Personally, I think it would interesting to have a section with discussion of Tolkien and the influence he's had on our perception of the major races as they appear in the game.
____________
What will happen now?

I know this is an old thread, but it seems the place to discuss this.

Dungeon-Blood Fury. The furies come from Greek mythology. They are the 3 "kindly ones" (do I detect sarcasm here?) who punish exceptionally evil men after death, in Hades' realm.

Academy-Magi. The Magi were the educated men of pre-Zoroastrian Persia. When Zoroastrian religion and philosophy was adopted, the Magi became the keepers of the eternal flame in the Zoroastrian temples. Some of them were considered to be in opposition to Zoroastrian thought because, being educated men, they worked to keep the knowledge and traditions relating to other "Avestan" gods alive. ex.: Verethragna, thought to be a derivation of Agni, an early Indian fire deity. Anahita, lady of the waters, a pre-Zoroastrian fertility godess worshipped in the southern steppes east of the Caspian Sea (modern day Turkmenistan)

Academy-Rakshasa. A mythological creature of India, thought to be cannibalistic. Rumored to be tough fighters, often appeared on the battlefield when the slaughter was well under way.

Haven-Griffin. Just an interesting addition. The Griffon was one of the royal symbols of the Pahlavan Kingdom (an Iranian-speaking nomadic tribe that lived in the area that Anahita was commonly worshipped. They invaded Persia about 100 years after the death of Alexander "the Great" and ended up evolving into the settled Parthian Kingdom.)
