((Okay, I think the rule I just made is a complete game changer, so let me explain.
Basically, all subsequent rule posts will have to quote my rule post above, so they will include this (I made a different post for chatter to avoid any potential confusion):
Stevie said: Quoting stated reply becomes mandatory,
Romania situates within European territory.
What this means is that they will technically have 10+ words by default, the quoted text itself and also "Stevie said". Now, since the word "said" is also monosyllabic, I have effectively overridden two rules with one stone, mine and Wook's. Moreover, since the post correctly fulfills the requirements of previous rules, some of those requirements are automatically cleared by carrying over (but not all, so careful). At least this is how I reason the ensuing changes, but maybe Geny thinks differently. But if not, then this might just be a genius move given the circumstances. What do you ladies and gentlemen think?))

((AlHazin and EnergyZ are officially out.
I would say that unless a rule specifically states that it overrides another rule, for example by allowing all letters when some have been banned, it only stacks. And if it stacks in a way that makes posting impossible, it isn't valid. But I'll wait to hear more opinions before I make a ruling))

((Respectfully, I disagree with your reasoning for validity and the way you define overriding.
Overriding should essentially mean a new rule making it impossible to respect an old rule. If the new rule specifically (directly) targets another for overriding or if the effect is simply implied, it shouldn't matter. All that matters is the necessity of respecting the newest rule first and foremost.
Validity should be defined like this:
A. The validity of a core rule is axiomatic.
B. The validity of a new rule is given by the fact that it respects all core rules and every other valid rules.
C. The validity of an old rule is given by the fact that it is not being invalidated (overridden) by a newer rule.
If those principles for validity are respected, there will be no logical inconsistencies, ever. Also, stacking rules can only happen with valid rules, you don't draw their validity from the fact that they can stack, they can stack because they are valid.
As a conclusion, this is how you make a new rule post:
1. You first check for which rules are valid, and therefore should be obeyed;
2. To determine a rule as valid (explained above), you should establish that:
- it respects all core rules;
- it respects every other valid rule made up until then;
- it is not invalidated by a newer rule.
3. You create a new rule post that:
- respects all core rules;
- respects every other valid rule made up until then.
- may or may not override another rule;
Now Geny, some pages back you said:
Geny said: ((As for your question, Stevie, no rule can "delete" another rule, so your rule would only override other rules as long as it itself is in effect))
From this, I can understand that no rule can be made invalid permanently. If that's the case, then a rule overridden by a newer one can regain its validity if the rule that overrides it becomes invalid itself. I find this logical and also a lot of fun, since people can find themselves at the end of their wit in a clustersnow of overriding rules (which is what I was going for the last time).
So basically we could have:
Rule 1: "Posts cannot contain the letter 'U'." Valid Invalid Valid
Rule 2: "Posts have to contain every vowel." --- Valid Invalid
Rule 3: "Every post must not contain the penultimate letter of the English alphabet." --- --- Valid
Based on the rules and indications up until now, I believe what I said is accurate. That leaves in my mind the only possibility that this might be undesirable for other reasons, but not because of logical inconsistency.))

((The game went smoothly for two days despite some pretty pressuring circumstances given by the the two rules of 10 words and no monosyllabic words. The next rules only added to the burden of creating valid replies, yet it was still fine. Then, after I made a rule that was aimed at relieving that pressure a bit, the game came at a stop. I find that very disappointing and for that reason I am out of the game myself.))
