i know the saying fight fire with fire, but fighting russians with russians won't do, we need an international team against Mother Russia

we can help , yes.
there was not about the maps, but the way they must be analyzed in order to work as they were designed to. could be any map, you are the leader of this tournament, you may propose the maps, we can take a look and adjust them , adding the neccesary modifications to work for mod 3.3.

In my opinion ,WOW WITH MOD 3.3 is the best option, sometimes is very important to take advantage of the new creatures, it will add a diversity which always is welcome in a game.

what's too standard can turn into a boring thing.

i have some particular versions of all the maps above  , tuned during a large number of games for optimal balance.

punctually,
  magic forest and chameleon are 90% based on the luck of alignment got, so it wouldnt be too relevant.
  superheroes ... is a algorithm that takes away the idea of heroes might and magic
  showdown and death valley could be very interesting with some major modifications.
  circle , plains and heart work fine with some adjustments , too . actually, from your list of maps, circle is the best choice, the most balanced

u contradict yourself...
superheroes stile is same as deathvalley or showdown.

Wow a " Circle for Life TOurnament"

Sounds like a tourny MotorSchaaf in H3 wanted to do called Map Masters.  IN that tourny it had nothing to do with over all ability and talent in the game of heroes, it ONLY had to do with peoples ability to master, memorize, manipulate, and exploit a map.  Once you were able to find all the little hidden bugs and shortcuts, then you excelled on the map.

So sounds like this is basically a Heroes 4 Map Masters tourny of the centry.

But what does Jinxer know.  If it was me, I woulda employed a couple talented map makers like Blue Camel who can produce quality maps in a week, to make about 6 new never before seen maps and then done a tourny. The best players would beable to adapt and play the blind maps.  As it is you are doing the " Check mate in 2 moves tourny"

Serious Jinxer,the reason it is called map MASTERS is so all players can play & see whos the master of the map.
It also had random templates also so your definition of Motors map masters is false in a small way.

Balcough has the BEST post here!  This is the ultimate question.  The very first posts made pointed out that 3 of the maps -- circle - Heart - Plains  were the 3 worst maps in the list then later on Hoher says " So you all said those 3 were the best etc"  lol looks like someone wasnt paying attention or else just wants to make sure those 3 maps are in tourny.

I rarely agree with Balcough, but have to agree here.

maps for tourney

Circle of life 1.3(modified)
 modifications :
    - adv order on the paladin guarding the portal
    - recommended difficulty settings : expert

Coldhearted
 modifications :
    - under study

Dog Days :
 modifications :
    - neutral areas 2 goldmines each
    - scroll of dispel added in front of each starting town
    - in game rules :  no demon fire allowed in players fight

Eldorado
 modifications :
    - level 4 dwell replaced with 2 x level 3 dwell
    - quest modified 4 blackies instead of 3 required  in order to pass
    - first boat moved in the middle of water (it will be posted soon)

If these walls could talk (modified)
  modifications :
     - might town removed
     - scroll of dispel added in front of each starting town
     - shackles placed in a well-guarded garrison (each sides)

Insanity
  modifications :
     - under study

Lost in space
   modifications :
     - I'll ask Jinxer to find the appropriate solution and modify the map in order not to waste time waiting for the gates to open, similar to IP , if someone wants to be explore earlier to eliminate restrictions

Plains of despair :
   modifications :
     - no extra tavern
     - scroll of dispel added in front of each starting town
     - scripts on guards + the shackles
     - might removed or some magic buildings added
     - war university moved

Powerspot (insides & bluesides)
   modifications :
    - displacement for some creatures in order to be the   same of both colors  (insides) (balance adjustments)
 
Seems minerals
   modifications :
    - citadel , caravan , town hall and blacksmith prebuilt
    - scroll of dispel added in front of each starting town

Shallow be thy game
   modifications :
    - scroll of dispel added in front of each starting town
    - citadel prebuilt main towns

Showdown
   modifications :
    - scroll of dispel added in front of each starting town
    - no extra tavern
    - script on blackies modified
    - treasures modified ( gloves for both sides )
    - war university added next to each starting town
    - modify settings for markers

the Longest journey
   modifications :
     - shackles of war added somewhere (i'll think of it) in order to eliminate a possible draw (it will be posted soon)
     - banned boots of traveller

TRON
   modifications :
     - under study

Youri's heart of the winter
   modifications :
     - script on guards changed , added shackles, robe of guardian , ring of greater negation , all arties disappear after defeat
     - robe of guadian changed with a random major
     - unlink the middle altars
     - no extra tavern
     - scroll of dispel added in front of each starting town
     - one level 3 dwell, one level 4 dwell guarded linked



In my opinion, these are the most competitive maps, pls do not mind if i missed or forgot some other

teach - on any map where there are Hero guards (like Heart of winter, or plains), you MUST make those guards a player.  Otherwise the army may flee, and if they flee, then no matter what scripts you have on that army, the player will get the artys they had.  It is impossible to make it scripted so that the artys will not be given to the player even if the army flees, if the army is neutral.  If the army is a player tho, they cannot flee of course, so this is not a problem.  However once you make the army a player, you must either put them in a garrison and say that troops cannot be removed, or you must place them on the map so that they cannot move, but the squares diagonal from them are passable, so that they cannot move (although actually they could move, if the computer knew the army screen trick ) but they can be attacked by the player.  in both cases, of course you need to put "take all the artys they got" under the "defeated" tab, and with the 2nd case, you must use bombs on the few impassable squares around the army, so that players may pass through.
