Townbug?CastleBug?Ghosthero?
Longtime heroes player, this does not mean I am good . . . After reading a mind numbing amount of posts to get a better idea of why I lose most every game and to pick up some tactics/strategy, I've seen the townbug/castlebug/ghost hero mentioned, the townbug somewhat frequently - with the opinion "everyone knows what this is". Unfortunately, I have no idea what it is and am quite sure the people who are playing me do. What exactly are these and how do you use them? I understand from the posts "ghost hero" is considered cheating by some, and not others. How do you know if your opponent is using them? Please don't flame me, I'm asking an real question. Thanks!

Townbug:
During your opponents turn u right click on your flag which is on the right down corner. Now u can see if your opponent do have a town, city or capitol (same symbols u wouldve for it during your own turn). This bug was seen as a cheat, but is accepted by 90% of all known online players to use, as the insight is more then very limited.
Castlebug:
During your opponents turn you enter your own town. Now u see little symbols for your own towns on the right. If u right click on them u see your oppenents towns, which towns they are and what troups he has in the town on the day before. This bug was/is seen as cheat, but is accepted by about 80% of all known heroesplayers to use. The insight is much better then the townbug, but still kind of limited. To avoid that your opponent do know the strenght of your troups simply dont let them rest in the garrisson (give them an outside scout instead).
Ghost hero bug:
There are some bugs in this game that allows your hero to run around without troups, to gain speed bonus on undergrounds without pathfinding penalties. I wont describe any of those bugs here, as this bug is seen as unfair and as cheating by 90% of all known online players. Be sure that noone will use that bug nowadays, as it is easy to prove by saves, that someone uses it (if u are suspcicious simply check your save if opponent does have a hero without creatures).
Although this is known stuff to almost all players over the years there will be some "holier then the holy cow" players that stupidly wait to point their fingers at me ..but, well...who cares?

Townbug: A well-known bug that is nearly impossible to catch. We know about it, but....since it's so hard to prove and so prolific in its use in the Hommunity we generally 'let it slide' in ToH. Sorry.
Castlebug:
Pretty much the same as town bug. Say sorry.
Ghost hero bug:
As Xar said, the use of this bug is easily detectable. If you catch you opponent using this bug and you have the saves to prove it then send them to me. I will personally see to it that they won't use that bug in ToH again.

I, among other rookies to the game, would like to thank the vet's for sharing this info. I as well often was puzzled at how my rival would so calmly, "psyhicly predict" what I had and how many in my towns. Was rather nerve wracking to actually believe he/she was psychic as well.

Thanks!
Ty Xarfax for your detailed reply. Now I know what they are doing, I understand it isn't cheating per se, but at least that much will be equal. I really didn't want to know how to utilitize the ghost hero, just how to tell if someone else was. Cheating is simply no fun.
Ty LichKing, you will definitely be the first to know if that ever happens. I do need to be more diligent about my saves.
I appreciate the replys! Happy hunting

advice for all newcomers
Actually the ghost hero bug works in it's most efective way like this:You take your main hero just before your main battle(make sure it is day 7),recruit all the army you have left, load him with artifacts, then you must type very fast this combination:h/enter/d/enter.Then you hit end turn quick and the next day you'll have your ghost hero.Don't forget this has to be done on day 7, otherwise when you'll check your tavern the following turn, you'll see the transformation may not be complete.
Seriously guys, there's no point in cheating/using those bugs.If you want to see someone's income just check it in your own tavern or the den of thieves. As for the ghost hero bug i thing there's way too much fuss about it.
Keep it clean guys, come to the library and learn some really useful stuff instead of those silly cheats!

I wasn't trying to learn how to cheat. I was wondering exactly what these things were because I've seen them discussed - I was certain all but the ghost hero was being used and wondered how they did it. I have no intention of cheating. I'm used to losing anyway

townbug and castlebug hmm ui never thought of this as a cheat as like xar said 90% of people use it.and as he said it has limited info. so i wouldnt worry about it at all. the one thing i think that is worse and should be payed attention to is constant dropping, make sure you make saves dailly.
trust me the town and castle bug is not going to make you lose
