Aculias, the thing is I never have nor never will be the 'rule by an iron fist type'. Still people will think what they want of me, and I give up caring any more. Some people just have to have things their way *shrugs*.

I was siding with ya.
I mean cry me a river that a thread does not get a QP.
I seen the days where Mods favored other members & disregarded the ones they did not like.
Including not giving QP's they deserved.
Basically, get over it.
If a thread does not get a QP that is mentioned, then they should respect that then attacking.
I trust most of the mods actions where i do not even mention threads on here.
Now i can understand why with the lack of mods lately.

I had drafted a lengthy post addressing the last few exchanges but I think *sigh* works equivalently well.
Really - QPs are supposed to be a positive thing at HC. Can't we keep it that way?

Well... if punishment should be dealt with as quickly as possible, I see no reason as for why praise shouldn't be delivered equally fast.
I believe moderators should have a presence on a forum, so that members feel that they know what's going on and what needs to be praised/condemned. Being a year late with a QP kinda takes the edge of the forum presence part...
And don't you dare *shrug* me haha... you care Mytical, so the shrugging sounds really weird from you.

If you are posting for little .gif's you are posting for the wrong reason. I've never been what you might call stingy with the QP, and I am never fond of giving out penalties (not to mention when I do..never mind .. not going there..) Do I think another (and more active) moderator would be nice? Yes. Till then I do what I can, people just need to remember I may not agree with them and am only human (ie can only do so much).

If I am posting quality does it really matter what my reason is? I'm improving the forum nonetheless right?
QPs and -QPs have a symbolic value Mytical, they are more than .gifs.
Honestly, I understand that you only really answer to Val anyway, but listening and answering to what your fellow members say might be a good idea anyway.
It is perhaps not in your obligation to do so, but in the spirit of being a good moderator, don't ya think it might be a good idea?

The question is, when have I not? I've even given QP that I personally thought was not due because the community thought it was. Case in point, just recently. Corribus is a wonderful poster, but I just didn't like the humor. Was not my taste, but each their own. How many QP have been given by me, because people have suggested it? Which is what really bothers me here. Somebody suggests a qp and I don't 'jump to', and automatically I am not listening to the 'community'??

 Again you misunderstand. Yes my job is to both deal out penalties, and quality points, but what I think is penalty worthy or quality might not agree with everybody else. Our MAIN job is to enforce the CoC (which seems we can't...nevermind not going there), with the awarding of QP at OUR discretion (gah I suck at spelling, I've said this yes?). Only I don't just use my discretion, I do take other's opinions into consideration. So..what exactly is the issue?
If I don't think something is qp worthy, I do not have to issue a QP. Seems simple enough.

I remember asking once Angelito for a few QP's in wog forum for huge works, not the usual 10 minutes made post, people who worked months or even years on a outstanding project. He took his time and awarded them eventually one month later. Once I submit my request, my role is done, I can't imagine harassing the moderator any longer. Up to him from that moment, arguing is futile. Maybe I get old...but I like to think moderators have their own brain.

Mytical, this place is a community and even though you're a moderator, you are supposed to listen to other people. You may not think it is worth something but that doesn't mean you're right and people will just get annoyed at this way of thinking. Stop making excuses and try to listen more. I respect you, you know that, but come on.

They do have a point you know. Nobody is pushing you - they know better than that but truth is this forum has been neglected for some time. You no doubt had good rl reasons but some reaction was to be expected, especially if you get all defensive when you could disarm everyone in a simple understanding comment. Some things just get lost in traslation.

So let me see if I understand this. Help me out here. People suggest a qp for a thread. I read it, but don't immediately think it is QP worthy, and take my time to think it over. I finally do give the QP, and I am in the wrong? Guess if another Moderator thinks so too (no surprise as of late) I am going to have to rethink things.
I guess I will just apologize, and snap right to the next time a qp is suggested.

Every mod is different.
That is why we need to make a change in having more mods.

I been speaking that for years about Moderators having all the power & it never matters what we say, they do what they want anyways.
I know Mytical is never like that.
She is a good mod who tries hard.
I think she can use some backup, now that Pandora stepped away now.

Mytical, your attitude right now and as of late has been wrong. If you've got too much **** in real life and you get all defensive on the forum when people aren't doing anything then maybe a break from this place may do you some good.

Nobody mentioned snapping of fingers mysty, some have had considerable delay if memory serves. Even so nobody would complain if they simply saw you around more, even if you did not do a lot of posting, applying qps and stuff. It's all about the impression you give. Things aren't either or, some slack could be cut from both sides you know?

So again, giving the community what they asked for, in this case a qp for a thread..even though I took my time, is wrong? Listening to the community, even when I disagree with it is wrong? Trying to figure out why, nobody is ever happy is wrong?

Heh...It did do me some good which is why I'm mentioning it to Mytical. Seriously. Trust me on this one. When you have frustrations in real life, if it's all going to hell, you can be assured that you'd vent out your frustrations on the Internet in some form or another. I did and you all saw that. Not that Mytical is getting like I did but the defensiveness is a bit unnecessary. All I'm saying is that she should take a break for a little bit, sort out whatever problems you may have if they're able to be sorted and come back all refreshed and able to enjoy yourself. At the moment, I don't think Mytical is really enjoying herself here mostly in part because of real life problems. It's so evident right here in this thread.

Giving away QP's on crap threads & replies, because you felt you had to be hasty without looking.
Just take your time & do the job right, dont rush it because the Members here with the names that start with an A tells ya so!
