It depends who I am playing as, but usually it is either the Elves or Liches.
Archers are good only in the beginning, and they look stupid.
Cyclopses kick @$$!
Orcs,Gogs,Gremlins,and Magi suck.
Zealots are okay.
Lizard Warriors are actually good, with the new patch!
Evil Eyes and Medusa are sweet looking, but are only okay.

All of you guys.. I don't get you band with creatures.. Why you hate a cyclops and love a giant??? LOOK mine hatings are lying in the HUMAN creatures.. I hate Little humans-Dwarves hobbits HUMANS-Crusadar-pikeman and Green Humans-Orcs
But you guys are like this... I love vampire but i hate Incubus
I like the Titan but i hate the cyclops.. What style do you guys love? HUmans Undead or Hell or Some others? I don't get you sorry...
I really LOVER EVERY SINGLE CREATURE THAT IS NON human! But you guys just love some.. I can't stand it that you hate MAgogs.. They look so sweet!

I don't hate Titans, I just don't think they are the best. But it takes a pretty narrow mind to just like one type of creature. I like and hate all different kinds of creatures.
Elves, Liches = good
Wraiths, Zombies, Orcs, = bad
See? I'm not just saying I hate Necro or something. That would be stupid!

If you came by and attacked my town before I had Titans with oly Power Lich or Grand Elf, the giants would still win. 1/4 damage in walls, then melee combat crushes the shooters. On the open field... probably still giants win unless lots of terrain. But- you have to think about more than one thign when rating the units. For a giant it would take 3 magic bolts of 50 damage to kill 1 of them. 6 to kill a titan. Meanwhile- magic bolt on elves kills 20 of them in same time period, kills 10 power liches, etc. so rapidly their power diminish. Now if you could protect them maybe, but that is adding in other factors, so we'll assume Titan is here instead of Giants, now Titans still win.

Why would I attack with only shooters? Shooters should add to the units as a whole. By the time I have my level 5's, I have more than enough to siege most castles. Titans aren't necessary. They are icing on the cake. But if you have Titans, then I probably have Dragons and they would pretty much neutralize each other.
I try to think in terms of usefulness instead of raw power like so many seem to do.
Yeah, one on one the Titan wins hands down. They still cost a lot and have the most expensive dwelling,though. But why have a thread about who is the best shooter when everyone will just choose the biggest?

Best shooter vs most useful
Semantics then- the best will always be biggest most powerful unit. Best flier, AA's or BD debatable, but there is only 1 7th level shooter.

Not only does this prove what I have long suspected, that master gremlins are in fact the best shooter, but that titans give you the least bang for the buck in the game.
Other aspects of creatures besides cost might be midigating factors when choosing your best. But for me hordes of gremlins with timely haste seem to always do the job.
That is actually incorrect. First marksmen shoot twice, thus it's not 66-99 but 132-198. Same for grand elves, not 66-110 but 132-220. Considering that grand elves have higher speed (7) than gremlins (5), chances are half of the gremlins will die before having a chance to shoot.
Secondly, I believe that sharpshooters should not be included in the list. You are only capable of getting them with Gelu, who is overpowered besides, you are forgeting Dracon who can get enchanters each doing 14 damage and the ability to group cast, which I think, when included in a real army, will be far more beneficial than any other shooter.
Bottom line is, you cannot compare pure damage of a unit. Other important factors are involved (speed, hp, attack).

I am sorry to tell you this, Mz, but you forgot to include the variation in battle with the attack and defense ratio. Titans will usually deal far above their projected damage and Gremlins will deal far lower, so if you can set the average hero defense and attack stats let's say 10 for each. Then you have to remember that gremlins will probably die a lot, since they only have 4 hp, but Titans shouldn't die unless you seriously screw up, since they have 300 hp. Also in the process of screwing up, you'll probably lose almost if not all of your Gremlins. To make a long story short, the Titans with their huge attack skill and 300 hp, they will deal most likely 2 times their amount and gremlins will usually deal about 1/2 to 1/3. Then after the screw up the Titans will probably deal 10 times the amount that the Gremlins deal. Titans are still the best in the game.

You are right, I left out defense and attack ratings for each unit. However, I still think the marksmen and grand elves are the best shooters, simply because of their cost effectiveness and ability to mass. Combine this with a hero like Mephala and you have 60% reduction at 20 and you have a cheap, deadly unit that can take some hits and live. Thus, IMO 1st place goes to grand elves and second goes to marksmen. Besides, town-wise Rampart will get to go first because of Golds and will most likely blind titans or do something to make them miss their turn, and then grand elves will have a field day with tower units (Not saying that Tower is a bad town, just that their units are a bit overpriced for my taste).

Gotta go with my cyclop kings my fav creature.
Can help in a siege good stats, only his hitpoints kind of stinks, but his defense helps

Just for the record Titans are immune to mind spells and therefore will not be blinded... but may haps my double 5th guild has implo...
can you res those golds... oops too bad
Or maybe we berserck those grand elves..
oh the possibilities..
And of course to counter old mephala lets throw neela into the tower army..
now we got a fight.

Best shooter is offcourse a titan. They have 290 more hp than a Marksman and 285 more then an elf. And why shouldnt they? they are a level 7 creature, and the only lvl 7 creature who can shoot. Offcourse titans are the best shooters.
My favourite shooters are Marksmen tho, their ability to shoot twice wins many fights w/o big losses. I used to have zealots as my favourite shooter but i recently found out that they suck
