Poll Question:
What is your IQ?
I noticed that most of the members on HC seem to be smarter than most of the people I meet on the street, so I wanted to test that. You don't have to give an exact answer, just a range is fine.

I was lucky... I logged on with my other e-mail, but my name. Tried as much as I can, used a dictionary and got:
136
Wow! This is almost unbelievanble, knowing that 1/3 of the questions were hardly understandable to me, so I guessed them. I'm pleased

It is what I say it is. 62 was the number I achieved on the test. It was written, not verbal or otherwise. During the test I was very confused at many of the questions. I honestly do not understand that at all. In its entirety, I would say it is baffling to say the least. But then who would listen to a guy with a 62 IQ?

I took it in a class of about 30-40 students. We were given the tests folders, a sheet for writing equations if we needed, and the multiple choice bubble form where we filled in our answers. Each question had a series of answers to choose from. We were told by the teacher that it was better not to answer rather than to guess and answer incorrectly. A teacher was present the entire time and when we finished, we gave her our answers. She didn't grade our papers. The tests were sent away and we received our results in an envelope several weeks after we took the test.
This may be difficult for you to understand but it's true. I am a 62.

Hey listen, it's all good. I think you're a great poster as well. The only thing those tests did for me was tell me that I wasn't as smart as most people. Because of that, I studied hard to overcome my intellectual setbacks. I'm glad it did. If it hadn't then I may have thought I was too smart for school and that I didn't need to push myself. Instead, I learned a lot and felt I had to work harder than most to be just as smart.
It is true that I have low self confidence and that test didn't help me feel any better.
I know that someday people like myself will achieve great things because they start from the bottom and work their way up. I will know what it's like to be poor and humble when I reach the top. The top being, success in achieving my goals in life.

Consis, someone once said that the smarter you are the dumber you look. my Brother has A tested IQ of 185 no joke he is so smart he is stupid.I don't put my faith in those tests, the one I took a few years back was written and verbal, I scored a 138. I don't feel like I'm any smarter than anyone else, maybe streetwise and alot of common sence, but not book smart.

Well even if you are not as smart in other areas your writing and literature skill are excellent. Besides at Hc we don't(shouldn't) judge people on how smart people are or how good at heroes you are. We should be judging people on the quality of their posts and how they contribute to this board which you succeed at both.
BTW wow long ago did you take that test Consis?

Long Time Ago
It was a long time ago but I've never forgotten it. It was twelve years ago. I was in highschool in the 11th grade when I took it. I remember it like it was yesterday because when I was handed my results I was afraid to open the envelope. I hesitated, opened it, and then looked around at the other students. I pretended like it was my business when the girl next to me looked over as if to exchange results in a friendly manner. She was a nice person but I was very embarassed. I remember feeling unable to speak. I simply put the results back in and tossed it in the garbage. I never showed it to my parents.
From that day to this I keep it fresh in my memory to make sure that I always remember who I really am.
It's good to have humility. It taught me to befriend many people whom society had deemed a reject. Perhaps that's why I relate so well to people who play dungeons and dragons. I have commonly found them to be caring, lonely, and ingenius. Intricate designs created by such beautiful minds. All the while they're called freaks, nerds, crazy, strange, odd, or ugly. I love those people. They are my kinds of people because I feel I understand them.

Consis, if that`s the only time you`ve taken an IQ test,
I strongly suggest that you take another one if the result means anything to you.I guarantee you`ll get a much higher score.A score of sixty two represents a mentally disabled
person, which you are most certainly not.
80 is a VERY stupid person , which again you are most certainly not.In fact I would find it very difficult,
especially considering some of your posts ,that you are anywhere below 100 , which is a sort of average.
You are an intelligent person Consis, and not a three year
old(to whom the score of 62 is appropriate).
