Well.......................................... Now I feel bad. Clearly my cynicism device is not the first thing malfunctioning. Ever since the game launched I thought you were apologetic about the game, given it's a Polish company, maybe some national pride or something else at play. So when you wrote that all is well with a smiley face, it really ticked me off. But I guess I misunderstood, and for that and the tone of all that followed, I am sorry. I find it a good thing that we can openly talk about it. I too enjoy our conversations, so I won't let things like this put a dent on that. I hope the feeling is mutual.

Apology accepted . Maybe I also got the wrong impression here, thanks you cleared things out!

Nah, I won't take a bullet for them. I'm personally dissapointed simply as a gamer that thought this game might be the next great thing, and even if it's ultimately good it will never shake of this unfavorable press anymore. It's like, I was expecting everything bad to happen: from controversies due to it's open take on some subjects to game simply not being groundbreaking etc. Never expected the scale of disappoitnment this would reach though, even if it all will eventually come to pass...

So much good was said about RED's in past months, but they blew it becasue of corporate greed and mismanagment.

Back on subject: another Steam sale and my wallet might cry. Fortunately I bought most of the things on previous sales. Though I might still pick something out as the next sale is long ways off I belive...

Yeah ancient Laser Tower Defence by Nick Martucci. I'm legendary!

My 28 lasers will the next upgrade pay 2200 and 64 useless non-upgraded lasers, those useless lasers value is 200$, if I sell. But I don't know 200 level. 18 Lives? At beginning game. Only I use a RailGun and Inverter Beam. It works. I rarely upgraded them, so I got a big interest. But..

Later on I show you a picture. How you can beat enemies.

Merry Xmas!

I'm world champion! I can't play more, when graphic bug. An ugly laser-looking. If I upgrade still laser, it changes wrong place. But laser kill enemies very fast. SUPER ENEMIES can't do it. And 191 million money, and the next laser upgrades need 8000 money. I have 26 superlasers, 26 lasers x 8000 money. Useless game, even if the world's hardest game!

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!

Hey Ghost, one month ago you asked me to test your map, which I did - fixed scripts, reported mapmaking errors, suggested changes then made correct package so it can work flawlessly on Era. I see you still didn't send the map to mapsforheroes, as told before I started.

So please tell me I didn't just waste tens of hours for nothing.

I liked Little Nightmares a lot less than I thought I would. A lot of chase scenes that relied on luck figuring out where to go while the clock was ticking.

Well I finished up Knights of the Old Republic. 17 year old game so the graphics were heavily dated but I didn't really mind. Great game except when I hit the final stretch I was ready for it to be over. So many pointless mobs to cut through that pretty much impale themselves on your lightsaber. That's when AoEs would have been handy, which I had zero for my build.

Starting KotoR 2. Going to be a sith this round methinks.

When I did my 2nd run-through in Witcher 3 I did an alchemy-heavy build with maxing out bombs, which I thought was going to be kind of crappy, but dang that was fun for cleaning up the constant trash that gets in your way and you get enough reagents progressing through the game that you don't have to skimp much on using your explosives. Those bombs do a ton of damage when you spec in them.

I just finished Last of Us 2. Truly a masterpiece in video game story telling and a nice swan song for the PS4. Man, the PS4 had so many great titles, definitely one of the best, if not the best, game consoles in history.

Well, it had a good cycle and some good exclusives, but it's not even close to being the best console in history by any metric.

Still waiting for bloodborne to come out on PC. Probably more hope in getting an emulator.

For now I'm just on and off Destiny 2 and replaying Mass Effect.

On the topic of ME I was pleasantly surprised with Andromeda, the firefights feel really authentic and the cover system is sleek.

Man, nuts to these modern AAA crunch fest, Oscar bait games.  Give me some old school gameplay!

So I picked up Heretic, Hexen, the god-awful Hexen expansion (just the worst), Hexen 2, Quake 2, and Strife: Veteran edition for under $10 this week.  That's a ton of solid gaming for the price.

I did get frustrated playing Hexen, only remember a few details here and there, but since I played it 25 years ago, that makes sense.  The game had some maddening levels.  The aforementioned expansion is complete garbage btw.  No new weapons, monsters, textures, and worst of all, no music.   Just 20 levels of misery and magically spawning monsters.

Also, what console could truly be the greatest when compared to the all mighty PC?

Tell me about it.  Between video games, board gaming, and assembling/painting minis, I have very little time for one specific hobby.

I did pick up Total War: Warhammer 2 during the Autumn sale a few months back and it's a load of fun if you like grand strategy games.

Indeed, PC master race! I did however try the new gen consoles and they're honestly not that bad. Miles above last gen consoles like, say, PS4 at the very least.

I did not buy anything on Steam this time around. Held off. I have games like Witcher 3 and Subnautica that just sat around in my library for years, waiting for me to play them. I just never found the time. Right now I've returned to Divinity 2 just to complete at least one full walkthrough, since the game is absolutely amazing and worth every second spent on it.

Must confess I'm actually enjoying Cyberpunk 77. Got me hooked. The more I play the more I actually come to appreciate it. And playing this on PS4 is not such hussle as one might think. After patch 1.06 it is in pretty decent state. I also think it might actually be the prettiest game I've seen on this console. Well, it beats everything with the amount of detail its virtual city contains, only Horizon: ZD, GTA and RDR2 comes close (I didn't play TLoU2). Those city vistas can be really mindblowing, I actually never saw an in-game city that could compare to this. At night the city truly feels cyberpunk.

C77 is far from perfect ofc. It def looks like they omitted a lot in the QA depertment. Aside from bugs, there are many instances when some things don't make sense (like your character mentioning something at one point, and having no clue about it a few minutes later etc). I don't see that many immersion breaking things, but there are moments in which the UI can be an a** or glitches or some actions might be frustrating. Well it's hard to keep track of so many things when designing a game, so there ought to be mistakes like this, but sometimes it's apparent they should've worked on the cohesiveness more, becasue it can be irritating, especially those inconsistent moments in the flow of the story I mentioned (especially if you're not sticking to the main quest line). Also, there are times when dialogues are great, but then there is so much underlines or references you actually don't know what the characters are talking about. The game can be really hard to follow and it requires a lot of concentration from you. Btw I love how you can always make a choice if you want to drink alco or not or take a lemonade as an alternative . And there are a lot of occasions to drink in this game, it is made by Poles afterall

Those who counted on CDP Red quality quests - I think they won't be dissapointed. Especially (who would've guessed) with some side-quests. There is a lot of variety here. Combat missions, stealth missions, search and rescue missions, romances etc. And there are some really great moments here - not only with character interactions or dialogues, but also when it comes to weaving a grim vision of the future: there's a staggering amount of ideas here, it has a lot of substance to it. This is something I came to appreciate the more I played the game: at times it feels fresh and innovative as far as RPG 's go and how the story can be told. The game asks many hard questions: how far dehumanization, control and materialism can go, and how low as a species we might get. And that's just a small part of the subjects this game tackles.

There are some really cool mechanics. The way you can customize your character for instance - you can be a Netrunner who kills of enemies entirely remotely (you can find these builds in action on yt) or like me go for the so-called "Carnage build" where you use a buffed up shotgun to obliterate enemies like a tsunami. So the RPG element is really there, even if at some point you're becoming such a powerhouse the game stops being challenging (though there are still high level opponents who can give you trouble - I had quite a bit of trouble in some missions). I like how the game always presents alternative ways to complete even the simpliest mission. You can go either stealth, full on berserk or something that is a mix of those two I enjoy the crafting system, and there is a system here that when you like a particular weapon you can upgrade it to keep it on you. People who like to tinker with builds will be at home here. There is quite a lot of freedom in how you can play the game.

If you go pass the occasional bugs and crashes - which are pretty random, but it actually happens while exploring the city rather in some obvious moments like combat etc. It actually never crashed on me mid-combat. I also didn't see any of those spectacular bugs where your car suddenly springs into air, or you pass a wall and fall out of the games boundaries. Not one. Pass that there is a really enjoyable expierience here. The game literally burns away hours of my time. My friend was right about it - it has this "just a couple more minutes" feeling about it.

40+ hours in, and I'm having a blast. Who would've thought as I was pretty close to actually giving up on the game at one point.

Too bad the game will always have this "scam" label about it. Yep the managment deserves all the heat they're getting. They could've hold with the release just a few weeks more, and there def would be a different response. And handled the console thing differently - come out straight with it. Now journalists will be afraid to actually nominate the game for any awards, and imo there's at least an 8/10 (or even 9/10) game here.

To tell you the truth I was never this much ambiguous about a game in my life I think...

Yeap.  The level design can be just as irritating as Hexen as well.  Monsters seem to have really inflated hit points and bosses are laughably easy with the right gear.  Pop an Icon of Defender, Tome of Power, and just go nuts.
