Well, romanian music, popular 'cool' music at least, is generally crap. People who do listen to that band and like those songs are generally considered stupid teens or just highly uneducated, unintelligent people, with no taste in music whatsoever. The song (and the band) are a disgrace to music and Romania in general, but it as much the westerner's fault for listening and promovating such crap, only spreading low taste, poor quality music and low culture even more.
And please, do not judge Romania by a band or a football player. Indeed, there are a lot of terrible things in this country, and most of us romanians hate it, but it relly has it's good parts, music-wise and others.
For a taste of truly exceptional romanian music I would reccomend the band Phoenix, especially the older albums.

I think you should differ between people who like the song but still listen to other stuff, too - and the people that only listen to stuff like this.
I think that, again, a generalization isn't good.

If you were romanian, yes, you could of easily been clasified as an idiot. But since you're not, and you don't know romanian (you can't begin to understand the stupidity of the text even with the english translation),
it's not really your fault.

Not that I'd payed any attention to what you just said on this thread, except for that Shai Hulud (smart fellow), but I just wanna say this: THIS SONG STINKS SO BAD, THAT IF STINKINESS WOULD BE MEASURED IN PEOPLE, IT WOULD SURPASS CHINA. This is one of the reasons I CANNOT say I am proud to be a Romanian (and belive me, I am a patriot). Say what you will, but this is not music, it's just a big pile of steaming bull s***! Thank you.

The somg is from the Republic of Moldova actually, almost Romania.And I am prowd to live in Romania!I like my country.About the quality of the song, I agree.

You're almost right. You see, Romanian immigrants from Italy - the band known as "Haiducii", along with one pitiful lead singer - started playing this song, mostly for the Romanian community in Italy. Yet, like all stupid things, it sadly caught up; and more and more Italians started listening to this song. At this time, the band - O-Zone - was unknown outside Romania. Seeing that this song had some success, O-Zone decided that they will have all the benefits will come out of this; they sued the Haiducii band, and started playing and promoting their song across Europe. And instead of tar and feathering them, you actually liked the song, like it was Robbie Williams or something. I repeat: THIS SONG REAKS OF STUPIDITY! Period.

Yeah.. back on the Dragostea din Tei stuff.. well..
I don't know what caught up the western world with this song, but they made a BAD choice.Also with that Cheeky Song. More of it, I really don't know how come a good band like PHOENIX, which had concerts in many many countries are not as well known as those O-zone and Cheeky Girls. More of it, Phoenix has albums in englsih too, like Empire of Vampire. You people should try that one, not this crap with Dragostea din Tei. I personally disliked O-Zone from the start, when they came to Romania( they are from Moldovia, country related to Romania very much.. if anyone wants to ask more about Moldovia please do so  ).
So.. I beg you, advice anyone to stop listening to that crap and start listening to real romanian music --> PHOENIX-->heard that they had three concerts before Christmas in Canada(anyone can listen to this -->http://www.transsylvania-phoenix.de/en/disc.html ), Negura Bunget(transylvanian black metal) or even Taine(industrial death metal).
