| I got my one wish about Heroes IV!
A while ago, I posted on the Altar that I was really hoping that some of the little bits of humor that made Heroes 2 so fun and seemed sadly missing in Heroes 3 would be brought back. So, having messed around a bit with all the alignments, I'm happy to say, the grin factor is back. Just as a few examples:
The monks with their Monty Python bit
 The sorceress removing her wig
The little dance satyrs do to move
The 'stun' effect from squires ( a circle of stars and little birdie noises)
Leprechauns disappearing into their hats when they die, and walking like they have a severe chafing problem.
 Vampires 'blah' again
The way trolls scurry forward ...

All in all, I spend a lot of time grinning. Now, if I could just stop hitting the 'defend' button when I really wanted to cast a spell ....

| Naaah! You're all wrong!
The one that REALLY needs to bathroom would be... Pikeman!
If you see him walking from the back you'll notice that he's either ready to ...... right in his pants (
), or the pike is much too heavy for this guy.
BTW, talking about funny stuff -  Be sure to read the Artifact messages, some are really good

| Blah!!  My friends and I have used that saying ever since we started playing HOMM2.  It's the funniest thing when a buddy will call up and go "Blah" and I will go "Hey dude, come on over".  Or when the chick at McDonalds asks if you want fries with your burger and you do the vampiric "Blah" in the drive-thru speaker.  Heheehehee

 Until next we meet....... Blah!

In HoMM2 when you picked some sort of flail up (I think it was the giant flail of dominion), you'd get to know that a clumsy giant killed himself with it.

| Some more funny stuff:
The "Cowardice" spell - a chicken

As I said the arts messages are good, i.e.:
 (I don't remember exactly)
Vial of Acid - they say to you that some poor guy marked his Vial of Acid as a Potion of Healing.. and... drank it.. so you found another "Potion of Healing" in his back pack, but marked it right..

You know... it's better the way they tell it..

| Also funny is the way the female order Mage hero attacks in melee.. She does a spinning kick. The female druid hero does a matrix style kick (the one trinity does). The archer disappointingly just whacks the enemy with his bow (it's not a melee weapon genius). |

| A few more things that keep me grinning:
Watch the male Order Mage sometime ... or the Sorceror primping his mohawk

The Red Dwarf Mines: obviously somebody at NWC watches a certain BBC program

One of the maps has a whole little village set up in it, including a couple of inaccessible stacks of Nightmares ... so that there are 'horses' running around in the paddock

Sprites do a little flip when they're waiting

 Skeletons keep losing their swords

No.. Have you played an old game called Might and Magic IV: Clouds of Xeen? Well early on in the game, there was a location you had to go to for questing called the Red Dwarf Range. And the mines you had to go into to kill the Dwarf King was called the 'Red Dwarf Mines'. That is where they got the name from, not some BBC TV show. M&M4 is much older than any BBC series.

BBC started in the 1930s. PCs weren't even around then. Nor, clearly, were you ;-)

The series in question is from the 1980s I believe, but it's named for a type of star so NWC might have named it after either

 Anyway, enough history ;-)

 I like the mermaids

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I got wiped out by them at the start of the Chaos campaign :-)

| No, I'm pretty certain NWC didn't name it after a TV series. If anything, the name was purely coincidental. Red Dwarf they used in M&M series. If they got the idea from anywhere, it's from that. ____________
