The only thing that i fear
Heroes 3 boomers. Sadly i believe this game will become new generation of Might and Magic 3. I hope they prove me wrong. I bet majority of people says "HoMm 3 iS tHe BeSt"
I want remake for Heroes 4. A.K.A Best Heroes 4 game to me. Even with it's many flaws, still i believe it is the best.
In the other hand, they have already tried different things with 6 and 7 but every step they take, i feel game becomes more "new player friendly"
They have started to kill major strategies. Yes i have played all HoMM games and enjoyed but i hope they will not return to Heroes 3 again.
Or i hope they will create new and different game.

Heroes 5 was an excellent game, and it shared a number of things with Heroes 3.
The problem is when you want to make modern copy of the game. I don't think Heroes 6 was a bad game, but Ubisoft killed it with its always online policies and stuff.

So, you don't want a game deeply rooted in nostalgia.
But you also don't want a game that will cater strongly to "new players".
And actually you do want a game rooted in nostalgia, but only as long as it's your own nostalgia.
Actually, that seems to sum up the HoMM fanbase in general.

I just want a phenomenal soundtrack. I don't care if the game runs like ass with the gameplay loop being so much warmed-over dog crap and the community being toxic as heck

So far game looks good, based on their dev blogs and "Heroes Take Turns" youtube channel it's a return to form, bringing back old and good mechanics from both H3 and H5, improving them if such need arises. My only real concern right now is price and the possibility of Ubi forcing any agenda catered towards "modern audiences" in the story, but maybe the Serbs will stand strong.

I love the "modern audiences" thing, I'm always eager to beat Tazar's crap with Neela and all but definitively, I don't won't to buy a game that forces me on-line. I've played a few matches on-line, not only of Heroes, and I'm absolutely sure it's not my cup of tea. If one of you beats me once I will wake up at night with rage dreams about sadistically kill him for months in a row.

If H4 modder succeeds AI becomes stronger.. When chess engines are from people, no computer company.. They succeeded chess engines are the world's strongest opponents.. Remember if H8 uses database, you know a very weak AI/engine.. Don't call awesome!

Considering they retconned the most prominent and arguably most sympathetic faction on the continent to be white, I wouldn't "worry" about that.

Each game has its followers. OTOH, there's a reason HoMM3 has remained as popular as it has, while other games have somewhat faded into obscurity, and that's because HoMM3 works, while every game that came after had its issues.
* For HoMM4, that was a rushed release, leading to an unbalanced game and flawed mechanics.
* For HOMM5, although it improved on many of HoMM3's mechanics (H5's perks are far more manageable than the branching skill trees of H4, and the power difference with damaging spells is highly welcome), it had much less customisability than any previous game (in HoMM3, Neela was perfectly serviceable hero in any faction, but in HoMM5 putting anything but an Academy creature under an academy hero is a waste).
* HoMM6 we all know about, a stupid attempt to make a TBS game more like an RTS one, and ending up with a mess that turned away many fans.
* HoMM7 was only slightly better than the immediately previous game, not walking back nearly enough of the terrible ideas HoMM6 introduced.

Heroes 3 od the biggest with 2 addons especially. Is completly and finished. H1&2 is completly the same gameplay but poorest content.
Heroes 4 is not the best ofcourse. Only 6 towns, no upgrades, primitive the same heroes - face is only differrece. Tragical AI. Poor city siege etc. H4 lacked a lot of good elements. And other things eg. there is not campaign animation but we see that probably was planned but cutted. Addons are very small. Telling its better than H3 is absurd.
Only you can saw that personally you like it tys best.
I agree that we have a lot of good ideas on H4. Harm that realisation is not so good.
I like both. And H2 too. Im not a H3 fanatic :-)))

My fear when I saw the trailer
What I saw is a wide-spread resources and almost no need for fighting the neutrals for that territory's mines.
No lakes, no rivers, very little mountain ranges and, most importantly, no oceans. Literally land locked(endless continental lands).
I have no idea how the R.M.G will deal with this lack of possibilities for a world map that can include an archipalago of islands with the options of Dimensional travels to other territories and, boats to reach other territories that are not currently adjacent to your current main territory.
Will it be another unpolished/unfinished game before its planned launch onto the online market? What do you think about all these humongous flaws?

I thought that the game was thoroughly launched in Q2 2025. I double checked and, I read it right.
Early could be happening at the start of April 2025 and, its official release in May/June.
