost 500 gold

-potion of healing – works like basic cure spell with spellpower 5, cost 500 gold
-potion of cold – enchances unit with freezing attack, duration 3 turns, cost 750 gold, 1 mercury
-potion of fire – enchances unit with armor damaging effect, duration 3 turns, 750 gold, 1 sulfur
-potion of invisibility – casts expert invisibility on the target, cost 1500 gold

-vial of fireball – casts advanced fireball (3x3) with spellpower 5, cost 1000 gold, 1 sulfur
-vial of frost cloud – casts advanced frost cloud with spellpower 3 and freezing effect, 1000 gold, 1 mercury (to frost cloud - its an incomplete spell that I will soon add to the spell list)
-vial of despair – casts mass expert sorrow in the area, duration 3 turns, cost 1000 gold
-vial of quicksand – casts advanced quicksand, cost 750 gold

A Skyroad! – another adventure map level above earth (like adventure map on clouds). If someone thinks it wouldn fit into the world of Heroes, IT WOULD!!! It was already in Might and Magic: Clouds of Xeen. This would contain two new terrains: Cloud terrain and Cloud sea. The cloud terrain will be a normal terrain to walk over (looks just like cloud), it will be native to Tower (see new towns). The cloud sea is a cloud that an army cant walk over, to go through this terrain you will need a skyship (buy at skyshipyard!). And through the spaces between the cloudy terrain would be possible to see the adventure map beneath. And there would also have to be lots of new adventure map objects like a stiartower that makes the way between the ground and the skyroad.

What do you think? Is it good? The list of the basic artifacts, potions and vials isnt complete yet, so if you have some ideas, they are still welcome! (You can also think of some runes) And also we have to make a system how would they be used: As in H4 like a hero casting a spell, or units having iventory and using them before their turn? I suggest the first alternative, that potions and vials should be put into the spellbook. Any ideas?

If were making suggestions from other homm games then can you have the castle gate in inferno (from homm3, or any other towns)again. This was handy because then you only needed one hero to guard the town then. Plus you can travel for free (no travel points wasted).

Caravans - good, and it's going to come out in the expansion anyway.
Prison - I don't remember how it was in h4, but if you meen capturing a defeated hero and holding him in town, then it doesn't suit h5.
Universities - a great idea if one hero can learn only one skill and/or one ability.
Armories - looks like a cheap version of the artifact merchant. If this is the case then:
   1) the minor artifacts should cost much more, I checked the artifact costs and an artifact that increases one primary skill +2 costs 4000gp. Check this place for artifact costs:HOMM5 Artifacts
   2) potions and vials resemble the wands that are already in the game so you could craft wands instead and again the cost should be higher.
Skyroad - hmmmm...... I don't know... sounds interesting but controling 3 layers may proof to be very difficult...

Here is how it works: Your hero is defeated, he doesnt abandon you and is lost forever, you can obtain him in the town where he is prisonned! With this feature you cant lose heroes! And also if a player has captured some heroes in his prison, he can recruit them for a very high cost that is also according to the captured heros lvl (also could be influenced by diplomacy...)!

I havent said that only one skill... I was thinking that exactly two skills need for the ultimate ability and two abilities according to the skills that can be here learnt and that are need for the ultimate ability. (only available for heroes of the same allignment as the town, other heroes can learn only the abilities that they are able to learn)

The prizes I made arent very precise, the armory never runs out of stack.

Wands and scrolls could also be sold here (great idea!). And the difference is that you dont recharge potions, they are only usable once, you have to buy a new one if you used it.

I know it might be difficult with these, but it sure is a good idea! (isnt it?) And maps also dont have to be made that difficult... only small maps with 3 levels or if there is a skyroad, there doesnt have to be underground... and so on.

Caravans - a must
Prison - a nice way to recover good heroes, so yes it's a two way road but nice.
Artiacts in town - good idea, would provide a much welcome boost to hero stats at the beginig of the game.
Skyroad - maybe something like the skypassage of Oranos from Age of mythology the titans. I don't know about another map at a superior level though.

Hey, wait a sec... this isnt very need if we have a caravan... but if I think that this travelling would be instant, its quite good! Maybe an upgrade of the caravan! What do you say - teleport caravan?

Well even without prison you may get your hero back through the tavern if you're lucky enough... Anyway I still think it's a h4 feature that should remain there, this is because the prison encourages a big number of heroes which is good for h4 where heroes can fight without an army, but bad for h5 because too many heroes just get in your way.

Two huh... I don't know... The problem is I don't want the ULTIMATE ability being so easy to get... if you have two skills AND two abilities for free at least 4 levels sooner ("at least" because you already on the right path and don't need to waste levels on the spare skill). It might be a good idea and might be not... I guess the only to know for sure is to test it in game.

Added dimensions is good, but I don't like the idea of skyroad. Well, true that in might and magic, you get to go to heaven, and that is precisely what I don't like. Sounds like you are playing god, if you get what I mean. Anyway things that exist in might and magic need not be applicable in Heroes of might and magic.

How about going underwater? It will be very limited though, since it will be restricted to water objects. Perhaps something else? Or the elemental planes? Another dimensional space?

University is good. I recall being able to choose to learn out of two skills, instead of getting random skills from witch hut. It need not be related to the ultimate skill, as the current ultimate skill system is not good. It forces everyone to use the same skill set-up, and not every skills are useful to everyone.

I agree that ultimate skills should not come easy, but alternate paths should be proposed. Making it easy to obtain the ultimate skill is simply not enough.

Making a skyroad is all well and good, dont forget this could meen more bases in maps from * to 12, that is a good idea (*=whatever), that it'ill make it more calergin**, YES! (**please excuss bad grammer)

You seem to have no idea about the university. You think the hero that visits the university automatically gets 2 skills and 2 abilities for free??? Well, thats wrong! To learn 1 ability/skill you usually have to pay 2000 gold (what is usually your daily payment) and the university also should cost a higher price.

And to the skyroad: why do you think it doesnt fit? You are not like in the stratospere or in heaven, its just a road made by wizards of clouds! And how do you mean *feel like God*? There is no God ni Ashan, just the elemental god dragons. In Might and Magic it was a road that was connecting towers and castles (hey! Now I got a great idea! What about an available building in a town like: Skytower? - if there is a free place in the skyroad above your castle, you can build a connection to the skyroad! Good?).

Edit: Prison - maybe its not a that good idea, just wanted to know what you think about it.

I know exactly what the university is, but at the beggining you have enough gold for that and if the university requires a high town level than it's not quite so useful because by then your hero already have most of his skills and developed.

Thats exactly the point - high town level (or maybe only city hall as requirement). Or the cost for learning skills could be highered to 4000 gold. I dont know... but this is sure the missing feature. I think it HAS TO be in H5. But as I said, not in all towns.

And besides, are there any ideas about changing (or adding something to) the list of basic artefact equippment and potions/vials(/runes)?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to say that adding a new dimension to the game is not a good idea. I'm not sure which versions of might and magic you had played, but I had played Might and Magic VI - IX. In those game, you get ported up into heaven and be among the angels, which I find very odd.

That's why I proposed an alternate elemental planes or dimensional planes to replace the skyroad. Whatever ideas you have can still be implemented.

Cantaresg, I have played might and magic III-VI, I think. There it was a cloud reachable from the fifth floor of a tower. And I have found no angels. And I think adding also new planes is a great idea! Wor example the infernal plane or the plane of summoning? Or for example you could travel in time to the past and even meet the faceless! Wouldnt it be cool?
