this makes me sick, all you do is listing what it costs him...and what does he get fo it? how do your 2 lives benefit from it? bah, but thats the way you guys always been...guess im not sad that toh ended here after all, better to loose it than that all around snowing all the time

First of all, I want to give a HUGE public apology to ACULIAS!!
Even though my example of his situation was not intended to harm his character, it obviously botherd him so I want to tell all that I am saying sorry to Aculias for my poor judgement in using him as example without asking him first.
To be honest I dont know Aculias much, and as he pointed out I have judged him soely by how he acts in Zone. Is that fair? Maybe not. But at anyrate, with tensions running very very HIGH lately with closing of TOH... things I can see get blown outta proportion much more than they maybe intended.
As for the Undiscovered Worlds tourny, Yes I told Aculias he could have a spot IF IF IF someone dropped out. I didnt think it was fair to let him or anyone else step in after the tourny had started and take place of a forfieted player. The deadlines where strict. SO I think Aculias just misunderstood me there, and assumed I was being dicriminative toward him I was not.
Aculias as I told you once I suggested starting over, and once again I apologize if my using you for example breacheed our start over, it was in no way my intention, was just a harmless example.

I was calculating some stuff:
season 1 thru 3 server & domain costs $50/month x about 20 months = $1000
season 4 till present server & domain costs $100/month x about 12 months = $1200
new custom automation & admin device season4 to present about $4000
the 12 heroes4 prizes sent out at end of season 4 cost him $570
other cash prizes over the seasons total about $800.
Total: ToH costs to date about $7600.00. lots of money, no?
forget the man hours of course
oh yes um he has $240,000 in student loans to pay.
Yes it may cost more money, but I think that all Heroes 3 fans wouldn't mind closing a bunch of pop-up ads if we could keep Heroes 3 TOH. You could also ask people to click the banner ads every time they report wins/losses or even just visit the page. If that helped the costs of Heroes 3 TOH everyone would be very happy with it. My other thought is that if everyone donated 2 or 3 dollars through pay-pal that would make hundreds of dollars to help support TOH. If the problem is money, then I think that there are plenty of TOH fans who would try to make some compromise. Additions to the volunteers would be needed of course.
Would you like to help in supporting Heroes 3 Andi? You said yourself that you wouldn't play Heroes 4 TOH. And not Myths either. What if Myths adopted the old TOH format?
If we start with ads and small donations from people that could cover quite a bit of the costs. If you got advertizements from other computer gaming companies, they would probably pay well, since the clickers already are on the computer quite a bit.
I know Ves said a long time ago that he didn't want ads on his page, but I would click them several times everyday.
I go to edgeemu.com very often to download NES games. There they have banners to click at the page where you download the files. They used to have pop-up ads. but everyone was clicking them so much that they made an announcement there would be no more pop-up ads, because everyone was clicking on the banners enough to support the site.

I now understand about your tourney & think I may of got out of hand to so I can apologise yes & I apreciate your apology & lets try to start over & not judge people how they speak but to see who they really are more then ever you would be surprised

If the cloning of the automation would have taken place, then MaH would have been adopting the old ToH format for ranks. They would have had the exact same point values as old ToH and things would have worked exactly the same as they have been.
As for money being the issue, yes it is. I know that some of you think it's wrong that Ves and Mel keep bringing up how much money they have spent. But, $7600 is a lot of money no matter what way you look at it. All they are looking for by mentioning this is a little gratitude for the tremendous amount of time and money they have contributed.

Time will tell but...
Mel keeps on bringing up the cost of running toh HOMM3. Won`t those cost be about the same for toh HOMM4 ? See where I`m getting at? No? Fine, let`s switch subject.
What is Ves' purpose in making toh HOMM4 ? If playing activity, daily hits on his website is part of the success he seeks then why not running both HOMM? In report game section just implement a type of game as: HOMM3 and voilą. More activity, more people happy, more shinning success.
But that`s not what Ves seeks at all. For some obscur reasons he prefers HOMM4. Prolly even will play only to see if he can make it to the top  He wants a league ''He'' can have fun in. It`s just too bad it meant dropping abruptly thousands of HOMM3 enthusiasts in the process.

I think most obvious reason is because Heroes 3 is played out & is an old game & whats to do somethang new.
Ever since this Heroes 4 was mentioned there was plans on running this game.
He was very optimistic about this plans his dreams for how to set them up.
I for one may give it a chance you guys dont have to if you cant apreciate what he wanted for all this time selfish ungrateful you guys are like a spoiled child of his.

It is really sad to see many of the H3 players practically begging and pleading for Ves to keep H3 in TOH in some manner. Especially the longtime Vets.
I is NOT NEWS that all along Ves stated once H4 MP came out and was deemed stable enough to support online play H3 would be taken over by MAH. So it happened maybe a few weeks earlier and much more abruptly than planned. His tourney, his choice.
Sure he closed down this season abrubtly, that is his perogative. We are merely blips on the radar map and until you can see this, you all are wasting your breath trying to get H3 back in TOH.
Hey, instead of all the moaning and snowin..deal with it, suck it up, its only a game not a way of life.
If you still want to play H3 play in MAH, if you dont like MAH...well make something better and show us how it is done.
If, like me, getting very tired of H3 anyhow, I will wait to TOH supports H4 and play that.
If i dont like that..well i will play online golf or something....

frank u seem to forget that rob only plays heroes4 now, and ENJOYS it, so why should he spend his time running something he doesnt play, hum? So if u want to know why its that simple.

so, what need more? Melissa clear enough Ves position.All simple, he support that he like .And here money not main point. He dont like homm3 anymore, heroes 4 his favorite game now. Players?! its garbage...in the world enough another people,who will play homm4 and make him happy . But where is garanty that he will not do with them same , if he will love another game, AoW2, for sample?!
What can we do now? Just learn this lesson for future.Just now we havnt choice, we havnt another similar league. But I think , I hope , I'm sure that its only "time busness".

you are right, ves ows us nothing, but i owe neither you or anyone else anythign too, you dare to write my name on toh page saying im the reason toh closes, and im the mean person...whos the selfish snow here heh?
i could really cry if i hear oh ves puts so much work in, sooo much money...if he wouldnt benefit in any form from it too he wouldnt do it...thats so sweat...i tell you what, i may be rude from times to times, but from me you here the truth unlike from many "nice" guys around here.

I wouldnt too if many people can only give blame etc, but was it that bad?? Maybe I'm blind but I never say so many snowing about TOH, ofcourse I read some post from Andi etc, but just didnt pay much attention and it was about HC only, not TOH itself.
But if he doesnt wanna pay $900, then is there a possibility that we pay it?? Or even better that we make the automation system for TOH 3, cause I think there are enough guys in TOH that know little or much about programming, I know a little myself too. So maybe 1 or 2 guys can make the new system together? I think its just running a different database next to the H4 database, prolly there is a seperate player database so that would be not too hard I think.
Please let me know what u think about it Mel/Rob?

TOH didn't die when Ves closed Season 5....TOH dies when we had to discuss about the closure here in libary instead of TOH board.
and it really makes me very angry when i c u melissa posting here after deleting all our posts on TOH board.

Well.. I've been holding out and holding out.. but I guess I can't any longer..
I guess all that I can say.. is almost all the people arguing and such are my freinds.. well online buds anyway.. And it is kinda rotten to see all of this going on.
I am not trying to say "can't we all just get along" or something dumb like that, because obviously in a diverse world this is not possible.
7600$ is a PILE of Money, and I am sure Ves has gotten much "worth" from it over the years, watching TOH grow and progress. And now he wants to watch H4 TOH grow and progress in the same way.
This is a FREE service we have been Mass Blessed with ( hehe ) and we all owe Ves and all TOH volunteers a huge debt of thanks for the many countless hours that TOH has provided.
I know I will be responded with things such as.. Well its H3 we have all enjoyed yada yada yada.. and Any other tournament could have done it...
BUT... and a BIG but..
TOH DID! and VES did.. and I think thats what many of you are forgetting. I beleive strongly that were it not for TOH.. no offense meant to Bastards, Myths, WW, HK or any other toruney I might have forgotten...But without TOH Heroes3 online would be as it is in the GameSpy Arcade... 3-5 players at ANY time during ANY day... well except that horrible day the zone Zone went down.. I think 15 players found there way to gamespy.
BUt Ves/TOH and despite what anyone can say Ves is/was and will be again TOH... we are not a "union" of players that can demand things from his obvious generosity.. And without Ves/TOH season 1,2,3,4 who knows...
Xarfax, Jinxer, SPlexx, Andi, MOtor, Me, JB, Frank, Flamingo, TheVInz, Kuma, Midnight, Rychen, Tewilligar, Pandora, Yawacko, MKL, ZUd, ect ect ect...
Might not still be here.. playing Heroes... you can say what you want about that..
But really if the zone had contained 25 players each time I came online when I was first a N00b I would not have come back after a few weeks.. Damn with 90+ players it was tough for the little Plebe to find a game.
So thats my postiion...
Sure I am disappointed and would really have liked to continue the season.
I really don't agree with the Drastic "train hitting brick wall" end.. But I can Accept it..
And finally I can accept, support and RESPECT the decision that was made by a tourney / Persons that has Accepted, Supported, and Respected my Homm3 Addiction for the past 2 1/2 years..
So finally in closing.. I hope no one Individually has taken any offence to this.. And hope to see you all on the Zone playing some Bastards games or a myths game ... until then...
