See the point is I understand what they are saying, but they dont understand what I am saying.

THey are saying that it is easier to have 5 heroes get expert Death skill as a 3rd set of trash skills after there hero is GM in there main skills then it is to get CK order on multipule heroes as a 3rd trash set of skills.  SO yes I understand that...  BUT

I am saying that no matter what happens in the first 7 weeks of game and no matter what heroes anyone has etc, that when the final battle comes if 1 player has Steal All Enchantment and the other player has NO remove all spells, then it is to un balanced.  

If you have 2 Battle Mages( which is quite common) casting Steal All enchantment, and you have to waste 1 turn from each of your heroes to cast dispel or cancel then you will not beable to keep up.

SO how about this for a solution.. Put a Mass Cancel scroll on the map somewhere that you gotta do a quest or fight heavily for.  That way only 1 Hero can have that scroll and not 5 heroes.  That way atleast you have some chance to be even with your opponent.

Make sense?

Jinx, that does make sense.  I am in the habit of eliminating "Mass Cancel" from my newer maps, simply because I think that's too powerful for a lvl. 3 spell.  It is completely unavailable on IP.  Even the "Master's Spellbook" (in which the spell appears) has been removed.  However, I can also see how that gives an advantage to players who develop an order mage.  "Steal all Enchantments" could be a game winner if one side had it and the other did not.  But if I were fighting an opponent with "Steal All," I'd put all my energy into killing that one hero (or possibly two) before I did anything else.  Having to do that would be a burden, yes, but it would not be extreme, would it?

I see several possible solutions, here.

1.  Eliminate some lvl. 5 libraries to cut down access to powerful spells not in the player's home alignmant.

2.  Eliminate "steal all" completely.

3.  Give "steal all" or "mass cancel" to everyone in a quest, and jinx suggests.

Comments?

    What is the problem with steal all? It cant steal enchantments that you already have, so if you cast it in beginning of battle, you'll steal only few immos, and later the battle mage will be dead.

Steal all does remove all immos/buffs from opponent however..

If opponent has 5 heroes with immos, and you too, you will steal only 2 immos, that will go for your 2 creatures, because other stacks already have the same enchantment.

Yes you will get only 2 immos, but ALL opponents immos will be removed + other buffs, no matter what. Tested

Laelth --  I would just put a " Mass Cancelation scroll" on both sides.  Either with heavy guards or make it a quest.  I think Quest would be more interesting.

eh.. cant do that
your options are

a) disable libraries in towns.
b) disable L5 guild in towns.

the map editor does not let you disable just level 5 in libraries.

you know
this whole 'lets sove problems' attitude its caused by very long and rich maps!
if you put ALL arties and ALL spells in a map..ofcourse you ll have a problem!
..cause game will be patternized to some winning formulas.
like IP map.. if you put too many fixed things in a map, you ll get a fixed gameplay
