Thanks you guys, okay am I to assume that we should automatically see eachothers game in the tcp/ip menu without having to search for ips or anything if we are using hamachi? Because we can't see eachother's games.

link to hamachi on the 1st post is broken

Cheers, Dirk, nice to see you are still the same helpful person

Edit:Seem to have bumped into another problem.I have an ok connection can play on zone or with direct IP.
My friend however has a router and needs hamachi.
We share the same ISP. Problem is that after installing Hamachi, it gets into a cyclic "conecting/reconecting" thing with never stops.
Anyone bumped into this before? Or knows the solution?

Edit 2:Tried it with several hamachi versions

If u share same ISP, won't u be able to connect "directly" then? So u won't need IP connection, but direct comp connection instead when chosing game setup.

Been trying to play online again for a while, but have a so called router problem. Don't have my own IP either, might have something to do with it.
Can some technical genius ad me to their MSN-list and help me out some time when I'm online?

I finally got to play online with my friend and it works fine, but whenever I go to battle against him, his gremlin gets to move first, regardless of anything and my friend doesn't even go to battle, so it's my friends turn forever, I attacked his town that had only 1 gremlin and the gremlins got to move before arrow towers and my friend just couldn't go to the battle, what is wrong???

Hey all,
I played alot Heroes-3 online,
Recently i got a problem when i play online (tcp or gs).
When i play with some1 (no matter who), i also tried it with you angelito ..
After 70 seconds of my turn the computer disconnect my opponent , saying "Your friend has left the game" .
Now, i opened all the ports for Heroes3 (47624,2300-2400,28800-29100 - All TCP & UDP ) , But still same problem .
My computer firewall is Off .

Does any1 has any idea what can cause this problem (disconnection after period of 70 seconds exactly ) ??

* BTW: If i play shorter than 70 seconds then all goes fine and i can play with anyone .. but you know that battles can last more then 70 seconds so i have no chance to play a normal game .

I hope someone had this problem before because i really miss playing that game .

Appriciate any help ,

Thanks ahead ,

Predator.
This sounds pretty much like "connection auto-refresh". Maybe u talk to your provider, or u find something about that issue in your router menu.

You checked your (and your friend's) version? Maybe it is a bug of earlier version.

Maybe u let your friend play a different town than Tower. Just to see if this happens with any level 1 creature.

ok

Ok I tried playing using hamachi with a friend who could configure his router and now he can see my game (I still can't see his). However, whenever he tries to join it takes about 20 seconds and then it says "Sorry, there was an error connecting to that session, please try again." I saw this is in the original post but we are using hamachi so it can't be the routers and our firewalls are turned off. Help?

Does the fact that he can see my game but I can't see his mean which one of us has the connection problem?

FACTS:

-I'm behind a router D-link DIR-100 as well as my friend (his behind a DIR-100 too)
-We have the same provider
-We both have installed Hamachi the same version
-We both have firewalls disabled
-Although we can't play heroes anymore !!!
-It doesn't mather who is the server, we see the game but we can't connect ! The same error as Paradox said: "Sorry, there was an error connecting to that session, please try again."

Questions:
-If we are behind routers but we use Hamachi do we have to do some "port forwarding" ?
-If the answer is "yes" i don't know what to say as we have played heroes until 1 month ago without "port forwarding" or other specific configurations. Installing Hamachi and disabling firewall, was enough. Now it seems to doesn't work anymore

I really appreciate some help as i am desperate for not playing heroes anymore !!!

Maybe u describe how you setup your game when using hamachi. It could be possible u are doing something wrong here. With hamachi, u do not need to disable your firewalls at all.

Hi,

M_D you might want to add hamachi to your trusted list, like I did with zone alarm firewall. I don't know wether this was the right thing to do or not, but its better than shutting the firewall of completely no?

http://img26.picoodle.com/img/img26/4/4/29/f_hamachizam_cb828af.jpg

Here is another interesting link I've found while googling about hamachi:

http://www.scribd.com/doc/430524/How-To-Set-Zone-Alarm-Settings-Fix-for-ZA-ports

now for my problem: When me and a mate is playing over hamachi for some reason he cant fight me..

Everytime he atacks my army, one person goes to close combat, the other stays in the strategic view position.

Any clues as to how you can fix this?

Much appreciated.
Hex

Complete users can play with/vs non complete users, but their version have to have latest patch installed. For RoE this version is 1.4, for SoD it is 3.2. Complete version is 4.0.
To check your current version, just rightclick your heroes3.exe file, properties, version. There you are.

Links to needed patches can be found in the first post of the first page of this thread.
