Ahh! Come On!
You've got to be kidding me.. Look at all the QPs given to people who made threads to what qps there were.. I mean, it's almost a sure deal.. if you make one, you'll get a qp. I thought it was nice idea to give the first one who made one of em.. a qp, but now it's just mad.
Have you gotten so desperat with QPs you've started giving them for no reason? Then you might say "It takes much time and effort to make em!" Then i say "Shove it up yo hamster" .. Because theres a lot of posts out there that has been put time and effort into, without getting anything.
Whats wrong with you guys?
Maybe i should make one for the Wastelands, it won't take long time  .. And if i don't get a qp, it's just call out favouritism, because almost everyone else has got one.
Can't you see it's bad?

It's not all about QP's man. Seriously.
I started this whole 'QP Guide' thing, so I guess I'll address this. The reason I started this is because I saw something in HC that could be improved. After realizing that HC's coding didn't allow for such a feature, I did something about it.
But as I stated in the original thread, I did this to save people time and make for easy reference to certain posts. I mean, if someone wanted to find the Age of Minkology pic, they'd have to browse through tons of GoP pages to find it. So, I figured, I'll do it once, so that no one else would have to do it. Plus, I remember reading that someone had been looking for a certain QP in Tosser's Tavern, so I figured I wouldn't be the only one who wanted such a guide. I certainly didn't make it as a QP fishing thread. I made it because I genuinely believed (and still do) that HC would benefit from it.
As for others' QP Guides, I've only seen the ones that Vadskye92 made, and they were definitely QP worthy. He went through some of the biggest threads in HC, and indexed many more QP's than I had to, so that QP, in my mind is well deserved.
Before I comment more, I'll go looking for the other QP guides you mention. Oh, and for the record, you have more QP's than me.

As for your complaint RealDeal, it's just another reason why not to care about QPs.

Well.. it's not just this i'm sick off. I also dislike thread that Link to certain threads and such.. and when Mods say "Do this, and you get a QP!" It rather annoys me.

OMG, realdeal...
i would agree with you, if my case was like you all discuss... few QPs and desperate getting them...
before I got my 8 QP, I did whatever I could to get a QP and help improving the board. It turned out to be easier than I thought. MODs gave them away and I was pleased ( i don't know if they were for my effort, still thanks a lot 
However, after I got my 11th one, I found out that it's a lot harder to get one... you have to improve your post quality, post count and even yourself... you gotta give a lot more effort to get a quality point ( I haven't got one since June because I was fairly inactive ).
it's just that I don't understand why you disagree with the idea of mods asking for some help... it is said that mods need help in making a better contribution to the board.
the guides of sirzapdos (of GoP) and Vads' (of Glade) are very useful and Qp-worthy.and i also doubt mods asked them to do so...
even tho, you gain qps for your post quality. but it is the same! mods award you a qp when they find your help useful (that's good!) or find your post very interesting or superb.
however, that's my opinion only and have it the way like (have it your way!)

I gave Sirzapdos the Qp for his guide to the Pixelartists thread - and i feel it was completely justified. I've noticed that Sirzapdos is always very positive and helpful - and participates in a lot of different threads across HC.
In Tribunal he made a post discussing something he thought could be beneficial to HC - and then found a way that he could do something about it himself.
Its pretty easy to say "you should do this to make things better, and you should do that" but when someone takes the time and effort to do something themselves I will most definately reward that.
In my opinion, its the members that make the HC what it is, so when they're working as a part of the team to improve things that is a great thing.

I agree with TheRealDeal. All of these guide threads and such are destroying the uniqueness of all the forums. All the forums are beginnning to look identical. People seem to post more about a different post, than come up with their own exclusive posts and ideas.

WHATS THE DEAL HERE  .
Earn your QP if you want them.
wont really matter I figure sepending on who you are.
As long as a Mod finds a favored person on here, they will always get a QP lol.

I was thinking that it may be better for moderators to edit in a QP list at the first page of each thread that requires it - what do you guys think?
My reasoning is that its really a bit awkward to have a bunch of stickies at the top of page one, and without stickying the thread it loses its value IMO.
Doing it this way would also serve to keep the forums a lot tidier - because these Guides will begin to clutter the forums in a hurry.
Personally i don't have the time to compile the lists myself, but I would do the editing and updating if anyone agrees.
Also, I do agree that there shouldn't be any "guaranteed" QP, and I hope members don't think that they can just write a guide and get a red star for it every time.
