The youth, and why they are headed into Hell
This new century, as we know it, is screwing up the youth. On their mind are bongs, alcopops and burnouts. Therapy has failed to help their futures. So what is the problem all along?
1) Nightclub Culture and the Demise of Reality
Every teenager now and then would have been to a nightclub at one stage of their lives. This has breeded many problems.
1) Rape
The rape levels are slowly became worse. This is because young girls have found it too easy to sneak into nightclubs, and also of drink spiking and the availability of party drugs.
2) Spiking of drinks
Drink spiking is on the rise and rise, and men are mainly to blame for the death of party goers via drink spiking. Not only is it an unseen danger, but there is no test available against it.
3) Underage entrance and drinking
Nightclub security has not been tight enough. Not only can a 15 year old girl get in, but also be able to buy ecstacy and alcopops.
4) Availability of party drugs such as ecstacy.
People have learnt nothing from nightclub culture. Not only that availability of drugs are on the increase, but more people are suffering too. I live about 70 kilometres from Adelaide, which is unfortunately the MDMA capital of the world, and people have been known to disguise MDMA as ecstacy and calling it 'Red Mitsubishi'. And the worst bit is that there have been more deaths from overdoses from MDMA. Even worse, people will still go to clubs, even though they know that drugs will be available.
2) Hoonism
I know this is on the increase, but when young people get their p-plates, all they want to do is to do burnouts and streetrace. I know of people who do this in real life on the roads and in carparks, but there is no safe place for these people. Remember, some people are sleeping at night and need their sleep, only to be awakened by these hoons.
3) Delinquency
Why do kids get fake ID's? I know of a kid who isn't 18 yet and bought cigarettes. Why he did I have no idea. Just about the other day, An Asian schoolkid was given a lot of money to help him finish year 10. Instead he got himself a fake ID, and went into Adelaide's Sky City Casino, where he blew all of his student money. Why did he do such a thing?
The youth are heading in the wrong direction, and just need guidance. Maybe they should not touch their bongs.

Speaking Of The Youth.....
When a child commits a crime, should they be punished like an adult? Should kids go to jail for murder? Or should they be sent to juvenile re-habilitation centers? The reason I ask is because some kids kill people at the age of 10 and 11 mostly with guns.

Quote: people have been known to disguise MDMA as ecstacy
Ecstacy IS (or should) be MDMA. The reason people sometimes chat about "pure" MDMA is because pills are often not pure. They might have a little caffeine (pep pills), aspirin, or speed in there to make them a little cheaper.

No he's not. He's just retired. I bumped into him in a bar last week. Apparently the work was getting a bit much so he took a holiday (back in 1821), no-one noticed that he was off so he decided not to go back to the job. He spends most of his time playing golf now and has got his handicap down to 3.

Actually, I am very optimistic about today's youth. Today's is a generation of the extremes, and is bound to change the world. Some, go to the negative extremes and for that I am sorry, but at the same time I personally know many who will become scientists, politicians and artists like the previous generations have never known. This is not easy for me to say, as I have great respect for older generations - what with my CD collection not including anything recorded after 1970 - but the kids today aren't as bad as they seem.

I wouldn’t worry if the young have sex too often, or do drugs, or anything too much. Its much more tragic if they lead “good” lives, but are still in search of themselves, without understanding and love for one another.

Vadskye, my post was very sarcastic, provocative and genuinely funny at the same time. Its one of those post that shouldn't be taken to seriusly, but no matter if you agrea or not with what i say it brings that uncontroled smirk on the face of the reader.
It was't anithing deep or with some hidden message, and it was suppose to be taken without much concer, but at the same time it was so arogant that it was on the limit to be defined camp.
Yours is plain boring.

Trogdor, this is a Qp Hunter Thread. Don't Deny it.
There is nothing wrong with the youth. You have your good people and your not so good people. There isn't much wrong with just chillin with your friends getting drunk or whatever. I'm drunk right now but I'm still a good person. People just need to Chill Out. Stop thinking the world is so bad because the good things in life aren't advertized. The times when a person helps out another person. These times are the ones that show hope for the future world. But yet again people have changed over time, people are different when they are raised by an electrical box that shows images; not always good ones. But still people are good and heart and have common knowledge. The youth is looked at from a negative perspective becauset the non-youth only see the bad. And the youth that agree with them are Geeks or maybe even Cybergeeks. The people just need to readjust their attitudes and Chill Out. Stop making so much the drama. The Drama is Killing Me! Agh! Actually I'm chill and everybody else should also be. People just need to take responsiblilty and step up to the plate. It would be unbelievable.

I wasn't refering to Nietzsche, but to my use of that Nietzsches statement.
Are you trying to say that i tried to steal that to make some not-so-educated mebers of this board think that its something I made up?
Well that could probably work out on some GTA message board, but trying to do that here would be a cyber-suicide.

"God is dead" - Friedrich Nietzsche
"Nietzsche is dead" - God
As for the topic, I agree with IYY. This generation has a lot of potiential, and the ability to maximize this potential. At least in the West.
My hope is that the people who actually do use their potential skills in a positive way will make it possible for people living in "the 3rd world" to maximize their potential in the next generation.
But then again, there's always a bunch of people who doesn't do this, and it's a well know fact that it takes at least 50 good people to right the wrongs of 1 bad person. If it's ever possible to right it...

Ok, youngsters from the First World. Deliver us, uneducated, without perspective, poor skinny children from the Third World. Maximize our potential by building your factories here, so that you may suck out the blood and the intelect from these desperate bodies. Without you, our potential is not utilized to the fullest, we all know that.
The ideological crisis in the West is stronger than ever, terje. I wish I was wrong.

Now, Svarog. I used to agree with you on many things, being part socialist myself and definatly an anti-Bush enthusiast. On this one, however, I think you are a tad too pessimistic. It could be because I am living in Canada and in an area where most people are true intellectuals who care about this world and about what will become of it (in our home town, the Free The Children organization was created, my grade 12 computer science teacher spent years volunteering in Africa etc.) Maybe in the US and the rest of the West the situation is different, but I believe that this generation of our's will solve many of the world's problems. Hell, it may even, uh, how do you socialists put it, shatter the shackles of capitalism. No. As the old rednecks and businessmen become old and feeble they will see that the children ruling the country is not as much as a nightmare as salvation.
Damn, I got carried away here. I don't believe in it to such an extent but I felt like being a bit dramatic
