baratorch, can you please take a look at grove town, Era mod? The TBFRTVRN.def from Cosmetics folder overwrites the Grove new tavern graphics thus not clickable ( I see there are also other fortress cosmetic fixes which will conflict, is there a way to skip them if new town?). Grove replaces fortress.
Thanks

After the latest update the hero info-panel always show up in battle, which is a nice feature in itself, but it would be great if this was a tweak that you could decide on for yourself. I understand the purpose of the feature, I do, but the screen feels slightly more cluttered to me now. I might be used to it, honestly, but right now, at least, it's bothering me a little.

Hey, is there way to make ATB bar like in H5? Now you cannot plan your attack ahead as you do not know what unit takes next turn.
Also enemy player gives example blindness and I never know on what moment I can take it out - everytime I remove it, enemy throws it again.

It is not necessary to have ATB bar in h3. You should know creature speed. Phoenix will always start as first. You need good timing or wait with casting.

Thanks for the option to toggle hero info display with 'I', Bara. It even remembers the setting when you quit the game. It's perfect.

My friend and I gave a try to the HD mod, and got to a point where the game (on my computer) always crashes.
We only played for a couple of hours so it's not a terrible loss, and I'm not asking for a solution to the error, as we didn't bother ourselves to fix it, taking it as sign to stop playing after seven hours (we finished the game from the day before without the mod, and then gave it a try on a new map).
I love the quick army and artefact transfers, recruiting all units at once, not needing to count hexes in battle, the increased field of view and generally all the changes and the fact that they don't change the gameplay, just make things easier.
My question is whether the mod is normally stable or not? I want to continue using it but I really don't want something like this to repeat after investing 20 hours in a map. I played many games on the Complete edition and never got an error.
----------
Hope it's not too much for a single post, but I'd also like to offer a few suggestions:
1. Add the range of creatures that will die when attacking a unit in combat.
2. Add a background over the world when in battle or town.
3. When in world, align the resources to the right, so they are next to the calendar.
I just realised that the infamous HD edition took care of points 2 and 3, in my opinion, pretty well.
Big thumbs up for making stuff optional, these suggestions should be too.

@indianlover:
To be really honest:
No the HD mod is not stable.
There are still a few bugs and crashes. But if you are able to reproduce it, or you have a crashlog.txt file, you can send this to baratorch with a small description what happend and he will fix it within a few days.
I already reported a handful of bugs, which were fixed quickly.
So every day more and more bugs are fixed.
The HD mod is not "full of bugs" or unplayable, but also there is no guarantee, that you will experience a game without bugs/crashes.

I should add that I mostly play HotA + HD mod.
So maybe without HotA there are less bugs.

Do you guys ever walk around using the arrow keys?
I would love to simply scroll through the world using arrow keys.
#Feature request 1#
Situation so far (4.207 RC1):
Arrow keys: walk
Ctrl + arrow keys: scroll the map
What would be more convenient:
Arrow keys: scroll the map
Ctrl + arrow keys: walk
So I consider it a good idea to switch those or make an option to switch those.
#Feature request 2#
I also like the often mentioned idea to show not only the damage range that will be done, but also the range of possible killed enemies.
#Bug?#
This post claims a shortcut for changing the order of towns / heros. ctrl+click = up, shift+click = down.
This doesn't work for me (4.207 RC1). Alt+click works, but that only brings a hero to the very top, which makes it very uncomfortable to resort a hero e.g. from position 5 to 7.
#Shortcut?#
What was the shortcut to cycle through stretch filters again? It's hard for me to choose just by name. I have to see and compare.
I know a shortcut exists, but I don't remember it.
It should be mentioned in the Heroes3HD description under "Scale Filters".
@indianlover
I didn't experience much crashes so far. If there were any, then mostly in multiplayer.

Use the Numpad, it's built in the base game [although not in the manual strangely] and allows all 8 directions already so it's better than arrows ever could be.

I believe this requires an .exe patch (similar to Yona in ERM) to get it to work. The HotA team worked extensively on the game .exe to allow modifications like this, it's probably a stretch for SOD. Doesn't hurt to ask but I would be very surprised to see this ever come to SOD.

This used to work, I remember using it as well - no clue why it's gone
Don't know for the rest

On numpad arrows it's quite useful. For basic arrows I sometimes use them to pick up resources next to the hero.

Thanks for the tip. So it is even more reasonable to scroll with the arrow keys if you can walk with the numpad better anyway.

I think I remember that the shortcut to cycle through stretch filters was something with spacebar or returnkey.
Got another
#little Bug:
The kingdom overview can't be closed with Esc key as all the other windows.
#little Bug 2:
F5 menu can't be closed with Esc or pressing F5 again or clicking into the map. You need to click an item or at the border of the menu to make it disappear.

Thanks for the response. I forwarded the error prior to posting here (I know how much it means to the developers, being a programmer myself).
It's good to hear the mod is still and actively being patched. I will give it another try as I can't believe how fast it spoiled me with world field of view and quick army management.

That's unfortunate. I assumed the data is accessible, or at least derivable (damage formula is a known thing after all) from within combat, as it must be used eventually by the game.
----------
By the way, one thing that's always annoyed me is the fact that you can't see the number of available creatures in a dwelling when in world view. I find myself revisiting them all the time.
Now I'm not sure if such a feature would fit with this mod, as in the vanilla game, the information essentially can't be accessed by means other than visiting the dwelling. What do you guys think?

Yep, as you said, it's a bit annoying. But you can try using your brain to simply remember the numbers
I would consider it too gamechanging if the numbers were displayed.

hmm.. isn't this a feature of HoTA then?
If I remember right this number was always displayed via righclick while playing HotA + HD mod. I think creatures also accumulate in hota.

Hello,
I am a new member so I can't create a new thread and I can't seem to find my problems from scanning through part of the forums.
I have H3 Complete with Era 2.46 installed on it on a new computer, Windows 10 64 bits.
The game runs just fine - I play H3 Complete only, haven't touch Era yet.
Problem is that the game runs 'new computer test' everytime I start it (Scenes with New World Computing logo spinning and the intro video showing Queen Catherine arrive on a battlefield). And all game settings are not saved, they are all reset (combat speed, movement speed, view options...) everytime I close the game.
Seems like there is an error with the registry or a setting files that is missing which cause the game to forget every settings and thinking like it is running on a new computer, just guessing.
Any advice wound be appreciated.

Your game might not have the privileges to write to the registry, as you noted yourself, try to run it with administrator rights. Else, try to put the game outside of 'Program Files', e.g. C:Games.
If you use HD mod then make sure the tweak '<Sys.WriteToIniInsteadRegistry>' is set to '1'. It should be so by default.

Hello, I have a question. In this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Os25Sa243A) at the beginning on the town/hero selection screen, you can see when the player right clicks on the hero portrait, he gets an expanded hero information screen, where he can see more info like the hero's secondary skills etc. as well (you can check it out around the 4:30 mark). Since he is playing SoD + HD Mod, I'm assuming this is an HD mod feature (sorry if I'm wrong and this is the wrong thread to ask this).
On my game when I right click the hero portrait I only get the vanilla window with the specialty. I tried combing through the Tweaks in the HD Launcher, but couldn't find where this is activated. Tried re-installing the mod, but that didn't help either (I have the newest version). I also asked the player himself, but he didn't know. Any ideas?
