The state of prisons today is not a healthy one
There has been a lot of talk about prison security in South Australia. It is in such bad shape that inmates are getting away with contraband items such as drugs and weapons. This outrage needs to be stopped.

But trogdor is right you know, Prision staff and visitors smuggle in drugs and other contraband items for the prisoners. Apparently, Prison staff do it to stop the prisoners from rioting.

If that is so, should we just check visitors for contraband and keep the prisons clean?

although weapons sounds like abad idea maybe keeping prisoners happy with drugs isn't so bad. It stops them from rioting and there is no danger in O.D.ing because the guardes would see them. Not that I promote drug use but maybe if you are a prisoner and not contributing anything to society at the time then it's fine. However they should be kept from useing the drugs in excess, so they aren't just addicted and looking for more drugs when they get out of prison.

You put people in prison as punishment. How the hell do you want to punish prisoners if you give them drugs to make them happy?

The Australian prison security system is deteriorated to the point where inmates have sex with their girlfriends etc during visiting hours, on top of drugs and weapons being smuggled in...
