Which campaign?
____________
But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it.

Mixed. Remember you can redo it quickly enough. Spend as much time as you can recruiting creatures in each spot. Especially the second.
Remember your on time limit. but you have time all the same

Map 5: Upgrade those priests into cavaliers and upgrade those into paladins. You are very unlucky if you don't beat Tolghar with over 100 paladins

I want to ask: which tactic is better? Frying enemy ass (enlightment destr. magic , sorc. and luck) or just cutting heads with non-magic offense from attack:tactics , power of speed (just to say using dark magic with slow, superb with power of speed) and retribution. Use then leadership (get aura of swiftness and diplomacy) , get also defense vitality (not that useful cause dungeon are powerful but their numbers aren't so great) and get power of endurance + mass suffering + mass slow + mass haste on advanced = enemy can't kill a single blood fury [cast the dark spells first to spend less time]. The other skill is dependant on you. Maybe logs , they're always great , luck helps much too stay away from light and war machines cause light will make some of your skills useless and dungeon don't take good things from war machines
the last combo is mainly about striking fast and hard and prevent any potential loses of our precious dungeon creatures
I haven't notice that dungeon are slower (initiative) than the other races. So haste + slow is great
I'm newbie in the game so don't blame me if the tactics aren't good
Edit:the second tactic require SOME creatures so it isn't good as destructive but still owns Tolghar on the fifth mission more easy then destructive. But i still vote for destructive build

I tried all of my heroes and it was nearly impossible only with Ylaya because of rune of magic immunity this guy Tolghar is mad for it First Wulfstan with the ultimate it was near a breeze. Yes, Tolghar speciality may be annoying. Freyda had expert light & dark (I was rollin with 100% more initiative not mention the suffering/endurance combo ) and lost nearly nothing. If you use non destructive tactic with Ylaya you may use her.
My advice is to try Freyda with light and dark magic. Other skills luck or leadership, attack and defence of course. It should be no sweat. I won on heroic.

well THERE actually is a dungeon town behind the blue border guard. I you raise her attack much and haven't made her a bomber (see the skills I have listed in the post about her) it will be more easy cause tolghar uses much rune of magical immunity (this on heroic). Well on easy he will actually be more stupid so Ylaya + destructive , enl. , sorc. , & luck should be easy.
Anyway for me was easiest with Freyda.
Edit:Freyda with dark/light leadership/luck/retribution/attack is just overkill

To me, a hero was carrying it(at the tavern), just luck that i found it.
@MEFF and carity I used Ylaya. i recommend her beouse of the destructive magic. her lucky implosion killed 3/4 of the warlords in the stack , i gave her the haven troops(with over 100 paladins)

@Guarder
I had good time beting Tolghar with all heroes(except Duncan of course ). With Ylaya it was a bit harder because of runes bit still wasn't that hard. Isabel is also very nice.

Heh I used Ylaya too. Just give her the haven troops and pwn. In fact she's so good that I wouldn't swap that army for a dungeon one since haven troops have slighty more survivability while I unleash the power of destruction.

With Ylaya I used something like a combo with inquisitor\matriarch spells to cripple Tolghar

Hmm... The "Red Haven" hero is meant to run away, u don't need to kill him. U just need to capture Tor Hrall.
