Gryphons are Cyclops Killers!
Hmmm Gryphons are really to weak in homM!!!!!
In real legend they guard a gold river and feet their young with cyclops meat!!!
Cyclops love mony and gold so they tried to steal it...
Gryphons Grap the cyclops and kill them.....
So The gryphon is just to weak in homm3!! even Weak Humans are stronger than him! Think he must replace the champion!

Castle vs Rampart ( in my opinon some of the best towns
Fortress vs Stronghold ( this would be a good match what do you guys think

I agree Incubus I think Griffins should be stronger. Since they are fast and can fly the battle feild I usally use them first to attack and they always in up dying even in a one one one battle. Another creature I think they should make stronger are Devils there so weak I love the castle and Tower towns there my favorites

griffins have ...
... an unlimited retaliation, which makes them perfect for many puposes, but ouch! because of this specialty they get hurt a lot, if you now what i mean - a little boost on the stats would make them formidable, indeed (not that they are bad the way they are)

I´ve tried several Town battles, but I don´t know how much you can trust the results.
The simulation take place about 4 months after start. Its about then you will have high level enough to have expert in all 2ndary skills. No extra artifacts, 1 town (the one you start with), realistic skills& spells for hero.
Anyway, an optimized Mephala (Rampart) wins everytime anywhere. I just couldn´t lose with her. Ramparthero without expert haste or prayer was beatable though.
Castle was almost as strong as Rampart and beat everything but Crag Hack.
Necropolis, Stronghold& Tower was about at the same level. Inferno with expert berserk was not easily delt with either.
But Fortress and Dungeon.... either they suck or I can´t play with them. Anyone have have some tips for them?

Dungeon is, in my opinion, one of the best towns in the game. But they require strategy. With magic they are in the top 3 (Castle, Rampart, and Dungeon), but if left to a computer they seem weak. You have to know what you are doing to play as a Dungeon. Almost all Overlords will get Tactics, which is a big help, and will need to master atleast one school of magic. Yeah, that works with all towns, but only Rampart and Dungeon really get Tactics. And both have a hero with Logistics special ability, the best in the game (for me).
When Dungeon vs. Castle, wait until they cast a spell then blind the Angels. OR if the Angels fly in and attack right away, wait with all your units then pound on them. Minotuars will take care of the Champions, and a Scorpicore/Medusa combo will take either the Crusadors or Griffins. Easy sailing from there....
Tower has no chance vs. Dungeon, and only the Rampart can stand up to them (but not when played by the computer.)
But strait out battle with no magic (like Auto Battle):
Castle would beat all. Inferno and Fortress will fall to all.

I think it's unfair that genies and efreeti are rivals 'cause they are not same level and the genies(for me better)will always loose.

Finally I agree with all the Dungeon fans but I also think that INferno has no chance with any towns in this game I think there the weakest town in my opinon

Even though I love Tower I agree that Dungeon is one of the best towns in the game and Inferno is one of the weakest as for Crusader vs. Orge Magi Im going witht the Mighty Crusader

Oh yes, that's right, I forgot! I LOVE DUNGEON! LMAO!
It seems that dungeon is the town of the moment, which is a bad thing, because it means that most players are starting to overlook the strengths of other towns. Dungeon is EASY to play with. You have 2 level 4 heroes to choose from and 1 logistics hero and besides that you have awesome troops at your command.
I love casting haste with shield/stone skin on my harpy hags. This is especially useful with a +1 or +2 speed ring.
Inferno seems to be the 'hate' town of the moment (I remember once upon a time when it was regarded much higher than this and fortress was the worst). Let us see. The imps, although weak, are very quick creatures and can be bought in huge numbers. Although nowhere near as sturdy as pikemen or centaurs, a few clever spells can bring them right up to scratch.
Gogs - well, they speak for themselves, probably one of the most useful units an inferno player could have, although the fireball ability of magogs can prove to be very annoying when the enemy is surrounded by friendly units.
Hell Hounds/Cerberi - fairly strong 3rd level units, the cerberi are particularly useful for a first strike against the enemy. Send them into the middle of the battlefield and the opponent may be silly enough to attack the dogs with more than one unit, in which case, two attacking units will be damaged.
Demons - Strong, reliable, you do not want to be facing a horde of these creatures as they can tear apart an army if used correctly.
Pit Fiends/Lords - the ressurect ability of these creatures is far too understated. If you can get your hands on even 30 of these creatures, then after your imps are sent to their death, you can ressurect them as 30 Demons (that's 1200 MORE hitpoints of damage that the opponent has to deal with), and once your original demons are dead then you can resurrect them too. These creatures, if properly defended, have one of the best spell effects in the game (what does resurrect spell do for 100 imps? resurrects 100 imps I presume. Now what do Pit Lords do to those 100 dead imps...?)
The Devils/Arch devils, although weak hit-point wise, have the great advantage of no retaliatory strike. This means that you can hit an enemy TWICE as much in a straight fight and not have to concern yourself too much. And another good thing is, you can always ressurect them if they die, unlike black dragons...
And would the answer to that Magog fireball problem be Protection from Fire? I haven't quite tried casting that on a friendly unit to see if it makes them immune to the magog attack...

Protect your assets
Any town is playable, and in the right situation, any town army can beat another as long as you manage your "clutch units" right. In my opinion, every town type has their trump card, and when used right and protected right, they can be the difference:
Castle......Archangel
Tower.......Naga Queen
Rampart.....Grand Elf
Stronghold..Ancient Behemoth
Fortress....Mighty Gorgon
Inferno.....Efreet Sultan
Necropolis..Vampire Lords
Dungeon.....Black Dragon
Conflux.....Magic Elemental
Of course this is conjecture, and entirely my own opinion, but in the hands of a good player, any army can defeat another, no matter the town
