Some questions are simple, other not so simple, some completely left of centre and others only fans may get. All questions have been supplied by Trogdor through the book "This Day In Music" by Neil Cossar. Now then, on with the questions.

Quote:
(SENECA FALLS, New York) Inspired by Alan Shepard, the first American to journey into space, a 14-year-old from suburban Chicago wrote a letter to NASA in 1961 asking what she needed to do to become an astronaut.

~She got a curt reply: Girls are not being recruited by the nation's space program.

"It had never crossed my mind up until that point that there might be doors closed to me simply because I was a girl," recalled the letter writer, better known today as Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, as she was enshrined Saturday in the National Women's Hall of Fame, along with nine other inductees.

Honored with her were Maya Lin, who designed the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.; Dr. Rita Rossi Colwell, who became the first female director of the National Science Foundation in 1998; and Betty Bumpers, a crusader for childhood immunizations who was Clinton's predecessor as Arkansas' first lady.

"I don't think there has ever been a better time to be a woman than in the United States of America in the 21st century," Clinton said in an interview.

The first known women's rights convention was held in 1848 in this upstate New York village. The hall, which opened in 1969, acclaims women who have made valuable contributions to society and especially to the freedom of women. In all, 217 women have been chosen by a national committee of judges.

Six women honored posthumously this year included pilot Blanche Stuart Scott, a barnstormer in the early days of aviation; Ruth Fulton Benedict, an anthropologist whose 1934 book, "Patterns of Culture," became an American classic; and Florence Ellinwood Allen, who in 1934 became the first female judge appointed by a president to a U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

I sure did enjoy this small article from cnn.com. It was written by the "associated press" or something. (I'll try not to hold that against em) Hehehe, anyway I think it belongs in this thread in support of women's rights. A ... post shortened to 2000 characters.

i don't know how many of you take notice of even the very details in this community, but I try to find [ and fight ] every single bug in this community as it is an enormous contribution to the board [ helping the community to grow was and is my job ]

well, i take notice of everything strange happening in the board. i think i may not be the only one to notice that.

so to say, i shall start with the bugs:

in most cases, when you do the fast-click [ or a simple click ] on the avatar of a member, it leads you to the profile page of that member.

however, in some cases [ it happens quite often for me ], it misleads to a wrong direction. it leads you to a profile page where the member's name is still written, but everything else [ status, post, quality count, avatar ] vanishes.

However, the status is still shown, but it is always disgraceful, no matter if you have many qps. Your post count status is not written.

Furthermore, the register date is " december 31, 1969". There was a similar bug before, when you got IMs with no text, no name written and a registed date "december 31, 1969" or "january 01, 1970".

it mostly happens when you quickly try to enter two pages, or return to a profile page you once browsed. sometimes it happens when u enter an unvisited place [ member directory ].

i find it very strange...

NOTE: this bug may have been noticed before, but I thought i would remind ya

HOW NOT TO NOTICE THE BUG: simply hit the refresh button or copy-paste the url and click go

also, a bug that is actually not a critical bug, but still... a bug [ i regard it as one, at least ]

if u click on the posts section in the profile page, it leads u to the members' posts' page...

normally u can see a post you have once posted and click the link to a page... next to the post, the name of the forum is written, ie: library, pther side etc.

the bug is that if you see a post you have once posted in the new "welcomes" forum ... post shortened to 2000 characters.

I was realy happy that are Liverpoolian working-class brothers won the Champions League...if not I would not have been able to show my face in school...

Eventhough it was an unxpected win, but the more glorious...And Jerzy finnaly showed his true face known from Feyenoord...

The only thing that dissapoints me is that no one from Slovakia will acomplish such an accomplishment... too bad 1969 won't repeat...

Speaking of Monty (presuming this is the right place to ask this question). A couple of years ago, I got my hands on a copy of his "A History of Warfare", from 1969 or thereabouts, and I was wondering if you'd know how reliable his opinions on the commanders and battles of old are?
