too hard a choice
just played a game where i had the nastiest of choices. I always hate it when it comes to the necklaces to wear to the party. Sometimes yer cape can be troubling as to which one is apropriate, but nothing makes for a harder descision for the well dressed hero than what type of necklace to wear. Played a game just other night and the worst of all situations arose. What ta wear? I pulled necklace of bliss, +3 morral/luck necklace and the pendant of negativity!! 
I was using dessa the log chick. I lagged behind in stats if i took off the necklace of bliss. Yet my opp had shown soly early in game and his main was neela who starts with scholar. The map was HG3 and i'd been unusually lucky with my joiners but i had no leader or moral arts and 1 of the largest groups of joiners were 9 ghosties I alrdy had bad moral but the ghosties were killin me!! How did i resolve the situation? well I didn't. I was so racked with the indescision nthat i forgot to shift my main force back onto my main hero when i went exploring in the middle of the map. I also forgot to take off shackles My ops main smacked me for an easy win. Oh well 
I find it so very annoying that there are so many good necklaces and i really hate the choice when it must be made

I realy like this thread.
I'm just picturing you guys in fornt of your monitors looking realy frustrated.

um
When you are standing near your castle and a hero comes out of the subterannean gate. you defeat it because they are easy. next turn another hero comes out and it is more stronger. then this just keeps on happening until i go into the sub gate and see this whole line of heroes!

incredibly annoying
have been unable to get on zone for 3 days now.
this is really annoying
even more annoying is the fact that i've tried all of men's fixes and nuttins worked!!

When you sit in the Zone waiting to play....and you never do. So you post on the board 20 times.
This is why I like playing in divisions/leagues/kingdoms, with set opponent. A person can setup a game. Show up and start playing 30 second after entering the zone.

arrghh! the same old maps regurgitated!
- i actually find this to be more amazing than annoying, but annoying none-the-less:
map: west vs. east
my opponent on his island found Angelic Alliance. What do I get? RING OF THE MAGI!!!
I suppose what makes all this worse is that I would've won without these artifacts
this has not only happened once, but TWICE!!! On the SAME map!!
needless to say, I have removed west vs. east on my choice of maps.
- playing "recruits" who you find out know the map like the back of their hand ... when according to record the map hasn't been played.
- playing ANYONE on dw who has played dw over 40 times (when you've played it twice)
- players who refuse to play maps (which neither side knows) because "I don't know that map .... let's play dw"
- players who say "gogogo" on a 2 minute time limit.
- battles where the ONLY spells used are: implosion, resurrection.
- playing luck maps like west vs. east (but only when there's combination artifacts)
- there exists one pet peeve I have, and no one else I know will share it with me except for the people who play random maps:
it is that in ALL the popular maps, the streets are littered with gold like a dwarven fairy-tale. They seem to purposely DROWN you with gold on week one, thereby dictating only one singular strategy on how to play the map. ie: building lvl 7 creature dwelling week one; spend spend spend; and develop your hero for 4 hours only to die because he has implosion and you don't have resurrect.
it is because of this that I have taken up map-making MYSELF.
but over all these, by far the WORST ... is my ISP. It's the ONLY available thing in town, is only twice as fast as a 56k, and disconnects me randomly
NEVER GET QWEST DSL!!!
I've called the customer service line dozens of times, done EVERY tinkering thing they have in the book, reinstalled my modem (the overhaul) four times, reinstalled WINDOWS, and they've even sent out THREE sets of repairmen to check my line . . . and the repairman said "I can't find anything wrong, but if it really is randomly disconnecting as you said, then it's probably something wrong with your hard drive."

My dear wiggy. i have a few things that could possible easy your mind, or make you more aware.
Combination artifacts ONLY appear in the place of relics if all players playing SOD, on a map that IS NOT sod...
So, how do you fix this problem. Simple, find out of he is running SOD, or Heroes Complete. If you both are, find the map you wanna play..(this would require finding a map and editing it before launching the game, or Launching picking a map, editing, exiting, and relaunching, a lengthy process in most cases. but then again its heroes.)
If you dont know how to do this, its easy. In the map editor, Go to "Tools" and then "Map Specifications", Under the "General" Tab and "Map Version" and then hit The Dot Next to "The Shadow of Death".
Wiggy, You should keep this in mind when looking to see if players have played a map, based on looking at their TOH Record. IT IS ACCURATE FOR SEASON 4 ONLY. There is three seasons missing. 2 years worth. Since everyone had to re-enroll in toh, a player such as Flamingo could have come in under another name, and it looks like hes never ever played DW, and he has no experince...but he'd obliterate you on DW.
Just something you should always be aware of when playing someone, never judge a recruit by his pink clothes =)
I dont much like battles with only one or two spells used, but if you wanna win, you use what is given to you, and you're no gonna choose Magic arrow of implosion, or say...naw..he wouldnt like be ressurected my hydras...its how the game goes sometimes.
I can tell you about sucky ISP's. i am connected through PacBell DSL, or rather used to be. i am on 56k now. i called em up and they wanted alot of money to fix it, more then i had.
I hope i helped you out a little and opened your mind, and anyone else who reads this.

I've noticed that if you step on a dead stack of creatures, they can't resurrect or animate it
PacBell DSL . . . ugh! sounds bad, I take it you live in the west coast (I grew up in California). My local ISP is Qwest DSL . . . you might have heard stories about this one.

I hate Battlemania
I hate that map. Becuz, I always got captains hat, boots of leviathation, bag of gold or thunders helmet... Whereas my opponents got titans gladius, heavenly helm, sentinel shield or heavenly shield etc...
Once, (the most lucky person I ever seen) my opponent got sentinel shield, titans cuirass... and heavenly helm... :-) I know that there are only 2 relics for each player on Battlemania map... The third relic - heavenly helm- was in the sea:-((((

I really hate it when!!!
I really hate it on any map when you are playing a great game and you discover that you dont get any stat boosting artis and your opponent has them all....there must be something that you can do to fix this.
The other thing is when you end up building guilds in all your castles on maps like sd3 and the hg maps and dont get any decent spells....or even worse when you dont get any town with a guild over level 3....then you really have to pray for magic books or recanters.
I also hate it when you get to your utopia and you are ready for a great battle and find that its got one black dragon....this really sux..

your opponents turns take them SO long(ie; Lord_Dracos, Zud, Vulture, Tim554, Titan just name a few ) that they lull u to sleep with the 10 min active timer buzzing softly in your ear........ zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

yes agreed with mad_unicorn... .those players who take forever on turns, especially in battles. Ive noticed it really doesnt make them a better player, but perhaps boring the other side they use the opponents lack of weariness by the endgame to make them slip up. My own impatience makes me rush it in the end with long games, and end up screwing up.

I hate games that end swift and aburptly, where there is no fight, nothing. Getting caught with shackles with one troop on, and getting swept aside. it annoys me to no end, playing for three, five, eight hours or more just to be killed with no contest or chance to fight at all.

quick endings
Anfi, There is only you person to get mad at for a quick ending - Yourself.
Whenever you take your troops off your taking a risk unless you know where your opponent is, and if dim door is on the map. Spells like view air can be very helpful to determine when you can take your troops off.
I know the quick ending suxs, it has happenned to me b4 and I was very mad and annoyed. First at my opponent but I have come to decide that it is my own fault for taking my troops off. Especially after when I loaded the save and found I would have slaughtered my opponent. If not for my greediness to get the little extra movenment. But it was my own fault.

i never said it was anyone elses fault, but the first impulse is always to be mad at them, not you. but you can never always have knowledge. they could be hiding kyrre...and that hero that seems very very far away could be on you in no time.
