Stronghold in New Expansion
Hiya All,
I was just wondering, because of BargainMon's asking, what is the best town to beat stronghold and do you all think that the new expansion will overcompensate for the the supposed imbalance and make it too weak? Are you guys dying to try out a new town also? I know I am although I am finally just getting the hang of this Academy.

Too many variables to consider, especially if rumors hold true and the skillsets get a complete revamping.
However, if recent history with the Fortress is any indication, the Stronghold will be overpowered.

I want to see how they work out Stronghold's racial and the total lack of magic-should be interesting.

i dont think fortress was ever overpowered as such, just noone knew how to deal with it.Same will go for the barbarians i expect

Well, you should try ancient vampire then when he is fortress. If I could I would insist he be in sand underground with three legs for his hero only. Geesh he is death true death with fortress.

Agree. I even think maybe it's the weakest of the available factions. Look at its very complicated town structure, compare that to Haven. Defenders and Berserkers are also units I rarely utilized during battles. It's compensated only because of its special Rune magic.

Hmmh... too bad it's not listed in the "vote for the strongest faction" thread. Would like to see if it's really acclaimed as that strong.

Overpowered? can be, can be very weak too - depend on player and map, unlike alot of players i have no problem playing against it...

We don't know it yet but i suspect Stronghold will be very strong town to play whit. Like Fortress is very strong but it has some 'weaknesess' againts fast creepers like Wizards and Warlocks etc. Orc's will have same problems cause to their low initiative (excpecially against high initiative fanctions like Sylvan and Inferno)
I don't think there will be huge problems to balance the fanctions againts each others. There is good strategies for everyone. Only what makes me bit think about balance problems is the Alternatives and the new skill structure to gain Ultimate Skills. Need not to worry but still..

Hiya Gang,
Sorry for sounding like a newbie but I was just wondering if there were any thoughts on how strong the rune charge is early on versus the say having 70 gremlins and I mean starting day one.
