speed indicates the quickness of unit - how fast he takes action, while movement indicates the mobility of unit - how far does he move. That's the difference.

The speed is to indicate the quickness of unit: quicker units attack faster than the low ones, so they have a chance of getting no retaliation:
here's the diagram of speed:
for exmample:
6 - 6: 0% chance
6 - 5: 5% chance
6 - 4: 10% chance
6 - 3: 20% chance
6 - 2: 30% chance
...and so on...

Fantastic job on the Fortress town, there are a lot of creatures which can fit in there, but I liked your choices. I also like your extensive knowledge of mythology and mythological creatures.

Creatures Possessing: Hydra ~ Scylla
Reduces enemy’s defence by 1 at the start of every turn
Berserk
Creatures Possessing: Wild Boar
The player is unable to control the unit, so the unit has to move or attack every turn. They cannot use ‘Wait’ or ‘Defend’.
Breathe Attack
Creatures Possessing: Gorgon ~ Bull Gorgon
Unit can damage two creatures at once, if one of them are in front, the other very close behind.
Death Flare
Creatures Possessing: Gorgon
Unit has a 33% chance of killing an extra unit in an enemy stack. (1 unit per stack = 1 kill)
Death Flare (Extended)
Creatures Possessing: Bull Gorgon
Unit has a 20% chance of killing a few extra units in an enemy stack. (1 unit per stack = 3 kills)
Devour
Creatures Possessing: Scylla
Unit has a 50% chance of swallowing an extra unit in an enemy stack. (1 unit per stack = 1 kill)
Long Range
Creatures Possessing: Medusa Matriarch
Unit has an ability to inflict full damage, without reference of distance, but depending on the obstacles.
Magic Mirror
Creatures Possessing: Gorgon
Unit has a 33% chance to be unharmed by a spell and direct it back to the caster.
Magic Mirror (Extended)
Creatures Possessing: Bull Gorgon
Unit has a 75% chance to be unharmed by a spell and direct it back to the caster.
Multiple Attack
Creatures Possessing: Hydra ~ Scylla
Unit has an ability to attack all adjacent units.
Normal Melee
Creatures Possessing: Backwoodsman ~ Backwoods Marksman ~ Medusa ~ Medusa Matriarch
Unit has same melee attack and same ranged attack, so it doesn’t have to suffer melee penalty.
No Obstacle Penalty
Creatures Possessing: Backwoods Marksman
Unit has the ability to shoot at medium range without having no penalty made by different obstacles.
