Guess a creature: it oftenly appears on the battlefield when some other creatures are involved in the battle, but not demons.
Hint1: It is undead.
Hint2: I kills several creatures and the disappears.

Does that count expansions?
In HOMM4 I can think of 4: Fairy Dragons, Bone Dragons, Black Dragons, Megadragons.
I haven't played too far into the WOW campaings... so there may be more.

Ahh, forgot about dragon golems.
So that would be 4 with "dragon" in their name, without any expansion.
