I disagree with that. Ves' pics have no more HoMM feeling than Fabrice's cartoons do. HoMM has never been a dark game...look at heroes2, thats as cartoony as it gets. heroes3 was better, but still not dark, Ves' pics seem more related to a darker game like Diablo or so.
Having said that I believe its time that HoMM changed its look a little, and marketed a darker and aggressive approach to the game. Ves' pics suggest a theme, something I would be happy to see related to a HoMM product. I like them much more than the first pics that have been posted for heroes5. If the direction of heroes5 is indeed going to be cartoon based smurf stuff, well then I hope the gameplay kicks ass like none other. It will need to.

Well, its very hard to say something when you see this shameless preliminary pics of H5, to be honest even snowy H4 where better than this, while we all expected to see something like, Vesuvius said, Disiciples II, what divine designers from Ubi soft give us!? A snowin manga child porn, I'm sure that it would be no battle's in H5 every creature would like to snow an Archangel!!
Instead of that glorious feelin when Battle garb of Anduran levitate in front of you.... & atmosfere and fantastic music in H2 and tech. perfection of H3( H4 r not worth to mention) we'll get hermafroditic-homosexal-childporn "something".
To be honest it seams that wife of Jon Caneghem is bigger man that all of them together( Jon and "cigare smokers" from Ubi), for those who don't know she is responsible for genesis of Heroes and she still scream on her man cause of H4.
At the end ALL THE BEST to you Vesuvius and you have my vote for your idea, and I'm sure you'll understand this, its so sad when you see that, someone who didnt played even one game of Heroes in whole life should be main part of creating something I love and worship!

Ok...First of all let's take it easy on ubi....It's only primary art work.
Seconed...You can't compare the primary work with the art of disciples.....In fact very few games that can stand for disciples's art.
Now it had been said before that the people in ubi is reading this forum & stuff i just want to say:
You can't have an archangel as a female....& she is having makeup.....look at the angel unit in disciples....What do you get after seeing him.....Holy & powerfull "He isn't that much in the game by the way"
Look at the Knight that ubi made....He is ok....But look at the paladin in disciples....His face is old & tired...Why?Because of all the evil that rooms the land....His hair is white from all he has been through.
Look at the archangel again....She seems dull somehow...Not holy....Nor strong...you see a beatufl woman nothing more.
But if you looked to the Grand Inquisitor "picture please Vesuvius" you will see Anger upon the unholy....Cold deadly eyes with a fearfull look....Look at his hat & his cloth....That's realy like someone who once wistood the fires of hell to battle the unholy.
All of what i've said of course is no more than an advise...If you realy want H5 to become something then you may want to go to the dirction that Strategy First went to....If you want to stick to your alredy drown art then i guess that i can play Final Fantasy or maybe tactical ogre.
That's my humble opinion.

Don't get me wrong, pictures look nice and all, but they're not fit for heroes, it's more of a snow white and the 7 dwarves story ( archangel - snow white, cavalier - the prince, castle of evil stepmother, the 7 dwarves' cottage), I know you can do better than that !
Not here to criticize or blame anyone, but i think those pictures wouldn't even have fitted heroes 1 which was more "cartoon"-based with those big units.
What do you expect? Fabrice Cambounet isnt that old artist who did pictures for Heroes 1,2,3, to draw right heroes artist must have heroes inside of his soul and here it looks like he doing it more for money it is typical french style. I think Fabrice Cambounet will be not able to draw right heroes i feel it.

Imao best creature art... i have read one article there author said that disciples art is Heroes of Might and Magic that came from kitchen knife after been in seven circles of the hell
And in other article author said this art came from the workshop of Gustav Vasa since it is made by swedens.
Vesuvius you remind me people who has low culture, due to they talentless nature they surround themselfs by ugly things and maybe tommorow they will worship to hamburger
I know that in sweden is people who can make really great art but in disciples i think wasnt those people who make great art i think those artists from disciples are more modern artists so ofcourse it looks like they dont have old things in they soul, ancient style, or taste of beauty.
