Upcoming Tournaments Page!!
~New Tournaments?!?~ I know that a lot of you have been wondering what tournaments are going to be coming up. We have posted a couple of threads in Heroes Community about it, but it was my thought that it would maybe be more helpful if you had something to look at before you gave us your opinions. SO, I would like to introduce you to our newUpcoming Tournaments". Some of the tourneys listed are ones we have run in the past and some are new ideas we have set up. Please take a look and let us know what you think here. Opinions from all players welcome  ~ Raven

*I think clans would be cooler with modified rules.
And, dont you think that prestige and ranking pts prizes would make these tournaments more intriguing?

Please no more team based tournies i think in this day and age of H3 team based ones are very hard to pull off with the lack of overall numbers(players).

As some of you might know by now i aint playing this much right now, but i am still around to make observations and such. And correct me if i am wrong but isnt only mapmasters the tournament that has gotten somewhere so far?
I dunno... i just checked at h4 TOH...they seem to have one tournament going (clans) and i think this could be a good idea. Look at MAH/TOH now..there are like 7 tournaments running...they seem to go off one by one with just a few weeks notice.
I dont think this is giving these tournaments a fair chance, a tournament like nations for example. With the right commercial around for it and if given a real chance this one sure has a great potential in my eyes. As things turned out now there werent just nations going off, there were several other tournaments too.
And i dont think many players here has the time on their hands to give map masters/TOH tag team/nations and maybe fighting for a shield on warlords now and then a fair chance.
So while all you ppl are thinking about which new tournaments to kick off i would like you to think about that some of these tournaments to close/run out first.
My idea would be to let nations run out now, and atleast temporarily close Tag team.
let warlords and map masters keep going but remember that these tournies will take some time, some players might not be able to play so many more games than these. Absolutely not participate in 2 addict tournies.
As for new tournies..kick it off once you see the need for it, meaning wait until you see the players want something more.
People has been talking about that players in others tournies seem to have more fun, well as far as i can see this is alot because of their succesful clan type tournaments going. People form new teams and get to know more people.
And a succesful tournament like that would off course been the ideal way to kick off a season, like H4 is doing with clans.
Now it seems though like people has been fed up with these team collecting points tournaments for a while, so therefor i think another bracketed tournament would be good. like speeddeamon, natives or TC
Then after that try with another addictive style but let it be known that this is the only real tournament except warlods/MM that will be going for a while. And therefor also hope that people will get involved with it and give it a real chance. And when it has, then maybe start another tournament but a bracketed one.
And off course, to get back to my quote at top from mads post... points/prestige is needed and also show this off so the players know what they are fighting for.
Just some advice from my side, being an observer can be a good thing sometimes i guess =)

Well guys, I am looking at the Native page as I am typing this......... and it just needs changed!! I see alot of interesting things comming in its future!! 1v1 single player tournament!! WOW!!

Actually Nations is in the finals, Map masters tag team. which as far as i know is over. Warlords which always runs. WoG well it really isn't a MaH sub tournament it is just for wog players who wanna play it. So yeah Map masters seems to be the only one we have open right now. I look back through these posts and I see ALOT of peeps wanting ol Native Hero back so I dunno.....

How bout a fight tournement
picture this:
1 vs 1 maps same maps for all players the first round then the map changes for each round.
map is exactly same for each player. both have cartogropher.
both start with same army same spells etc.
both players work their way to the middle fighting DIFFICULT monsters and then end up in a final showdown vs each other.
sorta like tc but also includes some AI knowledge since there is wandering creatures to take care of b4 the final combat (maybe include a cons and a hive too
that could be fun !!!

1v1 tournament
Cool idea, same troops, same spells, same everything...I guess I have played this game b4, I was white my opp was black. Wait, that was a game of chess, not heroes! 
Now serious, to each their own...If enuf ppl like this idea good luck in your games...Wait, no luck involved, well, err... best wishes then.
And for the record, I vote for random challenge and native heroes, maybe Might vs magic with improved rules.

I am going to respond to Mr. Firewall at the same time here. It is our intention to choose a tournament to start when nations finishes. Nations is in it's final round at the moment I believe (not sure as I don't do updates for it). That would give us Warlords, MM and another. We are NOT looking at running all of the tournaments on the "Upcoming" page at the same time. It was more something for you to look at so we could get feed back about specific tournaments and what you would most like to see next. As usual there seems to be a large rift in the community as far as what would be best next. We have not made a real decision on how many to run. My original thought was maybe one single player and one team based. That way there is something for everyone. But I am not sure if we have enough activity to sustain that, what do you guys think?

Madmartigan, the rules for clans are NOT set in stone. They are definitely up for suggestions and I would welcome them. Please let me know what you think needs to be changed and I will take a look at your ideas.
As for the prestige and ranking pts prizes and medals. Most of the tournaments that Kitten has designed already have medals to go with them. It was always our intention to add some prestige and ranking points to go with them. Just haven't ironed out how many as that will somewhat be decided by the level of competition. For example if there are only 10 players in a tournament and 3 gets points then those points would be less because it is not as hard to be the top 3 out of 10. However, if there is 100 players then that competition level goes way up. I do agree that we should have put that intention on there somewhere and will have to fix that. On clans I have prestige points outlined in the rules as far as how it will go. I haven't really gotten "Clan finals" finished yet so to speak so I haven't decided on prestige/rank points that would be given out for the best clans. That again however would change based on how many clans there were. All clan participants have the chance at increased prestige points however as they are given out for games played, not just final rank. I also have not selected medal prizes for final clans because well to be quite honest I don't have a good graphics program to make any and I haven't had the time to scan the web for something I thought would be appropriate. I'm not even sure what Ves used for past ToH seasons and didn't think to ask when I was asking him for other details but I will do so in the near future. For my own past seasons I used shields to denote the top clans in the ranks. Any suggestions here welcome as well.

My point exactly, i dont think there is enough activity to give two big tournaments a serious chance. And therefor both tournaments just kinda slides along.
As said in previous post, my advice would be to have a bracketed tourney now... and then really try and kick off the season with one big addictive kind of style tournament and no small side tournies running along with it (atleast to start with). Just some advice.
And feel free to call me Stiven btw.
