Flamethrowers

Flamethrowers were used since 5th century B.C. They worked by spreading sulfur/oil/andmore and igniting it.

If flamethrowers are to be implemented wisely (as a heavy siege machine, similar to Balista or Catapult) I see no problem, and you also shouldn't.

Gunpowder, as long as very limited, can also be interesting feature. I don't mean guns, but explosive charges for destroying obstacles, walls etc.

Back to the topic: I would love to see myself as one of Heroes5 multiplayer playtesters.

This far it seems that Heroes have everything but good graphics and good designed towns.

i would suggest a special bility for flamethrowers and explosive charges: -10 morale for the army that uses them.

it could make your troops think that the flamethrowers will do all the job for them, so they don't really have to fight.

and i don't think it's honorable to kill your opponnet with a flametrower rather than fight with him like in the old times.

Creature gates in Chaos towns & random map generator

I think that creature gates in Chaos towns should connect to a flagged creature dwelling but the player should have the choice of which dwelling to connect to, & only one connection per dwelling should be allowed. Man, I would love to be able to gate Azure dragons into my town if I found one of their lairs, but being able to do this into every town once one lair had been found would mess things up.

Also I haven't played much HoMM 4 (compared to HoMM 3) although I have the game & the reason is my favourite games are random maps. So please include a random map generator in Homm 5.

Apologies for originally posting this in the wrong thread (deleted). Although I've read just about everything with Noobie, Noob, Newcomer or FAQ in the title & lurked a bit I'm still just getting used to HC.

ok, i guess they should have production speed of one per month so that you could afford them all because they are so damn expensive and they should also have speed 1 (on battlefield and on adventure map) that would prevent your army from rushing head first into trouble.

and they should be natural enemies of fire breating dragons, because they [the flamethrowers] have made up their mind to make black dragons obsolete (they envy their wings, though). also, is would suggest that the fire breating dragons should be immune to fire, and that most creatures with fire attacks would also do a significant amount of physical damage. the flamethrower would be exceptional for doing pure fire damage only, though.

considering the above, i guess it would only be fair to limit the flamethrower's attack to 1 hex (assuming the good old hexes will be brought back in homm5).

why a champion, for instance, should be demoralized if he has a flamethrower by his side? WHY? I wouldn't! the enemy, on the other hand, if they see the flamethrower, should run for their lifes!!
The idea is STUPID, so STUPID!
put yourselvs in the character's place. c'mon, it's not very hard.

no, imho it's the other way round. i don't like flamethrowers and if i were a creature in a homm army i would think that the general who uses flamethrowers is dishonorable (sucky) beyond words.

disclaimer: i am not a creature in a homm army so i don't think of supporters of flamethrowers that way.

and if u meet one of theese dishonourable generals u say: "ok, that's it, i don't wanna play anymore!" and the general burns your bones. )
i understand that u do not agree the FT, but i don't understand the negative morale of allied troups. your explanation is childish (about the troops that are more confident) and wrong. so....think first!!!

looks even more stupid, doesn't it (considering that being a natural enemy of someone means 150% damage)?

maybe the stupidity was intentional?
