Elder Scrolls Online
As of last Friday the NDA on the ESO beta has been lifted, so now seems like as good a time as any to open this thread. So, what does everyone want to know?

My prediction: the devs of this will launch the game at the same time as a new WoW expansion, and the game will be a half baked screw up which will be a massive camel spit in the face for the whole fanbase. Later it'll be turned into a maimed f2p style mmo where they will rip off people for extra inventory space.
That aside, I'd like to ask how's the combat system? I heard they promised no continuous rape of the same 3 action skills.

Hate to disappoint, but that wasn't how it seemed to play for me. I could kinda-sorta get away with actual normal attacks at the early levels and against foes much weaker than me, but after about level...5-ish, I was mostly spamming the number keys.
Mind you, I was never able to get into the PvP section, so it might play differently.
And yes the game is subscription-based ($15/month in USD after the first month).

I do not mind paying a fee if it's a quality product.
But hey, I'm the one who pirates almost all my games.
Not a huge PVPer myself, I prefer PvE encounters.

Tried the beta, can't give details due to NDA, didn't like it. Felt like a dumbed down skyrim.

From what I've seen it's going to be like a generic F2P mmo - only not free but with a monthly fee AND microtransactions.
Yay.

You missed the bit where they lifted the NDA. You can complain all you like now.

An MMO Elder Scrolls? On paper it seems nice, with the whole Tamriel world to explore and s*it. And ES was always all about interaction with the surrounding in-game world, and now we get a bustling and diverse one.
But if you ask me the greatest thing about the game was the fact that you could explore it at your own pace, and immerse yourself in the experience wholly. I think that all those smart-asses and trolls in the form of some other living players running around will ruin this personalized experience.
On a side-note, the two part intro movies that were released were mind- blowing. Serious Blizzard-esqish mind-blowing
With Skyrim being the best game in the series imo (I didn't think it could beat Oblivion) with Dragons and it's "Nordic" theme, I don't suppose there will be a better ES game. But hey, I didn't think so before Skyrim...

Unless.. you make advanced scripting where NPC's does the exact same!
I like the idea of e.g. being able to play 2 in Morrowind and still be able to go solo and meet up sometimes and otherwise not have contact, but the big problem is that the human intervention within the game can break the illusion the game tries to persuade the player to follow and thereby ruining the experience for at least one party. E.g. one could easily imagine one player going for something very OP and destroy all NPC's, so the other player suddenly finds himself marooned on a deserted island with nothing but respawning critters.
But on the other hand, too much constraint is no go either, in my opinion. So in conclusion, it should be possible to destroy the Sun, but so difficult that no one has managed to do so.

I have watched the gameplay of some beta (probably a few of us here ahve seen the presentation with Zack) - It looked pretty frickin wicked by the time he met up with party at the scene. It is safe to say there is the same greatness of variety with environments and enemies as there was in skyrim (if not more + future content)
I believe there friendly fire inflicts no concern / damage.. Loot is rolled for each player, the way the sounds were that the goblins were great. I can tell I would easily forget lunch if I got into this.
If I knew I had some time to dedicate extensive hours per week, then I would do this for sure.
15 a month though.. And knowing my fading dedication to so many games and MMOs in the past, I have invested 100s of hours into games and have accounts I never use anymore.
But ESO would probably wipe all of my past games off the charts.

Kareeah_Indaga has honored me with the possibility to provide beta keys to anyone interested. If I'm not mistaken you then will have the same ability to forward it to more people. This is a stress test beta starting today and ending March 2nd. (edit March 2nd.. Nooo I thought March was next month!!! It ends today oh well)
Non disclosure is lifted as well so we are free to discuss ESO and post pictures that do not have player names if I'm not mistaken.
IM me any email address (or post here if youre comfortable) and I will use their system which will forward what you need to get started.
The key# will be in the email but you may have to look closely. From that point there is some standard stuff to do like register an account, then use the key under "redeem code" here after logged in

Within 5 minutes of starting the game I could feel the game is very intuitive. I am also impressed my laptop that a year ago was mid/low line runs this so smoothly.
They definitely have done a lot of right things in the common sense department than any other MMO I have played. To specify everything I have already noticed in an hour of gameplay would take a long time.
There were a couple of cons but the shoulder view in third person actually has a more comfortable feel than I thought it would. I am not sure I will ever enjoy the style of the voice my toon makes while I am power attacking but I am starting to not notice it in the same way when I first started.

There was a voice selector in character creation, or is that not what you mean?

oh ya I missed that
Either way it is awesome. I can't speak for later levels but the use of magic while using melee weapons is a really good feel. Breton throwing sun bolts, healing, and attacking close with more magic or a sword.. I eventually made it to my quest marks but its to fun to get carried away.

Not sure, I am a breton though, and I see a blue flag with a lion on it.
I was feeling that march 2nd was next month
So sad it ends tonight. I got all my work out of the way though so all I have to do today is eat and game
