obituary
Polaris "Polo" M.
Australian Shepherd Extraordinaire
May 17, 1996 - December 27, 2006
Polo was a real trooper with a sweet spirit and great strength. His "arthritis" turned out to be advanced bone cancer. Bone cancer is incredibly painful, and the vet said that this kind tends to spread into the lungs and liver. In August, Polo had suddenly stopped using his front left paw. A vet said it was either a sprain or arthritis and prescribed a round of antibiotics and some aspirin. When he finally got an X-ray, after a competent vet suggested cancer, the cancer had eaten almost all the way through his wrist bones.
The family had no idea his condition was so severe because Polo was good about pain. When asked if he wanted to go to the vet, he hopped around in excitement. He even bounded out of the back of the car when we got there, landing on only three paws. Polo always liked going to the vet; he assumed that vets were nice people who were just a little clumsy with sharp objects like needles. He was very sweet and very smart. He located all of the central air vents on the first floor of the house and routinely lay in front of them in order to get a blast of cool air in the summer and warm air in the winter. We know he identified them by sight, not air flow, because he sometimes sat in front of the intake vents, too! He used to catch Frisbees like a normal dog until my brother and I played "Monkey in the Middle" with him (~Keepaway). Polo watched us catching the Frisbee with our hands and decided to try playing the human way -- using his paws to bat down the airborne disc! He was a food thief: When someone left a big box of bagged treats on the floor, Polo helped himself to a half dozen of them. He put one under the dining room table, one behind the TV stand, one underneath the curtains, one next to the couch... His hiding places were really lame , but we were shocked that an untrained dog would even think of that. He also watched us taking cookies one at a time from a plate and imitated that too (thereby getting away with more treats while we accused each other of taking extra cookies!).
Polo was my first dog, and he's the first one I've had to see put down. As they put him on the table to give the sedative-overdose injection, I was in tears. And despite his pain and his poor condition, "Dr." Polo gave me kisses to make me feel better, as he usually did when he saw me cry or bleed.
He was a very good dog, and he is missed.

No Kille is not "red-eared slider"(those are the most common pet turtles in Finland). She is a more rare one. We had to wait a year to get her . They wont grow larger than 12 cm.

This is my dog Alaska. We adopted her when she was about 5 months old and she was already used to that name, so we kept it. By now she's a little over 2 years old. She's a mix of white sheperd and huskey.

We didn't have her very long, about a year. My gf was allergic to her so we had to get rid of her.
She got her name because she loved to stand in the window on a sunny day and whistle and dance. She could really boogie

Look at my new Puppy. Her name is Zoey and she's seven weeks old.

Here she is eating up all her good food so she can grow up to be a big, strong, sleddering dog.

Oooh, she's being camera shy here. I guess she figures if she hides under the blanket that I'll never see her.

w00t! I love my new doggy!
