Yes vision is usefull, but mostly for those with Diplomacy/Fly/Dim Door who want to gather an army really fast
IMHO blind is helpfull in certain battles.
Now dont laugh. My all time favorite: quicksnad
Ive won quite a few battles thanks to this spell.
Im serious.

LOL
I won a battle once with quicksand too ... but still lost the game.
It was against terek, expert haste, with no flying units ... and I HAD to stop him SOMEHOW!
for me it's always a toss-up between:
remove obstacle? or precision?
whoops ... I mean:
blind? or lightning bolt?

I'd say blind. I love blind so much that I think it could possibly be the best spell from levels 1-3. The only downside is that there are many creatures immune to it.

I'll say Blind.
As cool as Lightning bolt is, it's not very effective if the armies are very large or if your spell power is relatively low.

Guardian of the Blind...
Blind is actually much more effective than even many high level spells. I mean, it basically removes a stack of creatures from a battle, no how large and powerful. Even if your opponent dispels it, at least they aren't able to cast an offensive spell on you that round.
Even Implosion isn't guaranteed to disable a stack of creatures.

Blind. Against a computer opponent I lost a town which ordinarily I probably would have been able to hold, but the computer had Blind, and he took all but one stack out of battle at a time and then opened up on each one while his Expert Ballistics (I assume) wiped out my towers and opened the gate. I almost beat him, but I should have been able to wipe the floor with him if it wasn't for Blind.

Interesting that so many people have cast votes for blind. It's certainly a powerful spell.
What I *also* find interesting is that these spells don't seem to have much effect from expertise - that is to say, I can't think of any 'mass' spells from second level, and lightning bolt etc aren't much effected by expertise. Quicksand is, perhaps?
Blind *does* benefit from expertise in fire magic - one could take out an almost arbitrarily large stack by exploiting blind's reduction in retaliation. But the spell-points required for that make it a magic-hero's tactic, and useful in single-player maps rather than multiplayer.

Blind it's nice, but Disrupting Ray is better. If I have 14 Imps and I fighting vesus 7 Archangels, of course I'll win, but if I use Disrupting Ray, my Imps will do a beautiful damage in the Archangels, and the battle will be faster.

lets make a vote - whats most annoying:
1. the bad english he uses
2. his gay imps
3. his stupid answers in threads
4. the threads he generates
