Help wanted.... reliable volunteers needed
This was posted in another thread, but I didn't know if all would read it, so I decided to report it out here, with a little editing.
OK, here's the scoop. I know you all are NOT happy and frankly, I don't blame you. Things have not worked as they should have from the very beginning. There are many reasons for that, most of them known, some of them not but I am not about to point fingers. With most of what has gone on every one involved shares a little bit of the blame so it's not really worth rehashing the past.
Now, as for the current situation, I openly admit I have not been updating as regularly as I should be. But understand this, it has NOTHING to do with LAZINESS, I am a lot of things, but lazy is NOT one of them. I have been very busy and it is affecting my tournament work and I know it and I hate it. I realize it is you the players that end up with the short end of the stick and I feel really bad about it I do, but there is only so much I can do. I am still spending 10-15 hours a day at my computer, just now I have more computer duties to occupy my time so I have been able to dedicate fewer and fewer of those hours to MAH. It doesn't help that the administrative side of the tournament has just about doubled recently. We have a lot of new players and they tend to make more mistakes, which need fixing. I don't have a problem with that but it DOES take time and I have to do it right away because they only stay on the pages for 5 days. This means that I do the admin work first, then pages work, IF I have time, which is less and less often and definitely not daily like before.
The problem here is that I have a LIFE. At one time, when I first started running Heroes Kingdom, I didn't have much of an outside life so I had lots of time. Most of you know that I only work part time out of the home and that is still true, but other things in my life have changed. I have since inherited my niece and nephew, which are now 14 and 15 years old and a constant handful (have I mentioned lately that teenagers suck?!?). I have also become VERY involved with civic organizations in my community and that has been what takes a big portion of my time, especially now. My husband Glasschain, is the President of our chapter and I am the Management VP, which basically means I get to do all the paperwork. Thus still spending 10-15 hours on the computer with little time for tourney work. I am not telling you all of this to make excuses for me not being around because there are none, I admit that. I have a responsibility to you the players and I have not been fulfilling that responsibility. I admit that and I apologize for it. I only tell you so that you understand that 1) I am not lazy. 2) I DO care about you the players despite what some of you may think and 3)I have not "disappeared" without a look backwards.
NOW, here is what I plan to do about it. I am a realist and I realize that my time is such that about all I can muster is time to be an Administrator, I don't really have the time needed to be a tournament coordinator. Besides the administrative part is the part I'm actually good at, when allowed to concentrate on it. Realistically, I am not a very good Tournament Coordinator anyway. I don't have the experience to set up a balanced tournament, something I have ALWAYS admitted. I have always looked to the guidance and wisdom of others for such things. But in the past, I have always been darn good at keeping things organized (which is part of the reason it takes me so long to do things, because I do them the RIGHT way, the first time) and up to date. I still do good with the organization part but I have not had the time to keep things "up to date" anymore. It actually has to do with my extreme organization that I have not asked for volunteers to help me because you not only need to know how to update the pages, you need to be able to understand my way of organizing things, something no one has been able to do, you'd be amazed how few people can understand a database. But I am willing to relax a bit and if someone is willing to volunteer that has the time to do daily updates, is respected by the players, is acceptable to Ves to have site access, and can update in at least a remotely organized manner. I am willing, actually I am wanting a volunteer. If you are interested please send an email to raven@toheroes.com and include briefly how you plan to keep things organized (as in record keeping). Ves, if you have the time and would like the job, you are also welcome to it. I have long said I have no problem with you stepping in and helping but I have never ASKED before. Well, now I'm asking. I need help, who is going to step up to the plate?

Very clever... Indeed.
Noone's gonna respond now. and youre (both of you) gonna get out of this mess with clean hands.

What were you thinking when most peeps offered such a thing almost a year or more ago?
So who's to blame?
Kitten ruined ToH. Ravyn did nothing to prevent this.
As tewiller_TOH put it quite well and straight, it so ******* LATE.
Kitten does not have the brains to understand what she has done and is doing. Raven either does not care or does not have time to care or whatever.
Thinking and posting about this issue does not any do good to us except more annoyment(?) and anger.
PS: I do not mean to criticise only Ravyn here. Actually, my belief is that all that Ravyn did wrong with the clans is launching it too early and too late. (too early and too late? early, because the setup was not finished. late, because there were not enuff players left -thanks to the hard work and the effort that the coordinators of MaH provided ! - when the clans were launched.

I asked for aid right from the beginning, and I had it for a while in the form of Motor and Andi, both of which left through no fault of my own. Since they left, the few people that have actually volunteered to help who have taken the time to put it in writing, not just a passing comment, have been in need of complete training. If I had the time to completely train someone, I wouldn't need a volunteer. I needed and continue to need someone that has knowledge of how to update a page. The only person that I can even think of that offered to help that fits that category would be hamsi but that has been more on the HC side not on tournament page updating. Most other people's "offers of help" were to give input and advice, which I have accepted and taken and YOU KNOW IT Madmartigan as yours was some I took very seriously, yours and Hamsi's both. I mean the two of you basically wrote and rewrote a majority of the bonuses for the current clan system.

OK, now let's get something straight here. Ravyn has done everything in her power to prevent this. What you fail to understand is that I have very little power. And Motor and Andi know this first hand and that's part of the reason they got frustrated and left. At least I know that is true with Andi. It's not that I didn't care or didn't have the time. I tried, I really did. I talked to Ves about, he wasn't willing to do what needed to be done. I talked to LichKing and Deth8 about it, they tried to give me advice to help the situation repeatedly. Nothing worked. I tried talking to Ves again, still the same "I'm not going to interfere" attitude (you know, the one he STILL has). I tried talking to Kitten, for hades sake why do you think her and I fought so much?!? You have NO IDEA how hard I tried, no one really does. Individual people have little bits and pieces of what I have tried to do, but no one has the whole picture and I certainly am not going to lay it all out here. Suffice it to say that I have done much and accomplished little. I don't know exactly what you are thinking I could have done. I resigned myself to the fact that Kitten was Kitten and there wasn't anything that I could do about that so I decided to try and make the best of it and get along with her and get all of my work done. That worked up until about the time I tried to set up clans. I tried to get help then, got lots of input, used most of it. Depended on a couple of people I shouldn't have, things were left to me. I don't have the experience to do tournament set up, I've stated that from the VERY beginning. I have always been honest about it. I am very good, or at least I was before I got so busy, at running a very organized reliable tournament, once it is set up. And for the record, about clans. It was launched too late because I couldn't get the set up help I needed. It wasn't until I put my floundering bonus ideas out on a page that I got the help I had so desperately asked for. As for it being launched before it was ready, you guys hounded and hounded me to launch launch launch, but you knew it wasn't finished and I told you all then I didn't have the know how to finish it and needed help. One person volunteered to help with what was left, Chubby, and then he had a computer crash and disappeared (and no I'm not blaming him). Where were the rest of you then? It's not like I didn't ask.

For one RAVYN & others yalls need to quit blaming one person for a whole downfall because it takes alot more then one person to hurt a whole tournamentIt's cool to be organized in tournaments but theres alot more work then just organizing a tournament.
You were in the shadows like you said & thats why no one bashed you but on the other hand Mandis an easy target who sets her self up to get bashed.
I am not saying it was not her fault or nothing but I think one dont need more the blame then the other administrators.
You two have equality in this tournament yall both to blame right down the middle.

what does ves do? well lets summarize.....
he puts up his money so we have a site and automation...
he is the cheif of h4....
he invites any and all to his home about once every year to play at his residence....
he is a busy guy in rl...dentist,modeling agency...pleasuring melissa (lucky guy)
and you ask what he does? i say a lot even though he has little involvement hith h3 anymore. what more do you want from the man who started it all? we should be greatful we got so much. seriously.
