Oh so the server is down? thank god. thought i had some impossible issue that cant be fixed x). Thanks!

I have never tried tunnelling for a game, but that seems like it should work to me.  Please post here if it works.  I assume you have a good tunnelling system or proxy that you use.

Uhm Hi guys,


Using the fanmade HD launcher for the game with friend. When he hosts/creates template from win7 it's fine.

When i do it with win10 i allways get stucked at 99% or 100% loading the mapand the game stops and does nothing. Back when we had win7 on both pcs we had an occasional freeze or error about every ~30 turn but now it freezes when passing turn almost every 2nd-4th making it very irritating to play. Any ideas?

We are playing VIA tunngle.

Question about transferring save files

Hello, maybe this is not the place where i should be asking this, but i dont know how to start a new thread, or find the right thread.

But basically i played the armageddons blade campaign on HoMM3 HD, then i was on the last mission of the playing with fire campaign. i loaded the file in HotA, and continued playing. Now i finished the campaign and i want to continue but... i can't load the file anymore in my HoMM3 HD, is there a way to transfer it back? or did i screw up.

Thank you for pointing me to it Angelito, but the setup I am describing here is a little more complicated. When running virtual machine in NAT  mode in VirtualBox there are two NATs involved: we could call them "physical machine NAT" and "router NAT". So, in order for packets from the Internet to arrive to virtual machine they need to be forwarded on the router first to the physical machine, and then in virtualbox to the virtual machine.

How to solve Critical Error. CRASH INFO file was generated when play lan or online

I got crashed when i load my save with my friend.
It happen when i use radmin and hamachi and it only happens when i load save but not new game.

So me and my friends recently got back into Homm 3 because we just found out about Hota mod. The day we tried to play the game, everything worked. The next day we came back to the save file, but everytime i load the file it crashes in the loading screen. So we tried to let one of my friend host and it worked until we end our turn.

Well, the HD+ team works on solving the DDoS attack on the server. But if you don't use the lobby, I think you should have no problem from it. That's why I asked if you played through lobby or TCP/IP.

Well, the HD+ team works on solving the DDoS attack on the server. But if you don't use the lobby, I think you should have no problem from it. That's why I asked if you played through lobby or TCP/IP.

So is there a way for me and my friends to play together without using the lobby?
I also tried other lan software like hamachi or radmin but it not working.

Use the TCP/IP option (I think it's second third from up-down direction).

So, basically, Host a game, put a password. Wait for people to join. To join, the people (they can be your friends, etc.) need to enter your IP address in the "Join/Search" ("Search" if the PCs don't share the connection, which is most common) section of TCP/IP and enter the password. And they joined your game. After everyone joined, choose the map (or save game) and play.

However, you should allow HotA.exe to communicate with public and private connections through firewall, since it might crash otherwise (like it did to me first times).

Hmm... It's kinda confusing and annoying, since these times people on both reddit and this forum start to have problems with loading multiplayer save games... The DDoS attack shouldn't give problems to the TCP/IP thing, but I might be wrong, since the data could be sent through the HD+ servers first and then to the other players... Before the attack, these problems happened because of trivial stuff like firewall blocking the game, etc. and more rarer than now.

You sure you did the connection correctly? Every player joined and were assigned to their respective player? Try to load the game in hotseat mode. If you can't load it there either, it means it's corrupted. If it does load there well, it has to do with the online thing or the ongoing attack.

Did you try playing a new game, or did you kept trying to play the game you previosly started? If that's the case, it sounds like there's a problem in the save file itself.

Does anyone else have issues entering the online lobby? For the past 3 or 4 days the game just freezes in the loading process when I click "login".
