If I remember history-class correctly, The two of them just more or less(probaply more then less) moved Poland to the east and gave it under Stalins "care" (<- caution! extreme irony!)
Actually, they intended to take over all of Poland, and the new German-Soviet border was to go along the rivers Wisła (eng. Vistula), Narew and San. After the war and in accordance to the Yaltan decisions, however, Poland was more or less moved to the west and became a communist nation, which considerably increased Stalin's area of control.

Wasn't the moving of Poland's borders westward a kind of compensation for land that the Soviet Union "took back", and that had been taken by the Poles in the early 1920s?

Um...

I have English/(Welsh?), Dutch, and Irish ancestry. Who should I apologize/payback to? I am mostly Irish I think. From what I've read about history, I think most of my great ancestors came over from Ireland during the great potato famine of 1800-ish. I'm starting to think the English owe me for redirecting Irish goods for their selves!

PAY BACK WHAT YOU OWE! SHOW ME THE MONEY!

Oh, you're Irish too then?

In that case, my apologies are of course extended to you too Consis. My ancestors should never have behaved like that. It was rude of them, and I hope you all can forgive me and my countrymen for these atrocious actions.

Good luck getting money off me, I'm 1/16th Irish

Co-incidentally, sorry to spoil the general view of history that the Irish are innocent hard done by people, but how about compensation for all the civil wars in England they kept interfering in, or the invasion of Scotland by the Irish?

Perhaps the Canadians can demand compensation for the invasions of their country by the Fenians in the 1800s too

Hmm. Come to think of it, I could very well have some Irish ancestors too, as the Vikings usually abducted lots and lots of finelooking Irish women to use as thralls...

Hey, I demand that I pay myself compensation! Just in case, I mean!

Now everyone appologise to yourself, and remember to accept your own appologies
