Neverwinter Nights Help
I've got Windows XP, and whenever I run NWN it always runs ridiculously slowly. (like completely unplayable slowly) Any ideas why?

Well, if you have an old comp, it's bound to be slow. Tell us more and maybe someone can help.

I've had it too. Very likely, the video card is too old.

first thought:
do yourself a favour, uninstall it and go play bg2 w/expansion.
second thought:
did you dl it or kazaa or something? if so, it will run that slowly.
third though:
do you have enough space?
fourth though:
if all else fails, back up all your stuff and wipe your computer (make sure you have a windows thing again)
fifth though:
i have no idea.
happy hunting!

interesting
Well the game is rather large, but I agree that you should look up your dirext X thing, It's bound to be in there somewhere (in your computer I mean)
And it doesn't hurt to DEFRAGMENT your hard disk(s) every so often.

i believe your looking for DXDIAG
run that in your command line.
I'm a little supprised you can run anything on XP with that system, XP's requirements are way higher then that.
my suggestion is to get yourself ME or 98 to run on your system, it will run much quicker (although xp is nice)
your not playin in a window are you? in XP while in game, hit Ctrl Alt Delete then goto processes, when you find your program (NWN) right click on it, and set priority to the highest level, this will (as the name suggersts) give it the highest priority. and it should be day and night, especially on a slow system

How can you say THAT??? Neverwinter rules, man... Now to be ontopic, did you watch the sys requirements man???
It says 256 DDRAM minimum for NWN to run properly and a 64 MbRam vid card.
Do you have SDRAM? Cause from a first sight I think so...

Hello mate
I can see that you have NwN ( as I recall released in - 2002 ) and I have had the same problems like you descibe. There are alot of released patches to the org NwN and that is why your game cannot run at max.!
Run update and my dwarven ( monk/wiz ) shall show you the path he he
( remember there are also Shadows of undrentide and Hordes of the UnderDark )
