Green stars
I just HCMed Vokial about my idea, continuing from GL's thread. I'll repeat it here:
"Each person who takes part puts an image in their signature / profile, which dynamically displays e.g. their stars, number of modpoints, ranking, date and name. Vokial would be able to give MPs out (possibly via a button in his browser toolbar), and the right image would update. Clicking on a user's image would lead to a page listing their modpoints and why / where they were given. I would quite possibly be able to make it so that the image only displays in the Workshop if desired, and it could well be possible to have signatures say "this user got an MP in this thread" if that is indeed the case."
I guess the points could be awarded for mods, and also short but helpful posts, evidence of time spent for the greater good etc..
I wouldn't be able to program it in the near future, but probably eventually. It could of course turn out to be impossible.
He likes the idea, and I was wondering what others thought about it...

Didn't Vokial said that the whole idea is scrapped and everything will be how it was until now with the addition of granting QPs to really major mods?

Well yes, but he seems to have done a minor u-turn, because he said I could do this.

As you wish, you'll be the one keeping track of everything, so if you don't mind I sure don't.

Well personally, I don't see why the QP's and all that would be changed, or a new system to be implemented. It just isn't worth it. Maybe QP's could be given out more often, but getting a new system for green stars only for modders would take time and it would only be for one forum, so in the long run, it wouldn't really be worth it.

Well I guess I'd have to decide myself whether it was worth it for me to do. But I can certainly see your point. I guess the main factor would be, how many would use this?

Thats why we can have them both, I mean not like 10 MP = 1 QP, but if they count individually (separately of the QP's). This MPs are best for Modding Ranklist (The Modder of the Month and Year thing). Thats my basic idea for them, it will not effect the rewarding system much.

Well now to be honest - and I don't know about anyone else - but I'm not about to start producing a flurry of mods by the dozen just to get some green stars listed in a thread.
Apologies, I idiotically failed to read the first post thoroughly and take back what I said.

I guess maybe it would be nice to leave this until HoMM6 modding kicks in - we can start anew.
@Ceph: which bit of that post is confusing? I already had to reword it...

This would be a nice implement. It would allow everyone to be able to recognize a modder and their work level so that they can ask experienced members for help. It will increase the awareness and maybe even the number of modders in the community.
