Been playing a lot of Heroes of Hammerwatch recently. Running around as either Big Dong Sorcerer or Thicc Cannon Wizard. Literally clear entire rooms of baddies with them in seconds.

With all the content they've added over the past year, Mojang really salvaged Minecraft. And now the cave update is like the cherry on top.

I started Torchlight 3 for mass action mindless slaughter and now I've spent several hours sitting inside my fort customizing and decorating it and trying to decide where I want to stick the carpet.
Not surprised with myself.

I remember the old X-Com. Now those were great games, just like HoMM3. I haven't tried the newer ones although the graphics look enticing.

Well you would be surprised positively I believe, the first one is quite great, I actually think i prefer it to the second one. It is a remake that deserves to be called a remake.

X-Com 2 was very good. I didn't try War of the Chosen though.
Picked up Hades on Steam. Let's find out why is it called GotY material.
I've also picked up Legend of Keepers. It's an early access game (although developers stated they released the "last patch before full release" a few days ago), but it's pretty fun. It's a "rouge-lite" where you select monsters, traps and spells to hold off waves of "good guys" (you play as a dungeon keeper hired by an agency). In between the waves you hire, train and heal you monsters, plus your avatar, as he is the final line of defense against enemies. Has this nice 2D pixel art graphics. It's turn based.

XCOM remake is really, really good. Remember to enable the second wave options Not Created Equally(that gives random stats to new recruits) and Hidden Potential(random stats per level up) before you start. They are are a must.
Red Fog(stats drop upon injury) and Aiming Angles(more chance to hit if flanking an enemy) are also staples in my games. They just make it that much more realistic.
Mind Hates Matter(no gene mods for psionics) and More Than Human(very few psionics) I also like a lot.
And once you get done with the game. There's always Long War Mod, which is simply superb.

Yeah X-COM is great example of taking an old game and masterfully recreating it. The 2nd one is pretty much a perfect game.

Hades was an experiment for me. Not my forte, Rogue-likes are a type of game that generates frustration after loosing a "good run", but Hades has taken this vice and shaped it into a game mechanic that is meaningful. It's actually one of the few games where loosing/getting killed is... fun 
And there's no bigger satisfaction then defeating a boss you thought was "unbeatable" just a few hours earlier. At the beginning I wasn't sure if I will be able to play it, but now I'm hooked.

IT has now introduced an asian themed season, with vehicle bits taking inspiration from JDM cars and the bosozoku style of car modding.
Best vehicular combat MMO on the market now, mostly because you build your own car.
