I'm a jealous ass that constantly try's to appreciate himself in front of others and try's to do good but fails miserably because I'm too good at procrastination. I try to fix other peoples problems so much that I don't bother to think about my own, and sometimes I let my problems become a part of other peoples problems. I don't know why I'm in Video School, I'll probably fail at this just as much as I failed in high school. Why do the one thing you love if you know that you'lle fail at that too.
Once I find something I'm good at I engrave it into other peoples heads so much that they can't help but hate me for it, making me bad at it.
I'm bad with compliments (Received or Giving), I'm bad with critisism, I'm bad with Advice... especially the kind I give. I'm probably not a good friend to have. People on chat rooms and Forums can't understand what the heck I am talking about and I'm much too sarcastic to explain myself.

On a positive note... I still love the school I'm going to... even though I will fail.

-> I hate worms whitout reason.
-> I am a petty bad startegican. Example: To day I where fighting an organised snowball war (Yes, it is still snow in Sweden ) and where elected to "commander". But after five minutes i finded my self screaming "Folkstorm!" in a last attempt to halt the foe teams ofensive against our teambase and sended my entire "baseguard" towards the enemy who where advancing towards my teams base camp. And they lost, of course(I where coward and fleed).
-> I somethimes are bad to cear about my hygiene. I let my cat sleep in my beed and fill it whit virus and other parasites.
-> I dont lisen on any music.
-> I am bad at english.
-> Of some reason, I most often play as evil or neutral in fantazy games. In historical games, I always plays as the losers (Western rome, Byzantine empire, Sweden in the great nordic war, Kaizer-Germany, Austria-Hungary, Nazi-Germany, Hirohitos Japan and Mussolinis Italy) Many people thinks its neerdish to play as the loosers or as something else than the good.
-> You can't trust me to keep promises.
THE WORST -> I can somethimes be VERY power-hungry. One time on a Swedish site, I where appointed as "Help-admin" and given access to the Administrator control board. I tried to do a coup d'état, but faild to silence all the other help-admins in time.

As much as I'd love to be a good role model for other people, I'm currently thinking that I'm terrible at that. Lazy, overly sensitive, unemployed, non-driver, pessimistic, etc: those words have dominated a huge chunk of my life so far. I'm trying to break out of that cycle, but still, I can't help but feel upset at myself for all the wasted time. Why did I have to be this or that way? Or, if the case may be, why am I still this or that way? I'm probably too spoiled for my own good. I've had things too easy during my early life, and now it's all coming back to rear its ugly head. I cannot go on like this for that much longer, I know. I need to draw the line somewhere.

Guitarguy,

Have you considered joining the service? Even though Hawaii is a very long way from the mainland, we consider it as much American as any other of our states. Have you considered serving the country that has given you so much and asked so little of you in return?

You got to be kidding me LOL.
You are not serious.Given us so much but so little in return LOL.
Thats the biggest crock I ever heard.
Yea they give us alot but we also have to give alot in return as well.

After what has been going on for the last 10 yrs & even after that.
This is one of the worst posts i ever read & I had to say that.

I dont criticise about serving.
I justg criticise your statement.
Bogues if you ask me.
I have nothing against anyone serving.
I personally think many young people volunteered to serve so they can see some acion.
Yea Asking for so little.
Maybe going to war is not asking much huh

I try to keep my neck out of the army; I've neither the build or the attitude for such service. My parents would prefer that I stay home and get my education. And after my old high school friend Kevin got killed by an IED two years ago, I've even less motivation to do anything related to the armed forces. It's not in my spirit, so it will likely be a bad choice for me.

Evidently to some people serving your army is the only solution.
There are many courses you can take in life & school is one of them.
That is if you can make use of it.
Guitar I am talking to you like I have in your downhill times & I am straight up like in there.

I will say straight up you cant please everyone.
Being a role model is cool but not everyone will care for it.
If your not a good role model then your probally shouldnt try so hard & worry about yourself for a sec.
I been there also.
Unemployed, carless(not careless ), homeless & all over the place.
Even during close to your age.
Everyone knows how oversensetive I am lol.

You probally have not felt your calling yet.
Meaning you probally have not found what you have been truly looking for.

School is always important but a waste of time if you can not make any use of it.
It never hurts to try at least.
Cant really get on someones case for trying, that is all we can ever do.

Laziness is a state of mind but i know once your in the mox of doing somethang, you are far from lazy lol.
I meant that in general not you in particular.
I think you need to make new memories like you have with Iris then dwell on crap that makes you depressed.
Never too late to make memories.

Bah . . .

Is serving in the United States military so bad Aculias? I suppose you could find a better job, and then who will be there to provide security for your country? I'm not surpirsed, not at all. It all sounds like just another person who believes no country (anywhere) needs a military branch of service.

No nation on this earth is alive today without a significant military branch of service. Why is that so repugnant? Why do I constantly hear people say "never join"?

I served in the United States Airforce, The_Gootch & Khayman were marines, and Redhawk is out there right now! Redhawk is over there this very instant doing everything he can to bring honor and pride to what this nation stands for!

I suppose if I had listened to you then I would have a "better job" right now. My life might have been very different . . . but then so would my country, YOUR COUNTRY, OUR NATION.

Don't mind me . . . what the hell would I know about such things? Very little I suppose. Very little . . .

Hey!!!
For one if you read I told you I had no problem with serving the country or the people who serve it.
I just dont agree that it is the only way to solve a problem.
I especially dont agree that we gain so much but they ask for so little.
Gain alot yea ok I agree.
Good education & room & board with money for education.
Now asking for little is a hugh laugh.
Now go run in your little hole like you always do when there is a little friction since your opinions are golden.

Aculias,

I wish to try and inspire you as much as I've been inspired. Perhaps this can help me:

http://www.thegoldweb.com/voices/irahayes.htm

~ It's about a young man named Ira Hayes. Ira was the son of a poor farming family. His people had struggled for years to make a living in the arid conditions of the Reservation and had little success beyond survival. At one time the Pima were successful farmers but that was before the US Government cut off their water supply and created a situation where they could no longer grow enough crops to eat.

Until the beginning of World War II, his life was probably unnoticed by anyone more than a few miles from his birthplace. When America called its men to arms Ira answered this call and joined the US Marine Corps for several reasons: He would be able to leave the Reservation, eat regularly and send money home to his family to help them have a better life. His Tribal Chief told him to be an Honorable Warrior and to bring honor upon his people. Ira never failed to do this. He was a dedicated Marine who was admired by his peers who fought alongside him in three major battles in the Pacific.

He was also one of the men who was in the photo of the U.S. flag being raised at Iwo Jima.

Asking for so little... and giving you PTSD in return

Why telling only half of the story?

Quote:
It seemed that this nation found one way to honor its heroes: Buy them a drink! Ira went back to the Reservation to escape the unwanted attention he'd be forced to bear but people did not stop writing and coming to see "the Indian who raised the flag." Ira's only escape from the conflict he felt over being viewed as a hero was the bottle. Over and over he made statements like; "I was sick. I guess I was about to crack up thinking about all my good buddies. They were better men than me and they're not coming back. Much less back to the White House, like me."

Ira Hamilton Hayes would be dead at age 33. After another night of drinking and still lamenting over his fallen "buddies", Ira fell drunk in an irrigation ditch and froze to death, alone and forgotten by a country that had called him a hero. The ditch where he died was the single source of water that was provided for his people by the same government he'd proudly served.

Then Ira started drinkin' hard;
Jail was often his home
They'd let him raise the flag and lower it
like you'd throw a dog a bone!

He died drunk one mornin'
Alone in the land he fought to save
Two inches of water in a lonely ditch
Was a grave for Ira Hayes

Acu, feel inspired?

I understand that.
In those times there were reasons to fight for.

"Consis I think you know this goes more personal then just in this thread by now".

Give me a reason why we are still fighting?
For almost 5 yrs were still out there.
We did what we had to do in one yea
We were lied to by our president & the oil was just part of it.
That was our problem & a reason why other countries dont care for us Americans.
We always stick our noses in other peoples business.
Look how many wars we started since we became Americans.
We even started the Philipines war.

Like i said i love my country also & the people that serve it.
I believe in alot of stuff but not this war.

Aculias,

I have learned something from you. You said that "in those times there was something to fight for". You are right. It reminded me of the big picture. For some reason I keep forgetting the bigger picture. A man doesn't need to join if there ain't no reason to pick up and fight. I don't have any answers for today. I dunno what else to say man . . . except you're right and I can't argue with someone who is right about something like this. I guess I was only thinking about all the benefits in money, housing, and respect he would get from average-Joe-Americans like myself for serving. But it's more than that isn't it. And you know exactly what you're talking about when it comes to this. Maybe I should check my nugget for some loose screws . . . *sigh*
