Landsknecht is such a bad name
The German Landsknechte (singular Landsknecht, pronounced [lanʦ.knɛçt]) were colourful mercenary soldiers with a formidable reputation who became an important military force through late 15th- and 16th-century Europe. Consisting predominantly of German mercenary pikemen and supporting foot soldiers.
The German compound Landsknecht (earlier Lantknecht, without fugen-s) combines Land "land, country", here in the sense of "lowlands" and Knecht "servant, vassal", here in the sense of "foot-soldier". The compound Lantknecht was used during the 15th century of bailiffs or court ushers. In its application to mercenaries, it is first recorded in the 1480s, perhaps coined by Peter von Hagenbach and intended to indicate soldiers of the lowlands of Swabia as opposed to the "highlander" Swiss mercenaries.
As early as 1500, the term was re-etymologized as Lanzknecht, suggesting a derivation from Lanze "lance; pike"
How can a champion unit use such a name£¿ Zweihander is better£¬they are elite solder of Landsknechtes£¬using a zweihander£¬the two-handed sword.

And Titans were the forefathers of the Greek pantheon. Gargoyles are drainage systems with creepy faces. Justicars are officers of the monarchy. We can go through historical terms all day and point to their real-life counterparts until we've completely ruined any mystique to individual terms.
Look, I'm not entirely happy with the name either, but trying to point out the historical basis isn't really the best argument.

my point is not about history£¬landsknechte is a German word£¬means land servant£¬footman or pikman in English£¬is too ordinary. You can't just call a champion footman or pikeman in other language.
Zweihander is not a very good name too£¬means two handed sword£¬ but the new champions do use a two-handed sword£¬ not a pike£¨lanze£©.

They are trying to be too original. Better to use a name that has been used before than a horrid sounding german word for pikeman/footman. You can't have a pikeman as your champion.
That name sucks

I think the name is ok. It fits the sort of rough looks of the unit I think, and the combo of Landsknecht/Swordmaster sounds much better than Swordbearer/Swordmaster.

I also dislike the new name, for me Swordbearer was okaish name and definitely better than new one. It sounds like I am playing the game on German(and no, I didn't like those Sanctuary names in H6 either).
But I have no problems with units not exactly being what they were in historical events.

It's a little bit different with me. The downfall started with H5 if you ask me, though looking back the game wasn't that bad. It just didn't have that "charm", that element which made it perfect like H3. And while H4 wasn't perfect, I still find it one of the greatest TBS games I have ever played.
My brother, which is also a Heroes fan, said that H5 is on par or even better (in some elements) then H3. And I find quite a lot of fans stating the same...

That didn't really debunk anything.
Fans were happy with H3. Regarding the Forge and Conflux however...
