ohh , lalet.. is this sounds like a sabotage?

i'll tell you a short story. in our country (for instance), in order to protect the internal automobile industry , the government decided to apply extra taxes for importing cars, even from europe. and definetelly, some of them, at the same price (without taxes), are obviously superior as performance and fiability to our "creations" . what do you think about that? who would you defend in case of a virtual trial? as i figured it out so far your decision might be quite unpredictable, so both should have their chances to have you as their representant, if you know what i mean .... depends on the ...your "time"

the_teacher: i doubt there will be a virtual trial on this issue, but, even if there were, i couldn't represent bost sides because that would pose a "conflict of interest" problem (can't faithfully represent both sides at the same time).  and i'm not really trying to represent sacred_warriors and youri, either. i'm trying to offer my opinion to the toh maps council.  i think the maps council should get approval from mapmakers before altering maps and posting them for tournament use.  how hard would it be, really, to just send sacred_warriors and youri an e-mail asking them if they mind?  in fact, i'm not sure that you haven't done that already (as i mentioned above).  it's not like anybody is likely to get sued over this.  it's a matter of ettiquette.  it's polite to ask.

and, besides.  haven't we played circle enough, already?  why not try to revise some of the maps that haven't been played as much?  we need variety, not more of the same.  

btw, eldorado promises to be much better after the changes you've made.  good work!

why those maps? simply . because the rest of the MAPS are belonging to you, jinxer, blue camel and insatiable.
after this cold shower, im almost scared to even open in editor the maps of the first three to avoid the possibility to save it accidentally and displace a tree or some bushes by chance and then, suddenly, to be cursed that i interferred without notice, not even for my personal use. so i'll keep myself away from any temptation or curiosity regarding these maps.

insatiable proved to be more open to suggestions, i guess because he played more and "feels" better the way the game can be influenced by some changes (minor or major), knowing, also, that my advices won't ruin at all his merit of being the 100% author of the map, cause i'm not aiming to see my name written where is not belongging. more of this, i guess players that are interested in someone's work , and spend some time to improve what they once liked , bring pleasure to the mapmaker who sees his efforts fullfilled.

i do believe they won't mind (sacred and youri) for my initiative, regardless i'm still waiting for their answer.

if though ill get negative from their part, considering your (including some other) position too (regarding the copyrights for a non-profit action) i think ill drop it dead. don't like to fight the windmils, im not doing this only for myself.

Laelth not everyone has played much Circle So it would be good to update it too for some new players for example. Maybe you and me and many other player have played it much but not everyone.

he COULD be a guilmaster. do not forget he's already level 7 with basic melee with nob skills and adv scout so would be rather difficult to turn him either into a killing machine or a too dangerous guildmaster. but main idea is to help barb too and be a weapon against gm resist, a light one.

i have only a proposal regarding this matter. i thought it could be useful in the start , and maybe , when you need it more, it can be traded in for some cash. about the mine , why to make it complicate if people wants it simplier. mine is there , could be taken when you are ready to kill those level 3. so it will annoying for you maybe to make a detour to recover it could ruin the schedule . can give other solution though

if i ban stealth thief will have a too fast development like any other hero to gm path. let it be the fate choice to give or not the desired skill on levelling up. it's the issue that i dot like to deep kick, taking scouting altars blindly wiht no risk .
for same reason charm and summonship will remain.
i dont want a too accelerated game

teach:  sorry, man.  didn't mean to upset you.  you did the right thing and asked the authors for permission, as i suspected.  that's good enough for me.

undead: i have some bad memories on circle.  perhaps that's why i don't want to play it anymore.  and sure, 99% of the population of the earth has not played it.  it's still one of the two or three most played maps on the toh maps page.  there are a number of maps out there (by various authors, not just me, jinx, insa, and camel) that could be revised.  circle would be my last choice.  but, as he rightly notes, teach is revising it because people want it revised.  nothing wrong with that, ultimately (so long as the authors are OK with it).

I think it's isn't good, cause it's making good tactic to get 3rd town first, second go to the underground and at last attack opponent. May be replace underground tree?

Heh, i always think that order and death are weakest alignments on Circle. Let's play to find the trueth!

Hard to say what was weakest (order was a strong candidate here -> no combat hero and no easy path + slow moving lvl 4s). However, it's easy to figure out what the strongest town was

With Mod the combat hero does not matter that much... but it remains to be seen how that affects town-balance (haven't played circle in ages)

I tried 3 druids once..........
