Poll Question: H7 Skillwheel Poll
As the subject matters and there is a lot of opinions, I suggest to centralize the discussion under this poll :
What sort of skillwheel system would you like to be implemented in H7 and why ?

Poll semantically suggests that only the first option will be "fixed and improved". Either remove it, or add it to the second option as well.

I did not play HoMM 6 besides the Demo therefore I voted for the old random one. Although you sometimes only got the choice between two things you did not want I liked it in general.

I voted for "Both systems implemented".
I hope that the developers will implement classical random Skillwheel where you can pick a new skill or advance old one in every level-up. In the same time you can receive 1 point per level-up similar to H6 system. Those points you can use for perks anytime you want. If we have 6 perks per skill and you can pick only 3 will be great. Also the perks could be graded - you can pick 1 out of 2 in the range 1-6 level, the next tier will be unlocked after level 6 and the last one will be unlocked after level 15. If such system is implemented I'd buy the game without a second thought.

I'd go for random and reduce the randomness through pop up manipulation - Mainly because I doubt the team would implement both.
First, there would be an option between two new skills and two upgraded skills.
Second, an option between two basic abilities of the chosen skill and two advanced.
By limiting the abilities to the to the ones from the skill you just picked, you eliminate a big part of the randomness. Better yet, you have a wider array of choices than in H5. The only downside would be that you gain both a skill and an ability in a level up but it all would depend on how potent they are.

Why? In my Eyes it was not the option to pick your skills that was the problem in H6, but the fact thet there were no valid alternative ways to focuse your hero.
If I had the H5 skillwheel whit free use, I still would have several interesting ways to chose my hero. In H6 I did not have many valid alternatives.
The Problem in my eyes is not in how we pick, but if there is more then one valid tree to chose from.

I voted for randomness but I admit that you score a point.
H5 skillwheel with no random choice would be very interesting too!

Random skill tree all the way. As close to H5 as possible, with maybe a little better ability to manipulate the chances to get a desired perk, but not 100%.
I really do not like pick and choose skills. That leads to constant re-use of optimized builds, which will inevitably result in a game where absolute skill balance is not possible to achieve.
